Crummy Week Posbang

Submitted by The Fugitive on

Title says it all.  MRW when I think about how un-fun yesterday was but realize we can bang this morning:

Let's console each other with some week end internet relations.

For the first time in a number of years, I am overwhelmed with apathy as regards the upcoming football year. So-so recruiting class, offensive coaching staff (thus far) very uninspiring given 2017 results, tough road schedule, etc. Too depressed to even look for any Friday GIFs. Please bang me!

MAAR is amazing! Many of the Ent 'n friends are graduating! Michigan is 5 points away from 3 top-5 wins! We don't need no stinkin' Enos! Dude tans like his mascot, The Situation!

I've been following MAAR for a long time.  Such a good story.

My former Director had a son that played AAU ball with MAAR in Allentown PA.  He told me that MAAR was going to go to Michigan before it was public info.  I was like "Who?".

It took me numerous times to learn his proper name.

From that point on, being a Michigan fan earned me big time points with my Director, who would bypass my direct boss and come talk to me all the time.

Don't ever let anybody tell you that big-time sports programs don't benefit anyone but the athletes and coaches.  Being a Michigan fan has had a direct tangible positive benefit for me as just an ordinary schmoo, and it is because of its elite sports programs.

It certainly does break down the barriers of the boss-subordinate relationship, and provides some common ground to just talk as humans.  That's when you get to know people - you may, or may not, like them as friends to just talk with later, but that foundation does get put in place.

/Steps off philosophical stool

I used to spend enough time on the road for work that I had to take photos of my hotel room numbers. Introductions through Michigan friends/fans/colleagues and catching games with strangers in random cities/airports really helped make that "it's always 68 degrees and the walls are off-white" blur much more bearable. Even something like a stray Go Blue from a passerby if I was running in some M gear could make all the difference sometimes.

The fall months and the holidays (easily the best time of year) fly by and the winter months that follow are agozingly slow. It's not even signing day yet wtf

For my sanity, BANG ME PLEASE
