David pollack said Florida is going to beat Michigan week one because they have "Florida gator speed" And they are a "next freak up" defense. I hope we can handle that SEC speeeeeeeed. These fucking TV guys.

I'm sure similarly nonsensical claims will be made how they weren't psyched up for SEC season when they played Michigan if we blow them out again this time. There are always excuses made for SEC teams when they perform shitty in OOC games in order to justify the perceived dominance of the SEC in relation to the rest of the conference.

Proof that you don't need to actually pay attention to college football in order to be put on the air.

This isn't Bo's Michigan team anymore with a bunch of big, slow Midwest kids. Harbaugh has recruited all over the country, and has a roster that is just as fast as most of these Southern teams, and at least as many "freaks" on defense as Florida.

was also mentioned in Webb's tidbits as practically sitting in the lap of the QB. . . on a shotgun snap.

If that's the same guy who's saying the OL has improved, what was he doing before?

To be fair, in Webb's piece it said something along the lines of "on one play..." I'm sure on others they are holding their own. Otherwise, I don't think Hurst would say that they are the most improved unit. He does not seem like a guy that is just going to hype a bad unit to make the fans hopeful.

To where it has traditionally been at Michigan, the offense will be scary EVERY YEAR.  Harbaugh's blue chip skill position recruits behind a dominant O Line....Gonna get real good!!

Franklin (I know.....I know) has been touting that his OL is the best he has had since being there and will be one of the best in the Big Ten.  BTT has parrot that same message.  My question is.....

PSU was in shambles with their sanctions just a mere 3 years ago, yet this year they feel that they will have, at minimum, above average OL play, but here we do not seem to be overly satisfied with the perforamce of our line play and like to point all the way back to Funk as the Root Cause.  What happens if this comes to fruition (PSU = very good; M = average)??????

PS: I am in the belief that this year will be a watershed / breakout year for the OL and running game in general.  I just think that the media is too busy jerking themselves over Barkley and McSorley to care about anything else......

I'll reserve judgment on that until I see them hold their own against a very good, athletic Florida defense. I've been fooled too many times in recent years with hearing how vastly improved the offense has been.

It's certainly improved leaps and bounds under Harbaugh, but it has yet to make a dent in being able to run effectively against truly good defenses.

But, I carved out a few minutes last night to turn on the Redskins game, since they signed Kalis. Over the last 2 years, I've always been puzzled as to the difference of what I see when watching him in a game and the accolades he received (earning big ten honors can't be that cheap). Sure enough, in the few plays that I watched him, he remains the master of blocking no one. Who knows if he was over-rated coming out of HS, but it's certain that he didn't get the proper coaching his first few years at UM...along with the others. If the Redskins were willing to take a chance on Kalis, when his film is so bad, they must be hurting for OL. Yet not Kalis nor Braden not Magnusun (all with great pedigrees) got drafted. That shows how badly they were coached. There is no way that the current offensive line, even with the youth, would be any worse than last year's. It will be improved by just having another guy or two actually hit a defensive player, even if it's the wrong one.
