What are your favorite Mgoblog features?

Submitted by blue in dc on
What features do you particularly look forward to during the year?

What features would you most miss if MGoblog stopped providing them?

During the football season UFRs are definately my favorite (even after a loss). I personally love the addition of the PFF stuff this year - seeing how many snaps people played as well as the grades to compare to Brian's is a great addition. Its awesome to see an already great feature evolve to become even better.

27 tickets may be my favorite non-regular feature. For me, Brian hit a homerun here in finding a nontraditional way to make depth chart projections.

Hello posts are another place the blog excels in my mind. I love both the format and the content.

If I was asked to rank all the types of content on the blog, I think these would be my personal top three (but I suspect others may make cimments that make me consider others)

It might shock you to know that those are definitely NOT my favorite feature of the blog, or indeed myself. Ask anyone who has had the misfortune of being in a meeting that I happen to be leading.

The shit posts that evolve into wonderful posts, as EveryoneMurders mentioned, are definitely one of the most incredible features of the blog historically.

Brian's game columns and Opponent Watch. Ace's recruiting updates. Basketball recaps. Almost anything having to do with games themselves, really.

oh, and I also like SalvatoreQuattro's lectures on history and human misery, Maizen's MBB recruiting insights, MGoBrewMom's drinking problem, XtraMelanin's virility, MGrowOld's cranky Cleveland-ness, and WD's everything.

I honestly love most of the features here. Not sure I can really pick a favorite. Although, I will say, the Harbaugh GIF tourney last OT season was the best thing ever. Why do we not have one for this year?

The best post of the year is Brian's "The Story" post which kicks off preview week.

I loved picture pages when Seth and Brian were doing it--I hope it makes a comeback.

The monday game column and the UFR's are awesome as well.

Hands down it's the story. I look forward to it every year. After that it's the Monday column followed by opponent watch. I appreciate the UFRs, I just don't have time to read it all. I usually look for a few plays I remember from the game then go to the stats to see if they bear out what I thought I saw.

When something awesome Maize and Blue related just went down, I go straight here to confirm my happiness....and when it's Muppets-worthy, almost everyone here is stoked. Good times.

Snowflakes---the takes on the game are pretty hilarious sometimes.

Open thread during games---these are even funnier.

Special articles by the writers.  Brian's post mortem on Brandon was a classic, as an example.  There are others.

UFR by far. When we get to the game season. They make my day during the season. Game previews and the season previews are also fantastic. Plus I read all the Hello posts. And I spend way too much time on the mgoboard. There's a lot of funny stuff on there from certain posters.
