Logged in for the first time in ages just because I loved the Ghostbusters 2 reference. Peter MacNichol is totally underrated. When I saw the YouTube title I was hoping that would be the video.

I actually laughed at the…

I actually laughed at the whole "athletes are tested as much as medical professionals" part. I am a front line medical worker who has directly cared for literally hundreds of COVID patients this year. I have not shown symptoms and so I have not been tested. Once. All year.

Not that I have the biggest social circle around the country, but that is how it works in other places I have heard about as well. I haven't talked to any other health care people who get tested regularly. Where I work you can't even get tested if you find out someone you live with has the virus unless you are showing symptoms.

Kind of funny, back in my college days I wrote a final paper for a class that compared the two battles trying to determine which was more impressive. I took a stance for Cannae in the paper, but they are both decisive victories.

Me, casually scrolling down…

Me, casually scrolling down the page, skipping over Neck Sharpies: Wait, is that the battle of Cannae?

Also me: Comes to the comments to read the various takes on the battle and skips over the football part

Not a movie, but I have…

Not a movie, but I have played Spider-Man PS4 twice and cried at the end both times. Even when I knew it was coming the second time.

I absolutely did the same…

I absolutely did the same thing. I thought I must be watching the wrong porn or something.

Deep Rising - somewhat campy…

Deep Rising - somewhat campy monster B movie, but there is a ton of charisma with the cast and is just way more fun than it has any right to be. Also, in hindsight this had a pretty amazing cast for what it was.

Eurotrip - kind of got buried in the high school/college drinking movies of the early 2000s, but it my favorite of all of them (including American Pie).

Clue - not sure if this counts as underrated anymore since it has a bit of a cult following, but Tim Curry crushes this movie. Madeline Kahn is also great as always.

The Phantom - another pretty cheesy movie and an early comic book movie, but Billy Zane and Treat Williams are so entertaining. Yes, this is the second Treat Williams movie and I think the guy is underrated in himself.

Eraser/Last Action Hero - IMO these are among the best action movies of the 90s that aren't talked about. Classic Arnold stuff up. And LAH also has a great Charles Dance performance. I believe True Lies is already considered great, but if not that should also be included here.

Absolutely. I have made so…

Absolutely. I have made so many people watch that movie and nobody seems to think it is as funny as I do.

American Pie 2 is absolutely…

American Pie 2 is absolutely the best in the series for me. I don't know why, but "What an idiot. The lake's right there!" absolutely cracks me up.

As far as Henne goes you are…

As far as Henne goes you are right obviously, but at the same time the dude has become a career backup NFL QB. Over a decade in the league making millions to be an emergency back up and now he has one more ring than Marino (which still hurts me personally). This guy is living Alex Moran's dream.

I'm going to agree with a…

I'm going to agree with a few others and say 2006 ND. I grew up around South Bend and root for OSU and MSU to both clobber the Irish when they play. Really can't stand ND and I've never understood why they get this reputation for having these great fans. Anyway, I can't even describe how great it felt to murder/death/kill that 06 team that was supposed to walk through college football. The tone of voice of the announcers as they continually described how open Manningham was is still a treat.

Not what would have popped…

Not what would have popped into my head, but this one is actually underrated by the fanbase in general I think. No Mike Hart, on the road at night, against Juice Williams (?) who always killed us with his legs, and Henne was spending the year fighting his shoulder. The defense stepped up when they needed to and Henne really carried the team to a win. MSU 2007 is similar

This guy is amazing. He is…

This guy is amazing. He is the only non-Michigan player I own an NFL jersey of. Absolutely loved watching him and Alstott together in Tampa and I still root for the Bucs as my second team to this day.

Now I'm confused. I watched…

Now I'm confused. I watched the whole game and can't figure out why we would be blaming Metellus. If anything on defense I blame Brown for trotting out 3 man fronts all day and sliding Jordan Glasgow of all people down into the 3 or 5 tech area. What did Metellus screw up? Hill is the one that slid out of the way on the long run

If we are placing blame on…

If we are placing blame on the players who won that game then you should direct it at Manningham and more importantly (in my opinion) Henne. Remember that was the game Henne ran off and tripped over the end zone, which was a great celebration from a guy playing hurt for most of the year.

I am trying something new…

I am trying something new this year where I avoid any kind of posting during or immediately after games. I spent some time with my dog and girlfriend and came to read some things on here. My take has been said before, but my big takeaway here was the offensive play calling and how much Gattis really has control of it. Those back to back HB dives on 4th and 2 without a lead blocker were baffling to me. At some point in the second half we decided to give the ball to the true freshman every play to avoid risking a fumble (which is somehow a true statement). We seemed to think we could just MANBALL up and churn out 3-4 yards per carry and control the clock.

I don't think we threw a single jump ball all day to our giant wide outs. I think this is the most Lloyd thing of anything else today.

And I would REALLY like to know if any of these zone running plays are reads or not. Either they are reads and Patterson is incredibly bad at noticing the free 20 yards teams are giving him, or they are not reads in which case stop calling them because Charbonnet was running into a wall by the second half. If Shea is too hurt to run then put in Dylan. If you don't trust Shea not to fumble then put in Dylan. You either trust your QB or you don't, but I hate limiting the offense and hamstringing your own team when you have a capable back up.

Finally, a man of class and…

Finally, a man of class and substance. Jim Butcher is probably my favorite author and I love me some Harry Dresden.

"Help me, Rod. Help me, help…

"Help me, Rod. Help me, help you!"

This was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the title of this thread. Then I read the actual OP and got disappointed.

It's never over, but I may…

It's never over, but I may be watching more of the soccer game than I was expecting tonight.

Both teams had bases loaded…

Both teams had bases loaded and 2 outs. They got 3 runs we got none. That hurts a whole lot.

Well this isn't great…

Well this isn't great. Kauffmann not having his best stuff tonight

If Vandy could just make one…

If Vandy could just make one defensive mistake, that would be great. Come on, guys. Wild pitch, passed ball, dropped throw to first. Anything.

Base running has been top…

Base running has been top notch. Now if we could just get a clutch hit....

If he missed that it was at…

If he missed that it was at least a double...

Well poop. If he doesn't get…

Well poop. If he doesn't get hurt I bet he beats the throw too.

Alright. Pretty much have…

Alright. Pretty much have him chased already.

OK, this kid is pretty good…

OK, this kid is pretty good. I'll give him that.

I would feel more…

I would feel more comfortable if he kept some of these strikes inside the park.

Wow. One win away. Should be…

Wow. One win away. Should be interesting to see our bats against their pitcher coming up.

Sweet Jesus, Criswell came…

Sweet Jesus, Criswell came in firing.

I think Henry had a pretty…

I think Henry had a pretty OK trip to Omaha guys

Alright guys. 3 more outs…

Alright guys. 3 more outs. Let's not regret leaving 5 guys on base the last two innings. Plus it would be amazing to see two straight CG from Henry

I didn't know about this…

I didn't know about this story at all. I came to this thread to celebrate the man who hired Lou Brown and helped make the Indians pennant winners back in the 80s. This is better, though.

I'm gonna be honest with you…

I'm gonna be honest with you guys, I've never seen a double squeeze before. Didn't know that was a thing. That was damn sexy.

Are you comparing the 6-7…

Are you comparing the 6-7 OSU team with the team that just won the Big Ten title last year? Come on.

Your counterpoint is that if…

Your counterpoint is that if you were any of those guys you just wouldn't have let the team lose to OSU? That's it? It's somehow Henne's fault that the defense gave up 42 points in 2006 after the offence put up 39 points in Columbus? Jake Long's fault that the defense couldn't hold in 2005? It's fine if you have your own way of judging people, but saying if they were better leaders they would have beaten OSU every time is ridiculous. Does that mean that people on the 2011 team are better than that group because they beat a down OSU team at home?

This is basically the Dan Marino vs Trent Dilfer conversation and I just don't understand the other viewpoint still.

Breaston?? Don't get me…

Breaston?? Don't get me wrong, I love the guy, but if we are talking best M players ever I don't see how he even makes top 5 receivers. One of the best returners? Absolutely. I don't think he was ever the best receiver on the team at any given time, though. Again, nothing against him, he just played on teams with some stacked receiving corps.

We had some fun with this at…

We had some fun with this at work today. My prediction? Mass killing of everyone who is still around King's Landing. Gendry is somehow next in line for the throne now that he is full Baratheon. Sansa throws up her arms and gives up and the North breaks off from everyone else.

I'm having audio problems in…

I'm having audio problems in West Michigan as well with cable. But TruTV is fine. In fact, CBS is the only channel I can find with problems.

I am moving in June and am…

I am moving in June and am looking into cord cutting when I do that, but I am not a technical person at all and worry somewhat that I won't understand how all of this works. I don't know the first thing about different internet speeds or how things would work on multiple devices. It sounds like I could do OK just getting internet from somewhere and then doing either YouTubeTV or PSVue. Right now I have HBO Now and Netflix, but I will probably add Disney+ when it comes out. I may even cancel HBO after GoT since Last Week Tonight is on youtube. As someone who basically only uses the TV to watch sports or movies I feel like I could get along without cable fine, but how does everything stream through non-smart TVs? Is this something I would be able to handle as a relatively technology illiterate person?

I haven't gotten to see the…

I haven't gotten to see the team much this year. This is depressingly bad hockey. Is it always like this?

If we want to hire a coach…

If we want to hire a coach specifically for social events, why not go with Rick Pitino? He wouldn't have to do anything with football.

Doctor's say he has a 50-50…

Doctor's say he has a 50-50 chance of making it, though there's only a 10% chance of that.

I'm happy for Tom and all,…

I'm happy for Tom and all, but as  Dolphins fan I'm happier for the end of that game. That was amazing. I thought Drake was free once he cut up field, then felt let down when I saw another level of defenders, then I realized it was only Gronk and started yelling.

The foul isn't ideal, but…

The foul isn't ideal, but making them use almost the whole shot clock was pretty great.

Well we haven't had to make…

Well we haven't had to make free throws down the stretch yet. This should be good experience

Not really sure why I got…

Not really sure why I got downvoted for pointing out that SC has made some rather unintentional bank shots in this game, but OK

How many crap bank shots can…

How many crap bank shots can one team make in a single game?

This has not been our most…

This has not been our most outstanding defensive effort this year. With as sloppy as we have been on offense it is weird we are up 9

Right. That way we can play…

Right. That way we can play them almost as often as we play Florida and South Carolina.

Sorry. Still bitter.
