Liberty Athletic Club is…

Liberty Athletic Club is Kindergarten age and up FYI

Right, it's definitely…

Right, it's definitely confusing and lacks detail.

For example, do you have to be a "member" to eat there? what are the hours of the restaurants? It mentions an app, but where's the link to the app? Can I look at the menus without the app?

On a similar note, Tommy…

On a similar note, Tommy Henry was called up by the Dbacks last month and has pitched pretty well. He's 2-2 with a 3.57 ERA, 1.24 WHIP in 4 starts. Hopefully his play this fall will lock up a rotation spot for him next year!

That seems to be just on3…

That seems to be just on3. 247 is basically pitching Gattis as the frontrunner.

I would actually be…

I would actually be surprised that Gattis leaves, unless its for a decent P5 HC job. I have a different POV as I know the Gattis family a little bit. Our sons play together and I coached his son in flag football in the spring. Now, most of my interactions are with his wife, but they very much like it here in AA. They have 2 small children, so I bet that is taken into consideration as well before uprooting their family.

If we need to offer any…

If we need to offer any coach's sons, it has to be Ben Herbert's younger son. He was on my son's 1st grade flag football team in the spring, and the kid is just on another level. There were plenty of good/great athletes in the league, but he was just unreal, could probably suit up for Saline JV team tomorrow.

Does it though? I was 5’6 at…

Does it though? I was 5’6 at the end of my freshman year in HS, I’m 6’2 now.

Not saying he’ll grow same, but it certainly wouldn’t be abnormal.

NC State has a loss against…

NC State has a loss against Miss State.

Yep, they even expanded…

Yep, they even expanded their Ann Arbor location.

We flew out of there weekend…

We flew out of there weekend of Memorial Day, Sat morning flight. It was easy in and out for us w/ TSA Pre-Check, think we were 3rd in line to check our bags and only 3/4 families ahead of us for security.

I think you'll find that 4…

I think you'll find that 4-irons these days are lofted the same as your old 3-irons, so you can expect similar distance. 3-irons from 90s and 00s had a loft of around 21 degrees, my 4-iron (about 5 years old) has a loft of 20.

Hope it's not a stress…

Hope it's not a stress fracture. I got one in my foot last summer from running. It was the weirdest thing, I only felt small sharp pains on side of my foot when I ran, never when I was walking normally or even when I rode bike. I finally went to get it checked out after a trying to run a few times and the pain would come back after running for about 1/4 mile.

Ended up basically just not run on it all winter, and it's finally healed.

Do what you like, but this…

Do what you like, but this is paying for my new finished basement.

Are we really on the bubble…

Are we really on the bubble to make the NCAA? Sorry, I don't follow hockey too much, but usually watch Michigan when its tourney time. I see us ranked 7th, and just assumed we'd be a lock to get in this year.

Agreed those AJ 1s that…

Agreed those AJ 1s that Juwan and staff were rocking were super clean. I think there's a chance that Nike drops those on SNKRS sometime this year. They've been steadily releasing a number of school color themed one recently, I think the UNC one drops tomorrow. If you like those, check out the Nike Dunk Michigan, a bit more affordable, plus Dunks are the rage these days.

Looking at the picture posted above, it looks like Watts is wearing the NIke Freak 1 "Roses."

At least here in Washtenaw…

At least here in Washtenaw County, one of the key stats that most school districts used is positivity %, which has fallen steadily since start of the year. Right after the New Year, it peaked at 9.9% on 1/6 and a 7 day average of 8.8%. It has steadily decreased over the month, where we are now at a 7 day avg of 3.3%. I don't know if that would be considered "precipitous" but it's a solid drop, and well below several school district's goal of under 5% to keep in-school learning.

Ha great minds thin alike!…

Ha great minds thin alike! You did improve upon mine with the Mitch McGary stat though.

I think you're right, I…

I think you're right, I checked a few that might come close off top of my head:

1. Crawford - 19k pts

2. Glen Rice - 18k

3. Webber - 17k

4. Juwan - 16k

Holy fuck, still remember…

Holy fuck, still remember this like it was yesterday, reading about it in our dorm room in MoJo. It was also the first year I started to follow recruiting.

Wow, the team is going to be…

Wow, the team is going to be young next year. Hoping we have a regular off and pre-season this year, we are really going to need it to get the new guys used to playing with each other and learn the system. Or else we'll probably look like the UK (low end) and Duke teams do this year.

An interesting thought is if you could choose to only have one of Smith/Brooks back next year, who would you choose?

Yea, not sure what Ayo was…

Yea, not sure what Ayo was thinking on that last real possession they had, only thing I could think of is he was trying to draw a foul on the shot.

The flagrant 1 called on Cockburn in the last minute was atrocious though.

Yea, that was a great read…

Yea, that was a great read. Here's the article in anyone else missed it: https://247sports.com/college/michigan/Article/michigan-wolverines-basketball-chaundee-brown-strength-and-conditioning-jon-sanderson-wake-forest-155080777/

It's not just the intensity,…

It's not just the intensity, but how he can immediately go from that extreme intensity to having the smile of a kid on Christmas morning in a split second. Really refreshing and fun to watch, you can tell he loves playing on this team.

This is my thought as well,…

This is my thought as well, has great recruiting skills bringing in students to Xavier Institute. He can also bring on Wolverine as Strength coach, adamantium injections anyone?

I have a 6 year old. We…

I have a 6 year old. We started with Lego Ninjago and Lego Marvel Superheroes games on the PS4, they're very kid friendly, you don't really have to worry about dying or anything. Now he likes to play Fifa and Madden against me, where I usually set his difficulty to easy and mine to All-pro. Fifa actually has a one-button control mode which is great for kids.

We're getting him a Switch for Xmas, with the usual Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros type games, which he already plays pretty frequently at his friends houses.

I don't know what you say is…

I don't know what you say is true. My wife works for the university, and have a close friend who is a professor. I have heard both of them and my wife's co-workers question Schlissel's leadership and communications throughout this pandemic. The faculty will be holding a vote of no confidence (though unofficial because bylaws say it has to be done in person) in the next few weeks. I would very much put them in the camp of opinions who actually matter.

Good thread, I've been…

Good thread, I've been considering getting my soon to be 6 year old Minecraft as well. Even as a lifetime gamer (sports and CoD games mostly), I don't realy "get" minecraft.

Based on what I've read here, I should probably just get it for him on the iPad, instead of PS4? I have my PS4, but he hasn't really played much it and not used to using the controller. He's been playing CodeSpark on his iPad, but I thin he's quickly losing interest.

Loved this game. Still…

Loved this game. Still remember living on campus at the time, and went to go get it the day it came out. I got pulled over for speeding on Washtenaw, luckily just got a warning, but when I got to the Gamestop there, they literally sold the last copy to the person infront of me. Ended up driving to the other Gamestop to get it.

Oo card collecting is still…

Oo card collecting is still a big hit for kids, except instead of baseball cards, it's pokemon cards. Though my son (6) did trade his Charizard card for a Tom Brady card at school earlier this year.

I would guess he goes to…

I would guess he goes to play for Lamello's team in NZ.

No, fuck you dude.

No, fuck you dude.

Played Destiny 2 for a while…

Played Destiny 2 for a while after it first came out, but just became too much of a repetitive grind to get slightly better weapons for me.

i play CoD Warzone now, but mainly cause it’s a chance to socialize with my buddies for a few hours 3/4 times a week.

If I’m playing solo, I usually play some FIFA, NBA 2k, or the Show.

My wife and I got an erase…

My wife and I got an erase board that we use to loosely plan out our week. We put on the side the list of meetings/work time we have for the week. Then we try to find anytime that we aren't overlapping as our "teaching" time for the kids. We'll do 30 min blocks of writing time, art time, outside time etc. It's worked out fairly well for us so far. Even for TV time, we try to have them watch something a little educational during the day, like Magic School Bus. Also, its important to understand that it's ok to deviate from the plans, sometimes we just say F it, we'll just put on Frozen 2 again for you.

Prodigy is great! We just…

Prodigy is great! We just found out about this as well form my son's Kindergarten. I find it especially nice that he can choose to read the instructions or press a button for it to be spoken, so he can work on some of his reading as well.

My son was supposed to be in…

My son was supposed to be in Y5 this year in AA, but we moved over the summer to Saline Area Schools, where their Y5 was full so we opted to have him start in K instead. Luckily, he's doing well.

One thing that I have heard is that, if you have the option, keep the child in lower grade. When they get to the later grades, it's much easier for a child to skip a grade, than to be held back.

Just found my copy of NCAA…

Just found my copy of NCAA 14 in some moving boxes last week, too bad PS4 isn't backwards compatible.

As a Yankees fan, this helps…

As a Yankees fan, this helps the team quite a bit. Judge and Stanton (to a lesser extent) were very doubful to start the season on time, both should be good now with a May start to the season. Of course, Stanton will probably somehow hurt himself while washing his hands. Paxton is also projected to be back in mid/late May, so that's potentially 3 top players that would've missed games to be healthy for the season.

Ran into him at the 5 Guys…

Ran into him at the 5 Guys off Saline Rd a few summers ago. Just said hi and wished him good luck with the recruiting, he came and talked to my 5 year (who was wearing a michigan jersey) for a few minutes. He seemed very easy going and likable.

Does it really have to take…

Does it really have to take place before end of the semester though? The College World Series plays into July, and drafted players participate.

This. I once took down a balcony while backing out of my brother in-laws condo complex near the U hospital.

So very sad, and it was…

So very sad, and it was indeed his birthday. One of my best friends knew him pretty well from their time at UF together. He learned that Ed had HLH which flared up and severely complicated the pneumonia, and caused his passing.

Just a reminder that life can be short and things can change in a flash. Definitely extra grateful for my family and our health this holiday season.

RIP Edward Aschoff

I basically screen shows for…

I basically screen shows for my wife, I’ll watch an episode or two, then decide if she should be brought it. She’s definitely a No for this show, still trying to decide if she’d like The Watchmen, though she did enjoy The Boys.

I almost did too after the…

I almost did too after the bland start, but IMO glad I stuck through it.

I was pretty excited for…

I was pretty excited for this show as well, though only played a bit of Witcher 3, but I’ve heard the books were great, and I’m a sucker for these type of fantasy action shows/movies.

Started watching yesterday, I thought it started off pretty meh, but it really picked up after a few episodes. Starting to really enjoy it, and hoping to finish off the rest of the season this weekend.

It kind of reminds me some kind of mix between LOTR, GoT, and The Mandalorian (though obviously not as good overall). It has the high fantasy elements of LOTR, tended for more mature audience like GoT, and follows more of a episodic adventures of Mandalorian, with an overarching plot that begins to reveal as the season goes on.

We usually just park at…

We usually just park at Pioneer for $10, even walking with our 5 year old. Easy in and out. I like parking there cause it’s easy to get out to head home after, so I would just advise to park somewhere that gets you out easier to the direction you need.

I'd say quite a few. I'm…

I'd say quite a few. I'm lucky enough where one of my friends live across the street from the park, so he just saves a spot for us. Him and his neighbor share a double driveway, where they charge $25 (I think) for parking, and they can get about like 8 cars in there. There's also houses that have parking on their lawn.

I'm not sure if houses will let you tailgate in their driveway/lawn, but the park always has plenty space and just across the small street.

Was about to log in to post this, great choice, there’s even street parking if you are lucky and get there early enough.

Can confirm, I work for Kellogg's and had to deal with this.
