NEG UPDATE: New #1

Submitted by The Fugitive on

It wouldn't be near the first game if we didn't have a neg record. If you recall, last season Mr Yost set an (un)official Neg record.  According to MGoHoF, Yost's Neg total as of the spring was 1,248 for not believing UMbig11's report that Speight was QB1.

Well then.

Somewittyname did not let that record stand.  Please go to the Camp Update from Sam Webb thread and Neg if you haven't already.

EDIT: As of 12:50pm on Sunday, the results are as follows:

Total Negs 4,621
Total Posts 37
Neg Average 125
Neg High 259

The table only takes into account Negs in the Camp Update thread.

It is important to note that this poster began their spree with over 4,400 points and is currently -1,397.  We can assume this poster accumulated roughly 5,800 Negs over the course of 18 hours.

The Mods may need to confirm this, but have we ever witnessed an OP that has a negative point total?  someshittyname created a post (which can be negged here) comparing last year's starters versus this year's projected starters.  It's hilarious to me to see that negative point total in an OP.  Nice job.

I'm not counting upvotes. Strictly Negs. Thank you stephenrjking for pointing out the current total in the HoF.

The guideline has always been that prisoners can be exchanged, but the only prerequisite is that beer and restaurant coupons must be involved in the exchange. Given that there are occasional disruptions to the liquor supply and the dining can get a little pricey in Bolivia, we do try to incentivize tourism as well as clear out the rehabilition centers on occasion.

The thing that sucks is that post (as well as the umbig11 post from last year) had so much potential for an actual healthy football conversation with the season so close we can taste it. But instead one guy ruins it and it turns into a roast session

This is why we can't have nice things.  We get inside information from legit sources and it turns into a shit show.

On the plus side, we get to put these people in stocks for a while and publicly humiliate them.

If I read the mgoblog 3 post correctly, we would be able to just collapse his/her reply (and subsequent responses) and view the thread as of it wasn't there. Will be a great feature for the reasons you describe.

To be fair to MrYost, his gripe was more he didn't like how UMbig11 "didn't present his info properly" enough or something like that, not that he didn't believe it . But hey , I negged him in that thread too just for the fun of it but just giving his side .

Can we start a chant that goes "In Harbaugh we trust! Unless Brian says otherwise! I can't think for myself! I forgot how this goes, parrot some shit I read online!"

I feel like his neg potential is so high bc of multiple posts (people can go through and down vote all of his posts in the thread). Was this the case with Mr. Yost? What is the record for single post neg count?

As of 7:50am I believe it is getting close to 4,000 and counting.  Everytime I refresh, "his/her" point total goes down in chunks.  I believe he/she started around 4,500 points last night (mentioned by someone toward the bottom of the other thread).  Point total was at 1,085 when I logged on this morning around 6:15am and now is in the 600's and still going down.  Quite impressive!  I wouldn't be surprised if he/she loses all points by the time I eat breakfast.

Mr. Yost's meltdown was at 1,248 as of this spring, so what's his name still has a ways to go. Also the average negs per post is kinda rough. Check the MGoHOF, Fugitive, you're in there.
