Les Miles on Campus Yesterday

Submitted by SkyPanther on

Les Miles was visiting assistant RB coach Alfonso Smith yesterday. Picture on twitter:

Was he in town for the Lloyd Carr Roast/Chad Tough Charity? Or just to visit?

One can only hope he's being added to the team as an assistant in the running game, to work with Ed Warriner. Would be nice to see him working in the Oklahoma drills:

But he's probably just on campus to visit.

Les Miles had a great record at LSU over the long term.  I highly doubt Orgeron equals it.

He is a prick, just like Bo was. Wow if we brought him on, I'd be happy. He's well connected in the south recruit scene. And he is a badass.

I looked up LSU's recruiting classes in his years there:

Rank,  5 Stars

2005)     14       1

2006)      8        1

2007)      5        1

2008)     13       1

2009)      1        4

2010)      9        0

2011)      8        3

2012)     13       0

2013)      6        0

2014)      2        4

2015)      5        2

2016)      2        2

In the 11 years Les Miles coached at LSU, 8 of his RBs were drafted into the NFL. Unless, you count Leornard Fournette and Derrius Guice. Then, it would be 10.

So I do say, one can only hope Les Miles is added to the team, in some kind of capacity, in coaching the running game. And like you point out, as a recruiter.

LSU, its conference, and its location as the only major program in a talent-rich state, may also have had something to do with his recruiting success.

Methinks that LSU without Les Miles will be able to recruit far better than Les Miles without LSU.

There may be something to your point about coaching the offensive line, as he didn't have many O linemen drafted into the NFL in his years at LSU. But,as is pionted out by another commneter, He had 8 RBs drafted into the NFL in his 11 years at LSU. But Leornard Fournette and Derrius Guice were also drafted after he was gone.

Les looks good.  Speaking of color, I just turned 49. I am very lucky to look much younger.  I have very little grey hair, maybe 3% on top...but my beard is full 50% grey.  I have to admit, that I do put Just for Men light brown in the beard when I grow it out.  It makes me look 34 or 35.  My gf is 37.

Watching Shark Tank, every Shark is over 49 and all dye their hair except for Mr. Wonderful...

Not always.  The JFM stuff gives me about 80% coverage...there are still some hairs resistant to it.  It looks very natural if you pick the right shade.

I totally agree though that it can look bad.  For example Heisenberg's goatee dye on Breaking Bad looked totally artifical for a man in his 50s.

You are 49 and dying your beard makes you look 34 or 35? Dude. Dude. Dude. Me thinks you are taking the placations to be factualizations. People are telling you what you want to hear. Take how old they tell you that you look and add 5 to 7 years. That's the rule. That is how old you look.

The head of our NA sales division is 38 and looks like my dad.  He said to me recently that he was stunned that I was 10 years older than he was.  Its all about how you take care of yourself.  I eat relatively clean and have been using moisturizer on my face and neck since 15 when I was cleaning pools and getting too much sun.

My older brother recently passed away due to years of drug abuse at 54.  He was a wreck at 54 due to years of self abuse.

An entire thread and no mention of Ben Miles? The FB who just left the Nebraska program?

Seems like now would be when they'd be looking at possible landing places for him.

He would be in the same class as Ben Mason, so not ideal for Michigan, but maybe worth a visit/conversation?
