Does Mo Return?

Submitted by BlueWon on

The guy is such a competitor and has played okay tonight but one has to think the result might compel him to come back and give it another run. This team wasn't supposed to do much and made it to the finals.

They would be rock solid next year with him.

My guess is you're a Walverina.

I posted a legitimate question and a little turd's labia got all tied in a knot about it due to some sort of arbitrary timing rule on posting. The other thirty or so people who responded were not so offended.

and if you knew anything you'd have known that.

There are about 10 people who frequent this board who sit back and take pot shots -- congrats, you're in that group of losers.

I of course am not OP. But before the clock hits zero during a tough loss, I'll send my mind elsewhere to emotionally disconnect from the game. I'm honestly too emotional about Michigan sports and it's best for everyone for me to not actually see what it is inevitably about to happen sometimes. I watched some Good Eats on Cooking Channel tonight. I'm still pissed, but not wake everyone up, get in a fight with an ottoman pissed. Different strokes for different folks.

He's gone. If you needed confirmation, Beilein was embracing him with MAAR and Robinson when they came off. But we don't need confirmation. We know he's gone. He can't gain more from college and almost left last year. Now is the time to go, even if he gets a G League 2-way contract or hits Europe.

college is fun, but you only have so many years to make money as a pro and his stock isn't going to get much higher unless he thinks he's gonna come back and be the NPOY. It was fun Mo. Go make some money

money isn't the same. I mean you go to college to get ready for your professional future. So, if he's advised to go, he should leave. But if he needs an advisor to tell him, then the decision isn't certain. The only reason to stay is because you want to experience more winning. Until last night, Moe hadn't reached the pinnacle contest of the college game. Now he has. So, having achieved that, what's more important, doing it again or getting ready to make the leap as a pro?

Either is a risky option, only because its safer to stay and return to what you know in your current environment and what to expect in the process, while moving forward opens  new doors and leading questions to ponder about your ability to succeed at the next level.

I don't think getting paid is the real motivation unless that is what you feel is most important. I think it's about whether you want to take the next step now or later. And I think he'll go because he wants to see what's ahead and begin experiencing it.

our players from leaving early we could dominate but its just never seems to be..its always about the  money

What's annoying is that our guys don't seem to be particularly successful after leaving early. I get the "get paid while you can" logic. But it still sucks losing a guy like DJ Wilson who then averages like 1 point per game in the NBA

The future is bright. Dejulius will be a tough scoring point guard who can play defense, Johns and Brazdeikis are super talented, Nunez is a lights out shooter, Castleton is an elite shot blocker. We'll be fine without Moe.

I think willing us to the semifinal win damn near by himself was a major factor tonight.  He definitely fatigued.  That sequence about six minutes into the game when he made two very bad mistakes because he was visibly gassed was when I thought we were fucked.  We did a nice job to keep it up for about 12, but we looked tired, and Wagner looked especially tired.  They left everything out there in the semis and Villanova is not the team to play against when you're tired.

I told my girlfriend before that game that the only way UM had a chance was for the entire lineup to be on fire, like a fully loaded gun.

Unfortunately, Robinson was an empty chamber. And after his game against Loyola, I didn't expect Matthews to disappear like a Vegas magician. On a night when everyone needed to show up, they didn't.

But to be fair, with the way Nova played, I doubt it would have made much difference.

She agreed, and added that it would also be helpful if Nova came out flat. "Maybe they used up all their threes against Kansas."

Unfortunately, by midway through the second half, she changed that to "It looks like we used all our threes up against Texas A&M."

Sometimes I hate it when she's right.

Don’t know. But if he does come back, given what we’ve seen from Livers, Poole, Simpson, Teske, and the plethora of talent getting on campus this summer, we’re in prime condition to make another run next season too.

Beilein took him out with the two seniors.  Think that says everything.

And he should go get his.

If he was back, we're probably pre-season top ten and the Big Ten favorite.  Think we might be the Big Ten favorite anyway, but we've gotta find some scoring.

I think we'll be in better shape next year scoring-wise. Poole, Teske, Matthews, and Livers are all going to make considerable jumps with having a year in the system and with as much experience under their belts as they've had this year. We'll see about Brooks and Watson, but a full offseason at Camp Sanderson will help them too. I'm sure they'll be contributors.

Then the great class we've got coming in will only help the situation. I remember reading that Brazdeikis could be our next Stauskas and has arguably a higher ceiling (a ceiling higher than B1G POTY? YES PLEASE!). I know they'll just be freshmen, but so were McGary, GRIII, Stauskas, LeVert and Albrecht during our last title run. They all made huge contributions.

I doubt Wagner comes back, partially because I don't know if his stock gets any higher than what it is now, but if he does come back, this team is all the better for it.

We don't have a scholarship without maneuvering or a defection if he stays. I assume Beilein would make that happen, but I don't think it will come to that.
