First time to visit Clemson. Great noon time experience. Dabs is probably the best O coach right now. He is doing some interesting combinations from the spread. Great talent at the specialties roles, but boy sues Dabo havevtgr right combination of running and passing downfield.

be able to watch the game with a pretty clear stream on my desktop? That is my preferred position--a submarine sandwich beside me in honor of our other big male sport--with mgoblog commentary open in a tab.

For everyone saying PSU looks like shit, we're going to beat them.

Yes, they do look like shit today...on the road, against an unranked team, at 11am local time.

Yes we're going to beat them because I'm a biased Michigan fan.

BUT...all teams have this game. Clemson looked like this versus NC State AND Pitt last year and won the national championship over Alabama.

That's why they call it "playing down to the competition." This game is not indicative of us playing in Happy Valley, at night, in a primetime game, white out, with Gameday, etc. - it's just completely different. If we think because PSU looks like this versus Northwestern, they're going to look like this versus us...we're going to get stomped.

We're going to beat PSU because we'll be the better football team. Not because of what we're watching today (unless it's an injury that affects our game).

Let's just root for N'Western because they're easy to like and PSU is deservedly hated. And because it would be funny to see them lose. But let's not act like we're going to be facing this PSU team anymore than they're facing the sleepy Michigan team we saw in the 1st half of the Air Force.

While I agree that we shouldn't base our assumptions about Michigan beating Penn State solely on this game, I do feel that they've struggled with some average teams like Iowa and Northwestern. Both of those games were on the road, one a hostile night game, the other a early game in another time zone. There were definitely reasons for Penn State not being at their best.

I do think that there are some takeaways that are positives for us. Northwestern has been able to bottle up Saquon. Seeing it actually done is nice. McSorely has been good, but not great. Penn State hasn't been able to run away with it. Our defense is

Nevermind, Saquon just scored, benefiting from a pick from the referee.

A lot of guys would beg to differ. He isn't even the best running back on the planet. He is getting some serious hype this year. I get that. He is damn good. But from this point forward when they actually have to play decent teams let's see how he does. I would take an in-game-shape Zeke Elliott any day over Saquon and I can't stand OSU and their former players.

To be fair, I was referring to when a better team just plays slow and can't get it together rather than when a bad team is just hot trash. I wouldn't call last year so much taking advantage of MSU not playing up to what they should be doing so much as them being bad, and feeling bad. This is more along the lines of Ferentz not having a killer instinct against anyone else.
