Would love to see us get another rugby-style punter. Excepting the event that shall not be named, O'Neill was a significant field-position factor. Punting far is good. Punting far(ther) with few returns is better.

guys who can do both are nice to have, but when they're injured (which is more likely if they're doing both), you need multiple guys to step in.  Having a kicker and a punter allows each to be the other's backup.  Typically, your best kicker isn't your best punter, and vice versa.

Guys like Kenny Allen are few and far between, and that's okay with me.

but it seems to me that the #1 -#3 placekickers/punters should get three stars.  Hard to argue about the impact that a very good kicker/punter can have on a program.  Sorry if this is common knowledge, but I don't get it.

the Officlal Questionaire that UM asks punter candidates

"If there are 10 seconds left and you are punting from your side of the 50 and you have a less than 6 point lead, and if it's a bad snap, do you (A) try to pick up the bumbling ball and get off a punt in the face of the opponent bearing down on you, or (B) take a kneel-down to live for another play."

If you pick wrong you dont get the scholie.

for not noticing that MSU was going all in on the punt block and not taking a 5 yard delay penalty, going max protect, and telling O'Neill to punt it out of bounds.

Then it wouldn't have mattered what our punter did.

It was a coaching issue. Dan Antonio got Harbaugh there.

not that it matters, but still a stupid remark. there was 7 men on the line of scrimmage, 3 blockers and a punter in the backfield. one spartie was back and one michigan  player released down field. you know to maybe cover the returner. they never came close to blocking the punt without the dropped snap. okay genius so what would you have done different?

His birthdate makes me feel old - I had already been able to drink and smoke legally for some time and actually had been doing both on and off gfor sometime even before that.

All the same, nice addition to round out the class. Welcome to Michigan, Brad Robbins

Watching film of Brian Robbins kick at Kornblue Kicking was very impressive.  Most kicks had a hangtime over 5.0 seconds while some were 5.2 seconds.  This is the hangtime that some NFL punters get.  This guy could be a huge weapon.  Very glad this kicker from a suburb of Columbus, OH has decided to wear the Blue and Maize!

What was the hold up on his NLOI? Was he slow playing UM?!?

Seriously, though, anyone know why his LOI came in several days "late"?

(I know that "Signing Day" is really just the earliest a player can sign, but it's hard to imagine a punter would need several days to make a decision between Nevada and UM.)
