I like the wordsmithing.  Yes, "admissions" can me considered close in terms of percent accepted.  As to programs? Not even close.  GT and Emory are on par with Michigan. not.  GT's engineering program is better than Michigan's, and so is Emory's medical.  Your thoughts about college rankings aside, we are talking about comparing the best programs in the country and their respective specialties. Georgia is...not that.

The comparison of Georgia Tech and Emory to UGA is not that far off from the comparison of Michigan to Michigan State in terms of academics. It's an SEC School.

Umm, I am surprised and happy by this?  Just saw the score.  How exactly are we up 30 on Nova?

10/24/2018 - 5:16pm I see you are not familiar…

I see you are not familiar with the ACC.

It is called "clemsoning" - the act of pulling a Clemson.  Google it.  They will lose.  Why?  Because they are Clemson.  Clemson always loses one ridiculous game...except for that one year.  Think of it as the ACC version of "Sparty No!"

Because of the intolerable attitude, name calling, hypocrisy, and total lack of insight.  umbig11 has built up a good reputation over time.  You have not.

As mostly a lurker I want to say:  the vast majority of people around here really, really appreciate your insider perspective.  Although it is of course your perogative to post what you wish when you wish, I also want to encourage you not to let the worst of the worst dictate your posts.

It's like twitter: 1% of the people (or less) make everyone look like crazy people.  The problem being those people are most likely to comment.

No matter what happens, I for one feel lucky to have someone like you on the blog.  Have always enjoyed your comments, both positive and negative.  Also - everyone should get off twitter.  Seriously.

No one remembers this part of the schedule in 2 months - or 2 weeks.  So win by 1 point for the soft part of the schedule, don't give anything away you do not have to.

If Harbs has new and creative playcalling down the stretch, that means he has learned his lessons from previous years.  Some wins matter the most.  Pull a sparty against sparty.  The evidence is the OSU game last year.  Great gameplan.

They would have to get pretty lucky.  VT just does not have the athletes.  But stranger things have happened

06/30/2018 - 5:00pm This is not my first post,…

This is not my first post, but I am with you Reblued.  Brian is a hyprocrite of the highest order after this post.  Just hugely disappointing from what used to be my favorite sports site.  All things change I suppose.

This WAS one of the few places you could come without politics a while back.  It could almost be forgiven if they were any good at it.  But while Brian has a great talent for sports writing, he could not be worse at politics.  And poor Ace - the less you read his twitter the better off you are.

06/30/2018 - 4:37pm How could he???

How could he???

Skinning kittens is great - do what you gotta do - but puppies??? Not puppies!

04/28/2018 - 2:03pm This one will go down

as an all-timer.  I CANNOT believe Mo Hurst was picked in the 5th round.  Years from now we will talk about how dumb NFL GMs are, and this will be the best evidence.

04/28/2018 - 12:10am Good take

And decent insight with Thanos' comment to Thor.  I did not know the story from the comics.  If this truly was in detail the original storyline, then it must be an amazing thing to see that unfold on the big screen.  It was just a totally unexpected experience (not bad!) for the myself and the group of people I went with.  Totally unlike any other comic/hero movie, in a good way.

04/28/2018 - 12:06am Yes I did

Thank you

04/27/2018 - 8:13pm Real Spoilers Below, be sure before you read this post

Plus I had to write my thoughts down after that movie.

This is really not a fun movie, but really really good even so.  It's a tragedy told through a comic book hero story.  It's probably the best actual storyline of any comic book movie I have seen and I have seen them all, to my shame.  Most of the heros die at the end.  A list of those who died: spiderman, vision, scarlet witch, doctor strange, ALL of the gaurdians except the raccoon, black panther, the winter soldier and loki.  I'm probably forgetting a couple.

But this one is just half a story.  So that makes the movie hard to grade.  The protagonist is the worst bad guy in movie history but you still get a full back story on him and the reasons for his actions.  Thanos gets the most screentime by far, and deservedly so.

The stakes are pretty high even for someone like me who is only half-heartedly into hero movies.  Because you at least know the characters, and they are all dying.

So yeah.  There are a lot of funny moments though.  The action is second to none and the acting is fantastic.  I really would not want to watch that again until you get to see the second part where the good guys win in the end, but I am really not in to dramas - so take that into consideration.

03/13/2018 - 6:07pm And they're right

What's YOUR problem, bub?

01/01/2018 - 1:29pm This just looks like

a really poorly coached team (aside from the defense)

01/01/2018 - 1:24pm I no longer blame the quarterbacks

or the wide receivers

12/15/2017 - 1:52pm This message

was brought to you by Disney studios, international.

12/14/2017 - 10:39pm Terrible movie

Disney flat out ruined the franchise. Don't watch it.

12/02/2017 - 10:35pm Miami is a bigger paper-tiger

12/02/2017 - 3:47pm Helpful recap as I didn't see the game

Can someone fill in as to why Duncan Robinson is still getting a lot of minutes?

12/01/2017 - 5:30pm Also, although you could never prove it

Mexico's defense all of the sudden got really soft at the least opportune time for US qualifying.  The theory being Mexico let in a few weak ones so the US would not qualify.

12/01/2017 - 4:06pm This is like a Michigan fan cheering for Ohio State

In no circumstance this side of hell frozen over should any USMNT fan ever cheer for Mexico.

11/29/2017 - 8:43pm I've wondered about this

Does he use the first 10 games to just try stuff?  And then he knows what he has in actual competition?  How else can you explain such a good coach with a team putting on these kinds of displays yearly.

11/29/2017 - 8:40pm Remember the last 3 years, at least

Beilein teams tend to be awful at the beginning of the year, and (especially last year) get hot/much better at the right time.

11/29/2017 - 8:35pm I have to keep remembering every year

Don't start watching b-ball until at least a third of the way through the season until Beilein has worked his magic.

11/29/2017 - 8:30pm I was at a restaurant with my wife

Who literally does not care about TV.  And she asked if we could leave early after hearing about 10 minutes of people shouting at each other about nothing on ESPN in the background.  That's really not a good sign for your cable network, guys.

11/29/2017 - 8:24pm That

and the generally horrendous programming. When was the last time you watched non-live sports ESPN?

11/29/2017 - 8:21pm Well, that first half

Gives me more time to do other things in the 2nd

11/29/2017 - 7:44pm I will upvote every comment

Utterly hilarious.  And he agrees.

11/27/2017 - 5:14pm They are NOT kids

They are young men, who choose to come to Michigan and choose to work very hard to play football as best they can.  Don't minimize those decisions by calling them "just kids".
