Solar Eclipse Posbang
It's Monday morning, and if your life is similar to mine there's a fair amount of drudgery filling this day. There's also a freakin' total solar eclipse in many parts of the country.
Do we have too many posbangs here? Maybe. But I promise not to post another solar eclipse posbang until the next solar eclipse that marches from coast to coast of the U.S.
Here's my solar eclipse jam (other choice was The Velvet Underground Who Loves the Sun?):

It was no comfort that the news mentioned that the next one to be visible in southeastern Michigan won't be until April 2024, so I actually moved a meeting so that I could be outside to catch what I can of this one. It's partly cloudy right now, but I'll take the experience even if I don't get to see it step by step in the skiy.

99/100 mornings in Sunnyvale, CA are solid blue skies and bright sun... but there is a layer of morning clouds today. They've got two hours or so to burn off or move along, or there will be a sternly worded letter going out to.... somebody, damnit.
This cloud aggression will not stand, man.

Which is partially a shame, because I had a pretty good Petition for Redress of Grievance drafted and was on my way to deliver it to the NASA facility next door in Mountain View.

which is in the path of totality, and we're here for the eclipse. The whole area is eclipse-crazy and ieveryone's having a lot of fun.
The locals keep mistaking the dark blue M on my maize shirt for a black M.

In two hours it'll be 99.2% totality in Portland, OR. Good enough for me!

I'm going to Photoshop these clouds out of the visible satellite image over the upper Midwest so we can see the damn eclipse. You're welcome.

I remember it clearly bc that night I went to my first NY Mets game. They lost to the Giants and it was Wilie Mays' first game playing against his former team in NY.
