Badgers VS Buckeyes. Who Ya Got?
October 14th, 2016 at 10:55 AM ^
Traditionally Wiscy has always played OSU tough.
And college kids on the road is always an iffy proposition, especially against a quality opponent.
I feel like we know who Wiscy is this season, but still unsure how good OSU is.
So really any outcome wouldn't surprise me here.
Profound analysis, I know.

in that they don't have a nfl prospect on the OL and haven't run the ball wel all yearl. losing their starting QB and place kicker totally changes this team. i almost feel sorry for them. the rain chance is diminishing slightly. which is good for osu. as we all know anything can happen in college football thats why we play the games. i still think wisconsin's D is overrated having played the #35, 48, 68, 70 and 102nd ranked offenses.

with just looking at the games these two have played this year I would easily say osu by 14 or more, but I saw the scores of the previous 6 times osu has visited wiscy, wow that place is going to be tough at night. I live in columbus too (unfortunately) and a lot of buckeye fans are worried about Saturday night.

I really think OSU is going to win but if by some slim chance they lose, I'll enjoy seeing the reaction from the locals until I go home Sunday afternoon. I'll send you a telepathic high five since you'll be somewhere in the area.

I stopped at "O$U" and "Barrrettt".
The first is a no-no around here. The second is just dumb.
October 14th, 2016 at 11:00 AM ^
One the one hand, I just don't see anyone shutting down OSU's offense for a full 4 quarters. I doubt anyone can hold them under 21 pts. At the same time I don't picture UW scoring more than 21 points in this game. OSU's defense may actually be better than their offense. UW however is siginficantly better on the defensive side of the ball.
I think UW has to create some turnovers or create special teams points. But, playing a night game in Camp Randall will help UW and should provide some adversity for the younger OSU team. I'd guess something like a 28-10 win for OSU with the game staying tight all the way up until the last possession or two.

wins by a couple of TD's. Something like 21-7 or maybe even 24-7.

I'm planning on going to Game Day (my office is in a building about 50 yards away, so I can get there early in the morning and hang out). I'm torn between two signs: M (heart) W with a block M and flying W, or "Mirror lake is a drainage ditch". Thoughts on which is better?
Also, go Badgers.
October 14th, 2016 at 11:51 AM ^
I'd go with "Mirror Lake is a drainage ditch"
October 14th, 2016 at 2:46 PM ^
It kills me that they call that a "lake". If it was a lake, you wouldn't be able to drain and renovate it. Plus here in Madison we have 4 real lakes (although 2 are pretty small themselves).

I made the same prediction as you earlier this week and I'm sticking to it. OSU 24 Wisconsin 10.
October 14th, 2016 at 11:21 AM ^
I think Meyer is going to use our 78-0 thrashing of Rutgers last week (a mutual opponent) as extra motivation to destroy the badgers (another mutual opponent) this week. Just to one up us if he can.
I love rivalries.

Camp Randall is not kind to OSU. I still think they win, but if Wisconsin forces a few turnovers and gives Hornibrook/Clement a short field to work with, they can keep it close and potentially pull the upset.
But Wisconsin's defense has to be opportunistic. Force at least 2 turnovers that concert to Wisconsin touchdowns.

I'm honestly shocked so many of yall are picking Ohio State with any confidence at all. I'm not. Chances are pretty good this entire game is going to be played in a rainstorm. Sloppy conditions are extremely dangerous for an offense that relies on the read option and lots of pitches/pop passes. If it does rain expect an OSU offense that looks like the one we ran out against MSU last year. Rain completely elimates Ohio State's greatest offensive advantage: Curtis Samuel in the passing game. An Ohio State offense that has to run into an 8 man box fifty times isn't going to score many points. Wisconsin won't score much either, but they would love for this to be a plodding game that is tied 7-7 going into the last quarter. Both teams have to play in the rain, but I think rain is more of a detriment to the team with the better passing game. It's hard for me to see Ohio State scoring more than 20 points on the road, in a storm, against a great defense. I would predict a score of 10-9 OSU. If the rain holds off though I will confidently pick Ohio State to win this game 34-10.

I'm going with the cheeseheads.
Its a night game with poor weather. The booze and cheese curds will have the stadium loud and doing the "jump around" thing they do. The Bucks are very young vs a power team that can grind the ball on the ground against most teams(not us). Bucks fall 17-14.
If the Bucks lose I'll do the jump around!!!
October 14th, 2016 at 1:00 PM ^
OSU 27-10
As much as I'd like to see OSU lose, it doesn't really change anything other than eliminating the miniscule chance of both Michigan and OSU making the playoffs, if they do. Unless, of course, OSU loses a second game prior to The Game.
October 14th, 2016 at 1:02 PM ^
But I think it's extremely unlikely Wisconsin beats ohio. If the weather is really crappy, who knows what could happen. Regardless, after this game is played, I will still loathe meyer and his team with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind!!
GO BLUE!!

OSU losing ain't gonna happen. Wiscy doesn't have near enough offensive power to pull this one off. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I am.
Ohio State - 35
Wisconsin - 20
Bonus pick:
Alabama - 41
Tennessee - 28

...a ticket to the game on the 10-yard line. Wiscy games are a ton of fun and if you haven't caught a game at Camp Randall you should really try.
UW has a habit of slaying dragons and has knocked off a ranked OSU a few times. 2010 comes to mind when they knocked off a #1 OSU team here. The weather may be a concern and if W can get a big day out of a running back like they used to then I see a Badger win. UW20--OSU17
October 14th, 2016 at 3:43 PM ^
Wiscy's defense is for real, but OSU's offense is more real. Remember, we left points on the board with missed FGs against them.
OSU by 21.
October 14th, 2016 at 4:40 PM ^
Doesn't really matter. Assuming we're undefeated heading into the OSU game, OSU would have to lose 2 times for it to make any differene to us.
I'd probably rather play an undefated OSU than a 1-loss OSU.

OSU 27-7
