you know there was a bunch of shitting on UM in the past for bringing in rich suburban kids who were supposedly soft and not hungry and would get pushed around by scrappy kids.

say that again, now, to stuebers face

Iowa’s C is being projected in the top 10 of some NFL mocks so makes sense but I’d imagine Vastardis has got to be the 2nd team choice. Imagining Blake Corum and Erick All have to get nods in the 2nd or 3rd team as well.

How can the BIG determine a 1st team list when some are only coaches, some are only media, and less than half are choices by both?

JSN not being on this list makes this list meaningless - he is the best slot in the country and there is no #2 that I can think of.

How could anyone watch OSU play this year and have Chris Olave over JSN?  I guess they made it a lifetime achievement award.

Should I be as surprised as I am that All isn't on this list? How good are these other dudes (Ferguson and Allen). We played both of those teams and I don't recall being super impressed with what they did.

Have watched a ton of big ten football this year I feel like Dotson, Smith-Njigda, and Wilson were all better then Olave.  I feel like him getting first time was based on reputation.

The counting stats have been nice and all, but it's still hilarious to me that OSU has had the All-B1G QB for both the media and coaches every year since 2013, except 2015 when Connor Cook won it.

I do wonder if at some point the OSU guys start getting labeled as "system" QBs to an extent because they all put up gaudy numbers and then when they go to the NFL the general consensus is "man, these guys have a lot of work to do" when it comes to being able to read defenses and handle pressure.  Stroud's young so he has potential to improve but it has been an assembly line of these guys since Meyer came to town and basically all of them have underwhelmed when they don't have huge talent advantages over their opponents.

It makes sense. Elite QB play wins championships. Think about our struggles with OSU over that time, and how those struggles have coincided with our struggles at QB. Think about Clemson, despite all the 4 and 5* recruits, when they don't have an NFL 1st Round QB (Watson and then Lawrence).

Also, think about the overall sad sack of QB play the B1G has had over that span. It's not like OSU has had much competition, and Durkin and Don Brown absolutely feasted on bad QB play...

What if.......Haskins had been a feature back all season, instead of just the last four games?

Stats for the last four games: 26.5 carries for 143yds/game and 2tds per game. Over a 12 game season that would total 318 carries, 1,716 yds, 24 tds. Well over what KWIII had this season and just under the UM single season rushing(1,818) and td(26) records.

I don’t know that those numbers would have been achieved (or even possibly exceeded) if Haskins had been THE rb every game, or even if Michigan would have lost a game or two more because of that, but it’s interesting to look at and wonder “what if?”

Hey how about our two young DTs Mazi and Hinton rounding into form and getting mention!

Their development this year should not be underestimated in our defensive performance.
