Strengths:

  • Technician as a pass protector, playing with a wide base and very good balance. Henderson has heavy hands, but more impressively, Henderson is consistent with his kick slide and shows impressive lateral movement.

Weaknesses

  • He’s shaky as a pass protector, which is troublesome for the next level. Henderson often plays too high with an inconsistent kick slide.

I am confusion.

Not sure. If I had to guess, he has been out since the Washington game which was the 6th game. Combine this with the 4 games in 2020 (more like scrimmages) and 13 last year means he has only had 23 games in three years, of which almost half we're at different positions. But he did start in game 3 of his freshman year and played the rest of that season.

He was the left guard last year and I think this year and may be planning a move back to tackle at the NFL level. This means he has only played 12 games at tackle. (Protected Jayden Daniels' blindside when he was their QB)

Maybe it's coaching, figuring another year would raise his draft stock. ASU's line coaching this year has been suboptimal and he wants to learn technique from the best.

A multi-year starter, team captain and unquestioned leader, Henderson was one of the top Pac-12 offensive guards this season before a finger injury suffered in ASU's Oct. 8 win over Washington ended his season.

From my post that I asked to be deleted: Henderson started 29 games over the last three years, and appears to have been one of ASU's team captains this season. He missed the last six games after sustaining a broken bone in his hand against Washington in October.

He had accepted an invite the East-West Shrine game, which seemed to indicate he was ready to move on and prepare for the NFL draft, but decide to join the good guys instead!!

I presume this means they expect 1 or both of Zinter/Keegan to go pro.

All the scuttle is that they actually really like crippen and wanted to preserve his redshirt. Anderson would be the other contender. Would be a total coup to keep Zinter and move him to Center, as he would be our best OL and would shore  up the spot with the most uncertainty. I presume the succession plan has already been discussed internally.
