Obviously bad hire is unsurprisingly a bad hire. Hasn't even been a coach for two years and already has: meltdown Fiesta Bowl loss to Oklahoma State, home loss to Marshall, home loss to Stanford, and meltdown loss to OSU because he couldn't count to 11 on back to back plays. Recruiting is a huge part of college football, but Ryan Day, Freeman, and Jimbo are living testaments that you need to know ball at least a little bit.

He has to do this. He has created a team that has not been tough since he has been there and hired a Big 12 D coordinator that his job is to slow down an offense just enough for a high scoring offense to beat. All I know is OUR coach would have let his players talk their toughness instead of ole teary eyes speaking for his team.

EDIT: Actually, I suspect they had a safety set super far back and outside of the frame, since ND ran 11 up to the line for the play on which McCord spiked it.
