Injury Report: Rod Moore now OUT
Also no Zeke Berry or Jaden McBurrows or Amorion Walker.
Backup RBs also a bit of an issue with Hall and Stokes out.

/Sigh. This better not be a NHG situation
September 16th, 2023 at 6:03 PM ^
Same w/Will Johnson and Makari Paige.... our injured list so far this year would be one of the best secondaries in the nation.
September 16th, 2023 at 6:12 PM ^
Will Johnson played last week.
September 16th, 2023 at 6:17 PM ^
Both Johnson and Paige have played this year, if sparingly. I suspect they have some injuries but they seem closer to playing that Moore, who really hasn't come close to seeing the field this year.
September 16th, 2023 at 7:35 PM ^
Dollars to doughnuts at least a couple of the names on that out list will be.
September 16th, 2023 at 6:13 PM ^
What about him?
People need to relax, they're not going to rush guys back against these opponents. If guys are missing B1G games, then panic.
September 16th, 2023 at 6:15 PM ^
This. I don't understand the posts. It's Bowling Green. Why would we need to put guys at risk right now? For all we know, he'd be in if it were conference play.
September 16th, 2023 at 5:49 PM ^
My first thought when I read the title.....ugh, we seem to get CB2 figured out, and now maybe a safety issue, at least with first-string.
September 16th, 2023 at 5:51 PM ^
Hoping this is all just extra cautionary before BiG10 play
September 16th, 2023 at 6:03 PM ^
Wishful thinking. Rod Moore was "fine", but it's clearly pretty serious or something that can become chronic like a hamstring. My guess is he is always close, but it flares up immediately. Sometimes those things need a few months or a year to fully heal up. I don't know if we've ever had a single season where there wasn't a major injury or a weird head scratching injury where no one knows anything but the player is said to be fine, but never really plays. Then next season they'll be articles about how their finally healthier than they've been in years, etc.,but then it will be clear they've lost a step like Corum has. It's the same movie over and over. Luckily if JJ can stay healthy we always have a chance.
September 16th, 2023 at 6:42 PM ^
Or it's something like a hamstring, and they're taking zero chances to aggravate it in a game they know they have zero need for Rod Moore in.
September 16th, 2023 at 5:53 PM ^
I am sure all the DBs are just honoring JH’s 3 games.
September 16th, 2023 at 5:53 PM ^
Rod Moore and a few others have NHG syndrome. I guess he can come back next year. I think it takes a lot of injury luck or a roster with NIL fed and happy 5 star backups ready to go. We don't have it. I think Johnson is much further from coming back than we think too. It was all talk about maybe only missing a game and now we're looking at him missing a quarter or more of the season already if he doesn't play tonight. I hope the D line is as good as they hype otherwise PSU, Maryland and OSU could carve us up. Were only likely to get more injured as the season goes along. You can always expect 3 or 4 starters to be injured at any given time.
September 16th, 2023 at 6:58 PM ^
Considering the starters have played all of 1.5 games of football this year, and that I'm sure no one with an Ann Arbor address has hit any of Corum, Edwards, or JJ even ONCE - our injury list is pretty fuckin long.
September 16th, 2023 at 8:45 PM ^
While I appreciate one of MeanJoe’s rare serious posts where he actually adds something to the discussion, you’re kind of missing the point here. The syndrome should not be attributed to NHG but more so to “Coach Speak” from JH.
The issue was never NHG being hurt but rather the lack of transparency from the coaches. Colson, Barrett, Harrell, and Rolder made do but the fact that nobody outside of the mothership was privy to the situation and was never to going to learn the truth is where the dismay stems from.
September 16th, 2023 at 6:01 PM ^
I searched the forum and do not find mention that the Big Ten now requires availability reports several hours before game time. For today’s game, which is where the poster/Alex Zuniga identified today’s hold outs:

September 16th, 2023 at 6:03 PM ^
Thank God we won’t need a secondary until…..(squints at schedule)…….uhhh. Well I hope he feels better soon
September 16th, 2023 at 6:05 PM ^
Tonight is technically still preseason.
if this is still an issue come conference games next week, then I am officially worried that this is an “NHG soft tissue” situation.
September 16th, 2023 at 6:11 PM ^
It's pre season until Penn State
September 16th, 2023 at 6:44 PM ^
Yeah, but next week is conference play, and you really don’t want your starters/preseason all conference players coming in rusty midseason.
September 17th, 2023 at 9:38 AM ^
None of it is 'technically' pre-season. These games count, people just keep calling out of conference games that because they're easy this year
September 16th, 2023 at 6:10 PM ^
out of 14 on the injury list, 7 are DBs, what is going on here?
September 16th, 2023 at 6:44 PM ^
Our super secret offense has Henderson and Trente Jones at WR for maximum blocking. It's been brutal for the DBs in practice. This theory solves all mysteries.
September 16th, 2023 at 7:08 PM ^
And this implies that sasquatch must be... OH. MY. GOD.
September 16th, 2023 at 6:11 PM ^
Here’s to some Cole cabana garbage time highlights!
September 16th, 2023 at 6:13 PM ^
Quite odd to see 2/3rds of the injuries (9/14) are WRs and DBs. Arguably the entire starting secondary is injured with Will, Rod, Makari and Amoriom.
UM 7v7 must be a meat grinder!
September 16th, 2023 at 6:15 PM ^
Why is Rod Moore *now* out? He hasn't played all year and Michigan is being EXTRA cautious trying to have guys fresh for the final 6-7 games of the year (including a B1G Championship and two CFP wins).
But when was Moore *in*?
September 16th, 2023 at 6:20 PM ^
Was listed as "questionable" the previous two weeks.
September 16th, 2023 at 6:32 PM ^
I understand, but I guess I'd never rely on an injury report from a college team, especially one coached by Jim Harbaugh. Especially when Jim Harbaugh has our non-conference schedule.
He's always been OUT. Same with Walker. There hasn't been any speculation of those guys playing.
I think next week is the one where we have to read into this report a little bit more. It's clear we are being ultra conservative. Last year Corum was worn out, the OL was worn out, Colson and Barrett were cooked.
September 16th, 2023 at 7:23 PM ^
Pretty sure he played at least a series last week. For whatever that’s worth.
September 16th, 2023 at 6:15 PM ^
Yeah, at this point I'm going to assume Moore is out for a while because you'd give him some run by now if the injury was minor.
September 16th, 2023 at 6:16 PM ^
I'm glad we are treating this like preseason NFL. Let's get the young guys some reps and get the stars healthy.
September 16th, 2023 at 6:35 PM ^
Exactly. It's one of those things that I'll look back and love if it works and hate if it doesn't.
I get why we're doing it. But rhythm and chemistry matters. So does building an identity.
Everyone else is working to knock us off the mountain top and we're resting.
But again, it absolutely can work. It's not like we start the B1G with OSU and PSU. We have opportunities to work our way into "game shape." Meanwhile, you're getting guys like Sabb and the CBs some incredible experience...if they're call on later in the year, you're thankful for these snaps.
September 16th, 2023 at 7:19 PM ^
Why do you think that's what we're doing? Nobody knows why these guys are out and what progress they've made to being full speed. You have to know it's a thing before you assess if you like it
September 16th, 2023 at 7:10 PM ^
Would like them, if possible, to get their feet wet in an actual game. Get the signals, cohesion with the rest of the secondary, whathaveyou. But maybe they are viewing Rutgers as a better low risk opportunity to do so?
September 16th, 2023 at 6:37 PM ^
Don’t like this trend. And we know nothing of what happened right ?
September 16th, 2023 at 6:55 PM ^
Said it 3 months ago about Johnson. He wasn't planning on being ready. The rest of the secondary being hurt is becoming a problem. Not that I expect us to struggle or lose but these guys need to play.
September 16th, 2023 at 7:05 PM ^
Mullings gets 2 TDs.
September 16th, 2023 at 7:06 PM ^
Has Cole Cabana had any playing time this year? Was excited to see him play
September 16th, 2023 at 7:08 PM ^
Sending good vibes to Rod. Get healthy big player
September 16th, 2023 at 7:33 PM ^
Really need him when we play teams with a functional QB
September 16th, 2023 at 7:42 PM ^
Not so much concerned about known quantities if they are just being extra cautious in non conference but someone like Walker who is so raw could definitely use reps against overmatched teams to build technique and confidence. Would hate to have him thrust into a game later in the year that is closer and have a big mistake happen.
September 16th, 2023 at 7:43 PM ^
How is the team this injured this early? Ridiculous.
September 16th, 2023 at 7:51 PM ^
Curious to see Denegal and Örji with reps at QB.
September 16th, 2023 at 8:56 PM ^
There. That's better.
But those lights are messing with me. It makes me think there's a power issue at the stadium.
September 17th, 2023 at 3:28 AM ^
It's like we are fencing with one hand behind our back.
