Hike Mart, mustachioed…

Hike Mart, mustachioed former RB at Slippery Rock.

This should tell everyone…

This should tell everyone exactly what OSU really thinks about Signgate when they're not talking to the public.

So you're literally saying…

So you're literally saying Nobody's got it better than us?

This joke would be a lot more convincing if I didn't have "Boston" in my handle.

I think about the fried…

I think about the fried artichokes at LEAST once a week.

I don't think anyone here is…

I don't think anyone here is gonna argue that it was a good thing. But the word you're using is important: acceptable.

To answer that question, it requires context. In the middle of the Super Bowl, after a tough turnover on a play Kelce felt he should've been in on...the answer is yeah, it's acceptable. Doesn't mean it's good, but you give stars like Kelce a certain amount of latitude for stuff like this, especially when it wasn't malicious.

Good? No. Acceptable, as in "able to be accepted without further consequences given the situation"? Yeah.

But your comment he was…

But your comment he was responding to was about Moore as a recruiter.

Do I think it's the absolute…

Do I think it's the absolute best-case scenario? No. But it's a fine hire. One thing I like about it in particular is the fact that Sherrone won't have to manage Martindale much and gives him a MASSIVELY experienced DC in his first-ever head coaching job.

This means he can give Martindale autonomy and learn FROM HIM about how to manage a defense on the job. To me, this is a sign that Moore wants to keep improving and is thinking about this in the long term.

A wealth of experience his first couple years will help him a) get established with the defense with a known quantity and b) make a better hire when Martindale leaves after a couple years having equipped Moore with a new set of tools to move forward.

This is surprising. I feel…

This is surprising. I feel like one more year would've really opened up his possibilities. Either way, best of luck to him. He has a chance to be an impact player in the NFL.

This is a really interesting…

This is a really interesting way of thinking about it, and one I had considered but wasn't sure how to articulate. Maybe I'm not giving Saban enough credit.

Oh yeah. I legitimately…

Oh yeah. I legitimately forgot about him. Completely.

Ack.

*Warinner. My bad.

Ack.

*Warinner.

I also said "develop, train, and develop", but I didn't need the rule of three.

My bad.

Well, think of it this way:…

Well, think of it this way: they'll have coordinator money because now they don't have to pay their head coach $16M a year. If they don't open up the coffers for Moore's coordinators, it's gonna be a terrible look.

I think Harbaugh coming out…

I think Harbaugh coming out and endorsing Moore is a great step toward "doing it right." I don't actually know that there's much else to do differently, but I'm interested to hear what doing it right would look like for you.

If there's a search now, all…

If there's a search now, all hell breaks loose.

Yes, correct. The same Eric…

Yes, correct. The same Eric Bieniemy who played for the Chargers at the beginning of his career, led multiple offenses among the best in the league, and was a key name in head coaching searches for the better part of the last 3 years.

If you're gonna cherrypick, at least make it interesting.

Eric Bieniemy would be such…

Eric Bieniemy would be such a home run hire for the Chargers.

Oh man, Jerry Jones and…

Oh man, Jerry Jones and Harbaugh would be like oil and napalm.

It seems like he would've…

It seems like he would've seen plenty of the field given the current WR corps...This plus the move back home makes me think it's not just about his place on the depth chart.

This is not a negative, btw. Sometimes kids need different things. If being closer to your support system is what you need, that's completely valid.

Damn I think you win the…

Damn I think you win the thread.

Star Defensive Back wearing …

Two *similar* Michigan big plays served as defining moments (Griese to Streets x2, Edwards x2)

Both Washington opponents were held under 1/2 of their season average in points.

Been seeing it more and more…

Been seeing it more and more recently. Everyone I know keeps talking about how all these women are serving Kant.

Holy shit please tell me…

Holy shit please tell me Donovan Edwards has just been slow-rolling everyone

This feels a lot less…

This feels a lot less terrible when it happens to someone I don't like.

The fact that there's back…

The fact that there's back and forth about this is proof that this entire move was pointless and they forced their starter to transfer while making precisely zero appreciable gains at QB.

This is clearly a last resort after losing out on Ward or whoever else they were after. Total desperation move.

Came here to say this.

Came here to say this.

Simply put, the defense is…

Simply put, the defense is the reason Michigan won today. Bailed special teams out of some tight spots, held strong in key moments, forced a HUGE turnover...the entire road to victory went through them.

There's no coaching snowflakes thread as I'm writing this so I'll add: Minter coached his ass off. Absolutely killer game from him.

You have utterly bonkers…

You have utterly bonkers expectations about the maturity and decision-making of 17 and 18-year-old kids. I don't even think there are many players on Michigan's current roster who would live up to them if you saw the entire process.

I don't know if you're…

I don't know if you're talking to me on this because the formatting is tough to tell. However, if you are: I wasn't saying I had any superior knowledge whatsoever. I was saying that he has no insight into what my life experience is or what I know, because I am (as you said) a poster on the internet. He made an assumption that I haven't seen these parts of life. He's mistaken, but the point isn't what I know. It's that he knows nothing about me.

Yeah it's not like Chicago…

Yeah it's not like Chicago has a thriving food scene, awesome music, great cocktails, fun shopping, solid pizza (Pequod's only, thanks), 6 major sports teams (including soccer), decently reliable transit, a world-class artistic culture, and a fun and exciting blend of cultures that give it a unique personality.

People want to lean on gang violence in Chicago like it's the identifying characteristic of the city when it's not even in the 25 most dangerous places in the U.S. It's not even as dangerous as Indianapolis in homicide rate.

Fun talking point, though. Also Joliet sucks.

You’re embarrassing.

You’re embarrassing.

I agree with that too…

I agree with that too. However, if something does happen, I don't think those types of things are worth discussing. They can have their lives and we don't have to be involved.

I didn't say anything about…

I didn't say anything about random or not random. If a kid grows up in a bad neighborhood in a dangerous city, it's not random at all. There are going to be people like this in his life. And some kids are going to be very close to people like that. This is true of Michigan players, OSU players, Oregon St. players, etc.

Acting like the kid's doing something wrong by simply being in his home town with people he was close with growing up is not a good look. He's still a Freshman. It takes a long time to remove these types of connections from your life, and if you grow up where this is what you know, it's not even a deal breaker as long as they don't try to get you to do anything illegal.

All I'm saying is this: focus blame where it belongs. Solely on the person who did the shooting. That's it. I'm done talking about this.

This is an absurd statement…

This is an absurd statement. You don't control where you grow up, and Joliet, IL isn't exactly a great place to be. You don't just "avoid associating" with people you've known your whole life, and sometimes things aren't that simple.

Honestly dude, don't fucking talk to me about what "parts of life" I know. You know precisely dick about where I grew up and what I know.

Your handle *is* "The Oracle 2". Is this just part of your shtick of pretending you know things when actually talking out of your ass?

If you happen to think that…

If you happen to think that it's pretty universally not ok for someone to bust in and try to shoot someone, it doesn't matter how often or seldom it happens OR what they were doing inside.

Listen, I'm all for lessons…

Listen, I'm all for lessons/consequences when someone makes a questionable choice, but if you're in a home and someone comes in shooting, the only person at fault is the shooter. Don't give me the "in with the wrong crowd" nonsense, either. You know nothing about this kid's life, so just wish for a swift recovery and leave it at that. Everything else is gross.

"He can run over your DBs…

"He can run over your DBs and your linebackers can’t catch him.”

...Not for nothing, but isn't this exactly what Michael Barrett is for?

I personally find it…

I personally find it interesting that people are missing the fact that Sanderson's initial (alleged) move was an HR problem too.

Talking shit to a player about the coach (even if it is his dad) isn't exactly appropriate. Do I think he's right? Yeah, probably. But that doesn't mean you can just rattle that off publicly. Address it with the coach. Don't use it against the player.

Howard's escalation was clearly a bigger problem, but it didn't make sense for it to turn into HR.

*Nope

*Nope

I’m guessing this is the…

I’m guessing this is the kind of thing that would be communicated between Stokes and the coaches. With Cabana and Hall waiting in the wings, it’s possible he’d be #3 again.

Edit: beaten to the punch by like 3 seconds

Why? He can stay if he wants…

Why? He can stay if he wants to. Our DL will be sure to welcome him with open arms.

Harrison has absolutely…

Harrison has absolutely nothing to learn from playing in college another year. As others have said, if he stays, he's doing it wrong.

With his ceiling as a…

With his ceiling as a receiver and a runner, I think he could be a game breaker the way Marshall Faulk was. He has flashes of it, but it's a matter of helping him figure it out.

You're right. I was just…

You're right. I was just couching for no real reason. I definitely think he had an off year.

Came here to say the same…

Came here to say the same thing. I'm willing to bet he wants a year to redeem himself for what many perceive as an off year. A season as THE feature back would be a nice thing for him...

Players only been able to…

Players have only been able to wear Zero for a couple years, but it's up there with 1 & 2, as far as I'm concerned.
