Nice.
September 11th, 2022 at 7:46 AM ^
Very nice!
What was great too was that McCarthy showed Jadyn Davis what the offense looks like with a 5* guy behind center. I was concerned after the CSU game that there was too much short stuff and conservative throws (only 1 throw all day 10+ yards downfield) that it might scare away the last best chance at a top tier QB recruit in the next two cycles.
September 11th, 2022 at 8:24 AM ^
Jadyn Davis, Dante Moore, potato potato.
September 11th, 2022 at 11:10 AM ^
Moore tweeted about JJ and Edwards looking good then deleted the tweet. Do with that what you will, but he was apparently watching
September 11th, 2022 at 9:04 AM ^
Jadyn would have also heard the fans booing (was reported to happen but I wasn't there) a B1G Champion winning QB.
September 11th, 2022 at 10:45 AM ^
No idea why you're getting negged when literally two comments down folks are confirming from the game that there were boos.
September 11th, 2022 at 3:43 PM ^
Because negging is online booing and we like to boo.
September 11th, 2022 at 1:45 AM ^
Did not imagine the qb competition could be over this quickly and decisively. Really hope michigan fans show some class and don’t rip into cade too much. Feel terrible for him. But I’ve literally never seen anyone kill it like jj today, even considering the baby seal competition. Not a single mistake or non perfect throw. Sky is absolutely the limit.
September 11th, 2022 at 1:49 AM ^
According to twitter there were boos and chants of "we want JJ" raining down every time he took the field...
Edit** My mom was at the game and confirmed this.
September 11th, 2022 at 2:04 AM ^
That's too bad, I remember the "Ryan Mallett" chants in 2007. Henne didnt deserve that and Cade doesnt deserve that either.

NFL goggles paint sepia memories of Brady at Michigan. JJ is no Brady in a good way as Cade was these past weeks in a bad way.
September 11th, 2022 at 8:56 AM ^
What?
September 11th, 2022 at 10:40 AM ^
Brady was pretty great at Michigan by the end of the '98 season and pretty much all of the '99 season. By the end he was carving up Alabama's defense in the Orange Bowl.
September 11th, 2022 at 7:19 AM ^
Dude, not past tense. Henne is STILL in the league as Mahomes’s backup.
September 11th, 2022 at 9:25 AM ^
LOL Chad Henne is still in the NFL.
September 11th, 2022 at 5:09 AM ^
I don’t understand the need by fans to trash Cade. Very stupid and short sighted.
September 11th, 2022 at 5:31 AM ^
Trash and hold. We need a viable #2. Bowman and Warren have trash time made a case.
Leaders lead. Cade's trouble doesn't come from JJ. An injury puts our O in sputter mode? Why Warren in that case? Snaps are precious.
No trash, just progress. Down the field. Leaders lead.
September 11th, 2022 at 7:57 AM ^
What are you even talking about?
September 11th, 2022 at 8:04 AM ^
Its an AI bot. That's why it makes no sense.
September 11th, 2022 at 8:41 AM ^
that comedian who did bot Olive Garden commercials needs to make a bot JH presser.
September 11th, 2022 at 10:42 AM ^
Sextus needs to post these in the original Latin
September 11th, 2022 at 8:12 AM ^
Football.
The only person holding Cade back is Cade. He needs to use the trash talk and figure this out. Captains lead through adversity.
September 11th, 2022 at 12:00 PM ^
Here you go. I just got your “Shut The Hell Up” card laminated.
September 11th, 2022 at 8:34 AM ^
Leaders lead because leading is leadership. Duh. You're too simple to get it

This is a drink man right here. As the kids say, "Go to bed."
September 11th, 2022 at 11:42 AM ^
This reads like a telegram.
September 11th, 2022 at 7:35 AM ^
Well if McNamara heard that chant (and I’m sure he did), I wouldn’t blame him at all if he decided right then and there “once this season is over, fuck you guys, I’m out of here.”
It seems like JJ is the better fit right now, but I feel awful for McNamara. He led this team to heights last year that Michigan hasn’t had in two decades, and within nine months he’s just a backup while the stadium is yelling and screaming to put the other guy in. When McNamara is in the game no less.
I know that would affect my ability to play for sure. So I personally won’t fault Cade if it did for him. If he decides to leave once the season is over, I hope he can go somewhere where he can start and put up some really good numbers.
September 11th, 2022 at 7:45 AM ^
Pay them more money than the average American to play college football and then continue to treat them like children.
September 11th, 2022 at 9:10 AM ^
Cade had the opportunity to be the #1 QB and didn't take it, He was inaccurate in the spring game (JJ wasn't available and he got to play for both teams.. What is the excuse for that?) He was meh against CSU and was meh yesterday. If anything he has regressed since OSU. We saw what it looks like with him against elite competition against Georgia.
If he can't handle a QB competition or deal with some boos what is that saying about his mental makeup being the starting QB going forward? He is not as talented as JJ or Warren and maybe this offense can be effective without the running threat at QB but it can't be consistently effective with a QB that can't (or doesn't want to) make throws to the field side or take shots downfield.
If he transfers because of this Michigan will be fine with JJ and Warren next year.
September 11th, 2022 at 10:32 AM ^
It's all "business." Sorry Cade. You gotta bring it.
September 11th, 2022 at 1:09 PM ^
There’s a big difference between a fan just acknowledging “hey, the other guy is better” and said fan actively booing the other guy in his own stadium.
There’s nothing wrong with acknowledging that McCarthy looks like the better option right now. I also agree that Cade should be able to brush off and compartmentalize the criticism he receives.
But his own fans booing him? In his own stadium? And not for some terrible thing he did off the field, fighting with a teammate/coach or flicking off a ref. Just for how he played the game.
Not going to apologize for saying that is fucking bush league, and it says more about the fans who partook in it than it does Cade’s abilities.
If you were okay with, or even endorsed Cade getting booed under those circumstances, then…..yeesh, pal. Yeesh.
September 11th, 2022 at 3:03 PM ^
Not going to make excuses for fans but booing because you want player X doesn't mean that it is a personal attack against player Y. I think people on this board are taking this harder than Cade is which is kind of weird to be honest.
I wasn't there and never heard it on the broadcast but I would be interested to know the context of the boos - like was it when Cade went in during the 2nd quarter? etc. The crowd in general wants to see the more exciting player especially when they are rolling in the first half - I very much doubt this was a personal attack at Cade because it really doesn't make it sense to boo him personally.
September 11th, 2022 at 8:08 AM ^
There was almost a fight in lower part of 12 (I was nearby and not involved for the record) between two asshats over the Cade / JJ situation 🤦🏻♂️
September 11th, 2022 at 9:18 AM ^
Of all the things people might to choose to fight about, that has to be very low on the list.
September 11th, 2022 at 11:51 AM ^
That sounds like a lions silverdome game
September 11th, 2022 at 12:55 PM ^
Or an old Pistons game at the Silverdome, when team mascot Rocky the Rooster would get into scuffles with fans in the stands.
September 11th, 2022 at 8:33 AM ^
That's too bad. Classless and honestly embarrassing look.
September 11th, 2022 at 9:21 AM ^
Complete and total bullshit.
September 11th, 2022 at 10:57 AM ^
Hate to break it to you. Your mom wasn't at the game.
September 11th, 2022 at 4:50 PM ^
I wasn't saying they didn't boo, I'm saying it's bullshit that they did.
September 11th, 2022 at 2:09 AM ^
Brady vs Alabama in the Orange Bowl and Rudock vs Florida in the Citrus Bowl come to mind as the only other ones I can think of
September 11th, 2022 at 2:38 AM ^
Anyone paying attention knew it was only a matter of time before McCarthy overtook McNamara with that high ceiling. This outcome didn't surprise me at all, considering the competition, and I expect to see a similar outing against UConn. If he can play like this once the B1G season starts that should silence any doubters.
September 11th, 2022 at 7:44 AM ^
Cade had never been lights out, but I feel as if he has underwhelmed well below his ability this year, because the pressure of JJ coming up behind him.
I thought JJ would win out, but I didn't see Cade struggling this bad to inferior competition.
September 11th, 2022 at 9:00 AM ^
Hassan Haskins was the MVP last year, he consistently, regularly, and thoroughly put the offense on his shoulders.
Cade was exactly what he needed to be, and asked to be, in order to win the B1G. And no one can ever take that away from him.
But this years offense, is not last years offense. And if JJ is the best player complimenting the 2022-roster (he clearly is), then JJ it is.
Cade is what we needed him to be when we needed him to be it, in 2021 (including some sprinkling of JJ)
JJ looks to be what we need in 2022
They don't compare because they don't compare.
September 11th, 2022 at 11:57 AM ^
Cade still has 4 of the 10 longest TD passes in Michigan history, and last season had something like the lowest TD / INT ratio of any Michigan quarterback ever and one of the highest completion %. So he took care of the ball, and put it on target. Seems like that's probably why we had the season we did. He was lights out when he needed to be, nothing more, nothing less.
September 11th, 2022 at 3:27 PM ^
Yep. The 95 yd td to Andrel on a 7 yd slant was all cade.
September 11th, 2022 at 7:19 AM ^
Anyone thinking that this QB battle is "over" is very premature. UConn is still an effective exhibition game (and even Maryland after that could be argued). JJ earned the right to be next week's starter, but let's not anoint him for the whole season just yet.
September 11th, 2022 at 8:13 AM ^
A reporter asked Harbaugh if it was JJ going forward and he said ya, JJ has earned it by merit.
