Crummy Week Posbang

Submitted by The Fugitive on

Title says it all.  MRW when I think about how un-fun yesterday was but realize we can bang this morning:

Let's console each other with some week end internet relations.

A pos bangin' ain't much, but it will have to do for now.
To all that have problems bigger than losing a hoops game or losing an assistant coach, hang in there. Your M Go family is thinking of you.

from Harvey flooding (90% out of my own pocket)... flood policy and 'excess loss flood' policies only picked up about 10%

...so don't get me started on insurance companies and their heartless white collar criminal antics (SOP)

Lost a really good friend to cancer last night. She was 39 and leaves a husband and 3 young sons. She was a great example of God's love to everyone she met. She will be greatly missed but her testimony will carry on through all of us who loved her.

I had a great first date last night; it kept me from having to have my heart broken over a bball game... Also, I was never really on-board with the Enos hire anyway....plus it's Friday...sooo bang me, baby!

M loss to Purdue, Red Wings booed off the ice heading into the all-star break, Pistons have lost I'm not-even-sure-how-many straight games...but on the bright side, pitchers and catchers report in only 17 days, and at least the Tigers...uh, nevermind

I started the week in the ER late Sunday night / early Monday morning for my 3 year old son's breathing, then back to the pediatrician Wednesday morning after he spiked a 103.5 temperate.  The little guy is resting up and feeling better now which is the most important thing, but in a shocking twist I somehow got sick mystelf after spending hours around sick kids.

I have been in a few contentious meetings throughout the week, which are the sort of meetings that I cannot stand and get my blood pressure to places where my cardiologist would rather it was not. Bearing that in mind, my only wish is for my Friday to be....low-key, uneventful and even, for the first time this week, a cordial day.

As for last night, it didn't help my mood, but yet again, we stayed in a game that a lot of predictive analytics said that we would not.

My daughter's Christmas present arrived yesterday. An 8-week Aussiedoodle (Australian Shepherd/Poodle mix). Not a better feeling in the world than seeing your child moved to tears of happiness.

Expectations have come down to earth; lower expecations often lead to higher levels of satisfaction. Men's basketball has had a very rough stretch of games and is looking very competitive with many winnable games coming up. Women's basketbal is having one of their best seasons ever. Football is returning a tremendous amount of talent with a very hungry coaching staff that appears to have been humbled. Hockey is trending up with a great coachign staff.  We still have Coach Hutch.  Manuel has shown that he will only tolerate coaches who have us in the B1G hunt. We are doing things cleanly, and we do not have any despicable black eyes like some of our rivals. I believe that Michigan is about to enter a period of greatness.

positive sports action to lift the spirits...lost my job in the fall, dad fell down a flight of stairs, mom broke her hip, and on Monday my car broke to the tune of "needs a new motor, sir." These kids that put on the maize and blue; I hope they get just how much they mean to us as distractions from some of the stuff of life that sucks!

Game last night didn’t end great but Michigan basketball is still fun to watch.

Watched it with my best friend from Ann Arbor. Got half-day Friday’s. We’re going to Mexico for a little road trip this weekend. Cheap beer and fish tacos to drown away all sorrows.
