I saw it. Not impressed. Angry. Thoughts?

Huge Star Wars fan.  6/10 on the first viewing.

I'm seeing it tomorrow in RealD, which should add a bit.

Some things are jaw droppingly cool and unexpected.  Others are... questionable.

Just saw it.

It is awesome. No questions, hands-down, great film. Haven't felt that way walking out of a theater since Mad Max: Fury Road. Totally amped. 10/10.

I can't imagine anyone disliking this movie or coming away from it unimpressed - unless that person has come down with a severe case of hipsterism. Dilly dilly, my friends.

Why do you say that ? I'm a huge Star Wars fan, and Disney buying LucasFilm is one of the happiest momemnts of my entertainment life. I love what Kathleen Kennedy has done. And I love what Bob Iger has done in the parks as well.

Despite absolutely despising in every possible way the dreck that was Force Awakens, I impulsively purchased a ticket to the 11:40 pm showing of Last Jedi at the emagine theater in Saline. Nice theater, all recliners, Chicago Mix popcorn. But I'm dithering. Is this one different enougn from the formulaic predictability of Force Awakens to justify trekking out to Saline from A2 after the wife and kid go to bed? Or should I just eat the $11 as a sunk cost, Netflix and chill, and get some sleep?

How about this: white and red is the new white and black? That white and red, it's salty.

Or how about Hux, thanks to writer Rian Johnson, laying down some amazing, Joss Whedon-level diction and wordplay with his use of "obliterate" when talking about a Resistance starship?

It's a serious movie, an artful movie, and a very thoughtful movie.

Disney has trashed SW.  The stuff that takes places in TLJ has literally rendered the first-six SW movies meaningless.  Disney is wandering in the woods with the new SW movies.

Lucas wrote awful dialog and directed awful acting for the prequels, but at least the plot and story of the prequels felt like Star Wars.  Lucas kept his universe together, and stayed true to his characters.  TFA and especially TLJ dont feel like Star Wars movies.  Disney has wrecked all the OT characters.  TFA and TLJ are just trash space-opera flicks.  Neither are SW films.  Lucas was creating a mythology: Disney threw that out the window.  Lucas gave us a morality play of light vs dark and why each existed: Disney simply doesnt want to bother with that kind of depth.  Lucas made characters which would last generations.  Is there a SW character Disney has created which anyone will remember 50 years from now?

Star Wars is over...well at least it should be (and I use to be a FANATICAL SW fan.)  Dont see The last Jedi.  Save your money.

Entertaining. But I think it was one of the worst SW movies. Not quite as bad as Ep I & II, but not nearly on the same level as originals for me. I liked Force Awakens better than this one, even though it was essentially A New Hope. Not sure why this one is getting hyped so much.

Yeah, hard to really relate this to the force awakens wasn’t it? The vibe and everything about it was totally more like the first few prequel movies. Also what’s the huge sell on episode 9? Don’t you feel like it wouldn’t bother you if it was three or four years away? Normally you want the next one to come ASAP. I think this episode was a failure as well. In a few years it will be a jar jar joke not to be mentioned in the same breath as the first three or rouge one.

If Finn storyline gets cut this is a 9.5 but with its 8.5. Saw a 1105 showing and walked out at 2am. Luke was strange at first but huge payoff at least for me. My favorite part of the movie. Mark Hamill was great.

Yeah and if you didn’t like this movie, you didn’t like episode 1. It’s okay to be critical of Star Wars and there’s enough here to be overly critical for a long time. I’m not so sure the problem for me is that the big three (Rey,Finn and Poe) aren’t a little lackluster. They sure as hell don’t compare to what we’ve traded them for and now they don’t have anyone left to hold them up. At least Driver can act.

I am looking forward to it. No matter what, I doubt I am going to be "Angry"!

Some of them have been better than others, but I have enjoyed them all.  They are all fun to watch, and Good triumphs over Evil more often than 1 time in 14 years.
