Harbaugh rips poor facilities at Purdue
Harbaugh -- will do for visiting team "standard of care for the visitors" on multiple levels.....this is coming off Purdue game...

Harbaugh "gamesmanship that is not sportsmanlike....locker rooms too small" no ac, no heat

Harbaugh -- "gamesmanship should cease at the line of health and safety for the players"
— angelique (@chengelis) September 25, 2017
Harbaugh says it's not just Purdue, but he's absolutely blasting Ross Ade facilities. Said training table looked like it was from 1920s.
— Matt Pargoff (@MaizeBlueNews) September 25, 2017Harbaugh wishes he had taken a picture of injury table at Purdue.
— Adam Biggers (@AdamBiggers81) September 25, 2017
"I mean, it looked it was from the '20s," had rips/tearsUrban Meyer agrees that that "Absolutely" there should be a standard for visiting locker room facilities etc. for programs in Big Ten.

Purdue owes @CoachJim4UM an apology. This is embarrassing.

Did you miss the part where he specifically says it should stop at the risk of health and player safety? What, pray tell, does providing a starting roster have to do with player safety?

Says the only guy who doesn’t provide rosters like every other school or updated 2-deep
Says the guy who got fired from ESPN and doesn't provide a reasonable analogy or any type of insight to this discussion.

How do we make it so these terrible "old-guard" sports-analysts can get black-listed for their terrible takes and useless opinons?
I swear if it wasn't for their blue check-marks beside their twitter names, no one would follow these idiots and their horrible opinions.

Did anyone mention the time in '82 or '83 when Sam Wyche was coaching Indiana and he brought his post-game presser onto the field at Michigan Stadium to protest the horrible state of the visitors locker room?
I went in there in '84 and it wasn't nice or anything, but seemed adequate for the time.

Did you see what their coach did to the chair pre-game? Sounds like they put the broken furniture in the visitors locker room.
September 25th, 2017 at 1:26 PM ^
I also noticed that the chair was pretty old and their locker room was pretty cramped as well. Sounds like they have pretty shitty facilities all the way around. But at least they had A/C and barely enough space to gather as a team.

I watched the referees and their bags sniffed by the dogs right when they got out of the van. The dogs must have just been looking for explosives, because the refs were definitely on drugs.

revenue sharing payout from the conference next year. That things are this bad should be a severe embarrassment to Purdue's athletic department. Also a little surprised that this is the first time that Purdue's inadequate facilities have received national attention.
September 25th, 2017 at 4:05 PM ^
They spent all their money on lights for the stadium. 5.6 Million and the project was just completed in August of this year. They also hadn't had a sell out game since 2008!
Add this to the list of issues that the athletic department at Purdue needs to fix. Not holding my breath.
September 25th, 2017 at 1:07 PM ^
on this issue of poor visiting team facilities. I think a lot of it does go back to gamesmanship, in a time where that may have been acceptable. But it's not excusable to (for example) make athletes suffer through 90+ degree weather in a non-airconditioned locker room. Purdue may not have Michigan's resources, but they have more than enough money to provide decent facilities for guests on their campus.
September 25th, 2017 at 1:13 PM ^
it's not like it's going to cost them that much money to put A/C in the visitors locker room and make it an acceptable place for a visiting team to change and meet at half time. Damn Purdue your part of the B1G show a little class and update that locker room a little bit.
September 25th, 2017 at 1:12 PM ^
Oh, well as long as the almighty Urban Meyer agrees, then it should be OK to think something.
September 25th, 2017 at 1:13 PM ^
Their AD is swimming in money just as much as the rest of the conference's ADs are. No reason for their facilities to be lacking in something so basic except that it was an intentional omission for the sake of gamesmanship
September 25th, 2017 at 1:16 PM ^
September 25th, 2017 at 1:24 PM ^
but nobody is asking them to give the visitors the Taj Mahal. Just make it functional and safe.
September 25th, 2017 at 1:47 PM ^
Absolutely - totally agree with that part of it. I was just pointing out that not every team is swimming in the same level of $.
September 25th, 2017 at 2:01 PM ^
spending a few grand for AC is not an issue for any B1G AD.. I don't care how poor they claim to be.

I don't suppose they had anything to say about the "60 minutes of unnecessary roughness" style of play on defense? Please tell me that at least they didn't complain about the obvious targeting infractions.
September 25th, 2017 at 1:57 PM ^
They complained about one of them, but on the whole I like reading through their post-game analysis it was remarkably calm and realistic.
