thank you for adding the edit.  Because teaching daughters to be safe in their surroundings and be able to defend themselves is important, but so is teaching sons to pick up on subtle body language, and to believe that overt statements are accurate and not an invitation to "convince" their partner otherwise etc.

Really hope this isn't true. Starting to get sickened by how many football players are being accused of rape/sexual assault. Have no idea about this case, but in general seems like the problem of rape/sex assault by football players is getting worse, and at the very least, not getting better.

I don't care that this kid is an OSU player, this story sounds pretty odd. He offered you to participate in a Foursome, you said no. But you wanted to go watch them have sex?

Frankly, you sound out of touch. Today's society, or youth, are very sex-positive, and many women feel ok with exploring sexual relations and pushing the envelope. Also, its commonly known that today's youth are having more sexual encounters, but not more sex than past generations. They find other ways to satisfy their needs.

This is sad, but as in every other case, Conley is innocent until proven guilty. And I will neither rush to judge nor exonerate, because I am not privy to any of the facts.

My only comment is that this happens everywhere. And Michigan should never give a pass to Michigan athletes who do stuff like this, just because they're at Michigan.

Carl Monday, a Cleveland investigative reporter, broke the story absent Conley's name late last night.  He identified him as a "likely high first round pick" which unfortunately meant it could be one of three different Buckeyes but no names were being released.

FWIW he is absolutely and categorically denying that any part of this story is true.  Obviously none of us know a thing right now but her story sure seems pretty far-fetched to me.

I dont think the story sounds far fetched. Two people coming home, probably at least somewhat intoxicated, from a late night out (3am), in the same hotel, in the same elavator, and the guy makes an indecent proposal, and she partially accepts. I've seen/heard about more indecent propositions made and accepted. And the fact that it might have led to an unwanted sexual encounter is also not so far-fetched.

It remains to be proved if it actually occurred, but its not far fetched.

stated above, that the default reaction here should be to believe the alleged victim. Per Reddit (take it for what you will), they were partying with Cardale Jones and possibly others at the Westin. She had a rape kit performed, so I'd think more info from the CPD will be forthcoming...

Yikes.....I'll reserve judgment until the facts come out. Innocent until proven guilty.

I know that this is probably one of the last things he should be worrying about now, but I think his draft stock is about to take a rather big tumble. He can probably kiss the first round good-bye. Domestic violence is one of the few things the NFL actually takes seriously.

Hope it's not true.  These cases are so hard to substantiate either way.  He was in line to achieve his NFL dream (I presume) and this comes out now.

Very unfortunate / foolish / idiotic if true.

I hope none of this is true simply because it means someone didn't rape someone else. I will otherwise reserve judgement until more is known.

"The woman says she declined and offered to watch the other people have sex instead." I'll wait for the results of a full trial process, but at this point I'm not willing to accept her statements about what happened after her decision to observe as fact. I'm happy to be convinced but at this point it's he said she said.

Considering none of us are involved in any way with the case or the people involved we can make all the assumptions we want.  I'm going to assume she was looking for a paycheck and it's BS just like Jourdan Lewis's situation is BS.  Why?  Because what little I know fits those situations more than the opposite and if I'm wrong, who cares, my opinion doesn't matter and it doesnt affect me or anyone else one way or the other.

Whether true or not, it's just sad to see any negative news this close to the draft.  Man, you worked your ass off your whole life to get to this point, about to make millions, then your world comes crashing down.
