Michigan at 7th in both the Coaches Poll and the AP Poll
Georgia moves ahead of us to 6th. Penn State, Wisconsin, and Ohio State are 4th, 8th, and 9th, respectively.

Georgia had jumped us last week, so we slide up one with the USC loss. Penn State is still at 4th, while Wisconsin (9th) and Ohio State (10th) also move up one spot.

We won't get much respect until we show a multi game improvement in our offense.
But our D is so sezzy....

I'm a little confused - we're ranked #7 in the nation in both polls, despite having had a fairly bleh offense all year. That feels a lot like respect to me. Indeed, I'm more worried about us being over-rated than being disrespected right now.

Clemson, based on their schedule to this point, should be ranked ahead of Alabama...other than that, this poll is fine

Shutting out Tennessee in their own stadium 41-0 a week after beating Mississippi State 31-3 shows, at the very least, that they're more than taking care of business, compared to disappointing outings for us against Air Force and Cincinnati.
Our defense is perhaps the best unit in the country on either side of the ball, and we have what may very well be a generational talent at kicker, but until our offense shows consistency (and early returns with O'Korn are encouraging on that end), putting Georgia over us seems only reasonable. Thankfully, if we take care of business, it won't matter, whereas Georgia has an Alabama problem.

Happened when they hired Brady Hoke to coach their DL.

Michigan played three games with no QB. They played almost a full game with one. See the difference.

Georgia ahead of Michigan makes sense, though I would argue that beating Miss St. looks far less impressive after both them and LSU looked terrible for 2 weeks in a row now.

If we can somehow harness this lightning, channel it into the flux capacitor, it just might work.

Big IF with such a dicey QB and OL situation though.

but we need to win out to get in the playoff. I'm optimistic our offense is gonna start percolatin'. And I think we can take Wisconsin. PSU? OSU? We will soon see!

With PSU. OSU, and Wiscy on our schedule, we'll get to prove our worth. Nobody will remember anything about Cinn or AF.

something like 31-0. Just lock down Barkley and if there is one man that can make that happen it's Coach Don Brown.

At least in my mind it is.
IMO if you're not in the top 15 right now, you're pretty much out. And personally, I don't think any team 11-15 is good enough to run the table the rest of the way, so I'm looking at the top 10.
I've got Bama and Clemson in.
Whoever survives the B1G (Michigan) is #3 =)
Oklahoma/TCU winner, wins out and is #4.
...question. What happens if Bama and Georgia are both undefeated going into the matchup in Atlanta and UGA wins close? In this awful year of the SEC...would we really get 2 SEC teams?!
October 1st, 2017 at 2:00 PM ^
One loss bama would likely be in
October 1st, 2017 at 2:23 PM ^
Curious, so you are thinking that if Georgia is undefeated and beats an undefeated Bama team in the SEC championship that both teams are in?
IMHO not a lock, but it depends on the other conferences. If PAC-12 champ is undefeated and B1G champ is undefeated or one loss (strenght of conference) I doubt it. They will consider that game a play in and part of the playoffs. Interesting thought!

More likely OU or TCU is undefeated. If so, no B1G team. I don't see that happening unless OSU wins the B1G and has 1 or 2 losses.

i think we're getting some extra air we might not deserve. now if 2nd half-purdue-o'korn plays that way again on saturday then yeah, we deserve that ranking. if he struggles though, we might be in for a bumpy and short-lived ride in the top 10.

no clue how psu will play against us.
osu is osu, they'll be tough.
beat psu and then the wisky game doesn't matter.
