There's no surprise in this line.

It's expected Michigan should win by that much. And I have mixed thoughts on Michigan winning by that much. If they look like a machine, with cadence on offense, and domination on defense, I will be happy. I will feel like the team is heading somewhere.

If there is dysfunction that makes everyone scratch their heads, wondering what's happened to the team, yet they still win by 2 to 4 TDs, well, I suppose we will see fans begin to call for the heads of coaches, not wanting to endure what happened last year again.

Great. Another season of beating up and okay and poor teams and losing when it counts. Football makes me so miserable I don’t know why I invest so much time. For the first time since the 0-2 start in 2007 I’m thinking about doing something else during the game.

I think we need to just roll up the sleeves and take on a more (maize and) blue collar attitude.  Enough with the hype bs.  Enough with all the Harbaughisms.  Just freaking play football.  This ISN'T Michigan football.  Need to earn back the respect.  Not claim it as a right.  Braylon Edwards is an ass for his tweet ripping the team, but I understand the frustration.  Losing how we lose is not acceptable.  Notre Dame is a good team but with all the freakin HYPE and TALK about this team....Either shut up or play up to the hype.

Michigan beats Western by 60.

Arizona State (who held their opponent to 2 yards rushing and had 9 sacks in 49-3 win yesterday Upsets MSU 35-21. as Herm Edwards proves he's for real.

I'm somewhat worried about the Western game.  They found something on offense in the second half of the Syracuse game.  Plus, games like this for the in-state schools are so easy for their players to get fired up for.

Syracuse took Dungey out when they were up by about 30.  His backup did nothing.   The only thing encouraging about that game for my Broncos is that they fought back.  While their backup was in Wassink did work.  O-Line, strength of the team, held up the entire game and allowed Wassink to find receivers in the 2nd half. Eskridge and Bellamy are serious weapons with 4.32 & 4.4 speed.  Unfortunately they put Dungey back in and we had no answer for his athleticism.

Michigan will fare better but not necessarily put up 55.  I look for more of a ball control offense.  Establish the run.  Let the O line get some positive drives together.  A healthy dose of Higdon and Evans.  Western will not be able to keep Gentry, McKeon, Eubanks in check.  The losses of Sam Beal to NFL supplemental draft and D Phillips to the League leaves huge holes at CB.

Michigan receivers will find space while Shea is able to sit in the pocket.  I’d hope for better play from the special teams, specifically the field goal unit and punt returns.   I thought last year that DPJ did a poor job and he put us in a bad spot at the 2 against ND.

I’ll stick with my preseason prediction of:

Michigan 42 WMU 10

I hope both of my teams make it thru this healthy with some improvements over last week.

I will eat my hat if Michigan doesn’t struggle early and piss everyone on the blog off. When’s the last time they completely dominated a weaker team start to finish? 2016 Maryland?

Michigan smoked Appy State before laying an egg to Notre Dame, but then came back and waylaid Miam (NTM) before crapping out the rest of the season.  Smoking WMU will be far less indicative of Michigan's season going forward than the hot steaming pile of 1 SEP 2018.
