f/k/a gamebreakers.  The difference in winning and losing now is one or two plays a game-remember OSU, Iowa and FSU?  Having guys who can turn a 3 and 15 into a touchdown is what we need more of.  Hopefully this is a guy who will be able to do that.

Great news, and welcome! Choosing Michigan was one of the best decisions of my life, and I'm old.

Can one of you guys who follow recruiting closely comment on his offer list?

I can't remember seeing a kid that has so much obvious potential, so highly ranked, yet with so few offers. 2 TX schools, 2 NM schools and AZ. Nothing from the West coast.

Did he choose to not participate in the process to the same degree as most recruits?

He's one of the recruits I'm most excited about. I think he can be really good. He already has the build of a college RB as well as 4.4 speed. If he can grasp the offense and excell mentally in preparing for the next level there's no doubt that he has the skills.

Yeah, I really don't see it at all. The patience is similar I guess, but not much else. To me he looks good, but not great. He's fast, and fairly shifty, but he doesn't play the best competition.

But also hoping he doesn't fizzle out like Norfleet did. I was expecting huge things out of him and all we were left with was amazing GIFs of him dancing.

Didn't Norfleet leave with some school records for returns and return yardage? I know he never broke one, but he pretty reliably gave you 10 yards per change of possession. Everyone wishes he did more on offense, I do too, but it just wasn't a good fit with what we were trying (and failing) to do at the time.

Good news. RB depth is going to be good for a while. I don't know if he'll be an instant impact guy but I think in year 2 or 3 he could be a major factor.

O'Maury looked as good as anybody except Cam Akers to me in this class. I know his competition was much weaker, and Najee is the #1 recruti for a reason, but I felt Samuels looked incredible on tape.

I know resident recruiting expert Magnus disagreed that O'Maury was quite at that level, but watching all the top RB films on 247 and based on his explosiveness, current build and forward lean after contact, I really think he his at worst a top 5 RB recruit in the country.

It'll be nice not having to worry about Samuels on signing day.

Quietly pondered his decision and then made a drama free anouncement. Glad he handled his decision like a man.

I trust professionals more than my own eyes, so I'm confident that Najee Harris is the best RB prospect. But if I had no outside info and only saw the tapes, this is the kid I would want. It makes it even more fun to see how he develops.

And I remember having these exact thoughts and saying this exact thing when Green and Smith committed to UM

I'd want Harris. Then I'd see the Carr tape and be torn between them. Eventually, I'd see the Akers tape and want him flat out. Samuels isn't far behind those guys. HB is strange in that it requires almost no help at times in HS but only the very best can dominate in CFB/NFL with a bad OL. Harris isn't one of those guys, IMO. He'll be fine at Bama because Bama but he's not an Akers/Cook "just gimme the ball, coach" type. It's strange and hard to tell at times but I'll say that I'd rather he be on board than not. In 4 years we'll be talking about a backup or a solid HB. I don't think he'll flame out but I think it's more likely he'll be lost in the pack than become a star. However, we already have a few 1000 yard back on the roster if we had a serviceable OL. I firmly believe that.

Happy about this. Samuels is a burner with a very athletic body.  He could be a real impact maker, home run hitter for this offense.

Samuels is a different type of back than Harris.  Not as big, but quicker, more burst and top end speed.
