But I never heard Georgetown players or coaches calling the 1985 Villanova team a bunch of cowards. Same goes for anybody that lost to a Dick Bennett coached basketball team.
You have to be able to lose with class when you've won so many times in your life.

I don't see how the context makes much of a difference. She still calls Sweden "cowards". It's not like she was misquoted.

I hate to be blunt, but the US choked that away by letting several opportunities to more or less shut the door pass quietly by, so while I understand being emotional after a loss - "cowards"? Please. Sweden played shrewdly and won, so give them some credit, Solo. Full text below:

Isn't it her job to stop goals. This person is insufferable. I would guess and hope this will be her last Olympics. She's a terrible representative for the team and country. Every time she opens her mouth she says something stupid.

As big of a fan of the usMnt as I am, I have trouble rooting for the usWnt. I really respect a few of the players but I am NOT a Hope Solo fan, whatsoever. Some of these women act like NFL players.

The Brazilian "fans" relentless booing of the US, Solo's comments, and Sweden's style of play left a sour taste in my mouth. I would normally root for Sweden but both Sweden and Brazil teams can rot in hell as far as I'm concerned. Hope they both lose as quickly as possible.
