Does anyone know what class Foug is in? The official roster says he is a senior in '17, was a sophomore in '16 and graduated from HS in '16. How many years does he have left to play, if any, after this season?
|06/28/2017 - 9:52am||'18 Class||
So a class of:
Locke (#104) or Mosley (not in the 150)
Jerome Hunter (#30)
Brandon Johns (#44)
Ignas Brazdeikis (#36)
Would be pretty sweet and pretty reasonable (maybe outside of Locke).

|03/31/2017 - 10:47am||Minutes with Bamba||
PG - X 30/MAAR 6/Eli 4
SG - MAAR 30/Matthews 8/Poole 2
SF - Matthews 20/Duncan 20
PF - Wagner 25/Bamba 15
C - Wilson 30/Bamba 10
Foul trouble gets Teske/Davis in. The freshmen guards don't play much if X progresses and MAAR can handle the point for a few minutes a game.
X - 30 mpg
MAAR - 36 mpg
Matthews - 28 mpg
Duncan - 20 mpg
Wagner - 25 mpg
Wilson - 30 mpg
Bamba - 25 mpg
And is a pretty tidy 7 man rotation.

Just using the dates Brian supplied from the post yesterday:
Our Defense moves up to 41st overall. About 10 teams in front of M didn't make the tourney, so that'd be about the 31st best defense in the tourney, counting games from Jan. 12.

26 Tourney teams have a worse defense than Michigan (according to KenPom).
Of those, 8 are 11 seed or better. So most of the worse defenses come from Auto-Qualify small conference teams.

No limit to the number of early enrollees. The limit only applies to how many can be back-dated to the previous class. Early enrollees who aren't backdated just count towards the overall scholarship count and current class size.
|12/14/2016 - 7:59am||Franklin||
I would guess Meyer and Franklin are Jive Turkeys #1 and #2. The race for the 3rd Jive Turkey would then be between Dantonio (staying in conference), Brian Kelly, Dabo, Freeze and Saban. Saban seems the least likely one to me, as he doesn't really need to negativly recruit. He can sell Alabama on it's own. The other guys all have been in multiple head to head battles with Harbaugh for recruits.

|04/19/2016 - 2:13pm||What do you mean by||
What do you mean by stretching to the max? Isn't the rule for being granted a 6th year that you must first have graduated? And that if Knox/Davis/other guy graduate in May, they will have done so within the 5 years? And that you can't even apply for a 6th year until you've graduated, which is why the players/school has not yet petitioned for the extra year?
|04/19/2016 - 1:46pm||I'd love to see MSU fall on||
I'd love to see MSU fall on their face for this too - but could the players have been named "Scout Team Member of the Week" for their film study/study habits? Something not necessarily physical?
|04/14/2016 - 1:33pm||On Davis/MSU||
Doesn't it stand to reason that MSU feels very cofidently in getting Davis a 6th year - because if they don't, they would have cost him a shot at going in this year's NFL Draft. If the decision on Ott was late (whoever is to blame for that) - the decision on Davis will come much later (I believe he has to first officially graduate in the spring). So MSU either knows he'll be back provided he graduates, or Davis is running a huge risk of costing himself a year of pro ball.

|07/08/2015 - 1:59pm||Interesting.||
That makes 3 Michigan schools sponsord by Jordan (Mich, Oak, Hillsdale) - but not MSU! Ha!
Seriously though - the wiki link (again, veracity unverified) says Oakland, Wright St and Fresno St are sponsored. So I would assume they are on a different level from Hillsdale. But not on the same level as UNC, Cal, Marquette, G'Town, Mich.
I guess I'm wondering how the levels work and why Jordan Brand gets out of OU, WSU, FSU? Because attaching those three names seems to slightly devalue the Jordan association.
|07/08/2015 - 1:30pm||Jumpman Sponsor||
Accoriding to the internet (never wrong!), the Jordan Brand also sponsors Oakland U, Fresno State and Wright State. Which seems very odd to me. They don't exactly fall in line with UNC, G'Town, D-Wade U and Cal.
Any idea how those schools got associated with the Jumpman? Are they buying their own stuff?

Partially responsible for sure. They had no trouble accepting the good will of the homeless walk-on profiles. The least they could have done was hold a scholarship for him when one opened up.
|01/27/2015 - 9:28am||More moves?||
This offer has to mean a transfer is coming, right? Add this kid and then you are done with the '15 class and only have 1 spot remaining in the '16 class. And the '16 class (which already has Teske) needs to find the replacements for Walton and Irvin.
Next Year's Lineup:
The following season:
Dawkins/ONE OPEN SPOT for a 2/3
We'd go from a guard heavy team to a having hardly any guards/wings in a hurry.
|01/22/2015 - 2:09pm||From:http://www.addictedtoqu||
Furthermore, naturally existing stratification between the walk-ons and the scholarship players are reinforced by the NCAA itself. The post-practice meal is a buffet inside the Pittman Room at the Casanova Center. Between practice and study hall, players get treatment and help themselves to dinner, a rare time to unwind and bond as a team. However, players who are not on scholarship are not allowed to have their food paid for by the school, as it is deemed an extra benefit per NCAA regulations. If they wish to eat the post-practice meal, they must pay for it themselves. Otherwise, they must leave and eat dinner at home. Federico was fortunate enough that his parents would pay for his meals. Brown and DePalo would not be eating with the team.
So - they have the option of training table, but it's not free. I beleive there are other "perks" similar to this that walk-ons don't get to take full advantage of.
|01/22/2015 - 1:39pm||Also - walk-ons, I believe,||
Also - walk-ons, I believe, don't get all of the same perks that scholarship players get. Things like training table, etc. TWJ, or anyone else for that matter, is not going to pass on those perks just to help Michigan gain an extra 'ship.
|01/05/2015 - 12:21pm||Buy Out||
Could further try and minimize cost of firing Ferentz by offering a buy out. $2.66 million a year for 5 years? How about $5 million now, to quit and $5 million two years from now. Or something similar.
Now - Ferentz doesn't have to agree to that - but maybe he would.

|10/14/2014 - 11:32am||I agree with all of this.||
I agree with all of this. The other risk you run with calling a time-out is a defensive penalty. Move them up 10-15 yards and then give them another crack at a free play. Calling it right away or not at all were the choices to choose between.
