I remember when JH was hired there was an article about him.  One the the major points was that his wierdness is cute and amusing but what happens when he starts losing?

I think we are starting to get an answer.

it's losing. This fanbase (and I imagine same goes for all teams) has elements that would turn on any coach in a down year. There's no character trait that would insulate a coach against the anger of that crowd.

Agreed, that doesn’t mean it won’t happen. He just doesn’t seem to care as much as he did. For whatever reason I feel like he is gone. Bears job is open he would be their savior and Michigan fans would never forgive him but if he brought a Super Bowl championship to Chicago how long would his name be tarnished

Get in someone who can coach offense. Harbaugh needs to let them have a good amount of control and be able to establish a pulse. Never would have guess in 2014 when hired his offense would look this terrible on Jan 1st 2018.

in the mirror, at his offensive staff, and what they're all doing before next season.  Then make a bunch of changes.  Because today's loss should not have happened.  They were ahead 19-3 deep into the 3rd quarter and simply collapsed.  Everyone.  And that has to be on the coaches.  Blame Peters for constantly not being able to make plays.  But he and the other QB's have had enough time with this staff (you would have thought) to not be playing at this level.

This is probably the biggest collapse by a Michigan team in the last 40 years.  I'm just numb after watching that 4th quarter.  Time to drink heavily.

He could start with an apology to his players and fans.  Then he should promise to make substantiative changes in his coaching staff.  Throw some stuff and then walk out.

Lloyd Carr won a national title and multiple Big 10 championships. He went to Rose Bowls and played top competition and won some of those. We lost to South Carolina. Did you hear the game broadcast when they said this was a program that has only won 9+ games in a season 5 times before this year. Six total seasons with 9+ wins. C'mon. It wasn't Alabama or Southern Cal we were playing out there. Lloyd would've wiped the floor with these clowns.

He is correct this is Lloyd Redux, but without the loss to App State yet!  The play calling is not to lose and way to conservative, which was a staple of Lloyd's teams.  In fact the National Championship was in an era when you didn't have to play the #2 team so we don't really know what Michigan won other than an undefeated season.  That undefeated season occurred because of a dominant Defense.  It wasn't the offense!

Also, the B1G was bad when Lloyd was winning.  The only other decent team was OSU and once they got a good coach (Tressel), Michigan couldn't beat them.  Now the B1G is one of the best conferences in the country, Lloyd would lose big in this version of the B1G!

No offensive creativity.  So dissapointoing.  19-3 and you lose!   I'm sad that I sent in my PSD already. I thoght we were buying some offensive coaching, but alas no.

How about no more beach parties until Michigan has a fully successfull season? I don't think that was why today happened, but it's emblematic to a lot of people.

Pride comes before the fall.  He put his buddy in as OC who had no D1 experience as an OC.  If he does not demote or fire Drevno, next year is written off.  As for Peters, love that he chose Michigan but he doesn't have the requisite fire for a Michigan starting QB which is why he sat behind Speight and O'korn.  Dude just seems like he's out for a leisurely stroll, putting every second pass at the receiver's ankles.

Patterson is our starting QB next year and again, if Drevno remains as OC, write the year off with the brutal schedule looming.

Patterson has ability but was slow in making reads or decisions. I am guessing that some of this is coaching, some playcalling.

I do think McCaffery has more pure talent, but it won't matter which guy is under center next year if the offensive staff is not completely rebuilt.

The shine has worn off JH. He and his staff are flawed. They deserve the inevitable criticism that will be coming. They need to answer, but today I don't care what they have to say.

In what world does a HC get away with paying an inexperienced son $250,000/year?

This cannot be written off as it is emblematic of the overall mindset under Harbaugh.

He has a year more IMO -- there is no excuse for the offense he put out there today. Thank God we have a pro in Don Brown on the other side of the ball.

There were games in rich rods and hokes tenure that I lost all hope in their staffs. Today is the day I realized harbaugh will never get it done here.. Too bad..

Harbaugh unfrotunately is part of whatever bug infected this program 15+ years ago.  His resume says he's a great coach.  His performance at Michigan has been...not great.  Until we realize that the Michigan of old is never coming back, we'll never be good again.  Fire everyone.  Start over without a single "Michigan man."  Heck.  Might as well change the helmets.  Change everything.

Think about the coaches in the B1G this year and ask yourself where Harbaugh would rank?  I have him 8th.

You don't fire Harbaugh, there needs to be continuity in the coaching.  The destabliliztion of the program was started by Carr.  Carr let recruiting slip before he was done.  He was supposedly opposed to Les Miles, so much so he encourage RR to pursue the job. He then supposedly told players they should transfer (i.e. Mallet) before even talking with Rodriguez.  The lack of support for RR when he was interim AD through his silence was deafening!

The different camps that formed because of the Miles debacle were the start of the cancer that is here today.  If results are not National Championships after 3 years the fanbase becomes ridiculously divided.  Nothing will change if the coaching situation is unstable every 3 years.  Kids are committing asuming they will be with their coaches for the 3-5 years they remain at the school.

Time for the fanbase to stand down and let the process play out.  Last year the entire MSU fanbase wanted Dantonio to fire his staff and questioned if his time was over?  Not looking at it that way this year after a great turnaround.

Take a look at the OSU boards, they have fans there that think Urban needs to go.  Think about that!   Emotion is great, but it can be irrational.  The fans think they

The best part - the only good part - of this game was Chase Winovich helping raise over $200K for ChadTough!  That was good coaching of the alumni by Chase.

The rest of the coaching sucked, even the D from the moment Higdon fumbled on.

The only good play by an offensive player in the entire game was Higdon's run down to the 1 yard line.  Apart from that, whenever one of our players had a chance to make a play, it did not happen.  We need more players who can make plays when you need a play.  We need more plays designed to let us pick up that last X yards into the endzone when we really need it.  Drevno cannot seem to design any of those plays.

I think Patterson transferring got in peters head. I never thought peters played great but he was good. He played completely different. He wanted to make a statement and failed. He needs to worry about him and what he can control and not force anything. He played scared at times then tried to force throws. But harbaugh needs to wake up and realize this offensive coaching staff reached its ceiling and isn't gonna get us to the next level. He needs to find new spots for drevno and Hamilton and find someone who can add to harbaughs playbook. Not someone harbaugh has worked with. The other team is gonna catch on if we don't add some wrinkles to our game plans. I'm sure harbaugh will make changes. Never expected him to do so during the season cuz that's a huge risk if it makes things worse

I'm sorry but if he couldn't handle the competition with Patterson, then how would he be able to handle hostle away games at ND, MSU and OSU.  He is just not up to the challenge.  He showed no leadership ability when the chips were down.

He had no game awareness or defensive awareness. Just totally spaced out.
