Way OT--Best 3 album run
Kraftwerk is a great call here. That;s probably one of most influential/sampled album trios every produced.

Section.80, good kid, m.A.A.d city and To Pimp A Butterfly
Nobody delivers a story like he does, and he's great lyrically. On top of that, he's got more than one style. He puts out music with a message, but he also makes songs that get radio play and are just enjoyable to listen to. Still think it's fucking stupid that he lost album of the year to thot extraordinaire Taylor Swift.
I can think of plenty of rappers that tell a better story than Kendrick. Slick Rick Krs Rakim Nas are all way ahead of Kendrick for me. Plus I personally only like section 80. Pimp a butterfly and Good kid just were not good enough from a production standpoint. Too many watered down overproduced beats, too many R&b features. He is good for a mainstream rapper but I am not really feeling his stuff. Kind of like Kanye too. Never liked his stuff either.
TPAB is not good, the music has gotten progressively worse on that 3 album run you listed.

AC/DC - Highway to Hell, Back in Black, For Those About to Rock We Salute You
Muse - Origin of Symmetry, Absolution, Black Holes and Revelations
Exactly the 3 album run for Muse that I was thinking.
upvoted for muse. would (possibly) kill to go back in time and go the Reading/Leeds concert in 2011 where they played OoS front to back.

Coheed is one of the most underrated bands of our time, in my opinion. Claudio is the f'ing man.
Bad Company - Bad Company, Straight Shooter, Running with the Pack
Kanye west: as mentioned and defended above
Those two stand out for me

I knew somebody was going to put Kanye, but I really thought I was going to have to be the one to add Pantera! And you did both. Amazing.
This is the correct answer. Hell, both of these are the correct answers.
I think his second best 3 would be planet waves, blood on the tracks, desire. 3rd I'd go with Freewheelin, The Times, and Another side, even thouhg The times is almost unlistenable for being such a downer.
Surprised how few Dylan comments so far. As great as his earlier work is, Time out of Mind, Love & Theft, and Modern Times may stand up as his best work. Now, If he would just quit releasing Christmas albums and covering Frank Sinatra and record another classic or two while he still can, the world would be grateful!
Was about to post this myself. Glad I checked. Great choice!
Prog-tastic.
As a piano player, it saddens me that no one has mentioned:
Elton John: Honkey Chateau, Don't Shoot Me, Goodbye Yellowbrick Road
Billy Joel: Turnstiles, The Stranger, 52d Street
If I had to vote, I can't choose between Zep 2-3-4 and The Who Tommy - Who's Next - Quadraphenia

I went this over Images And Words, Awake, A Change Of Seasons, because Scenes and Train are my favorite two albums by DT.
My other favorite band is Tesla who had an excellent run with Mechanical Resonance, The Great Radio Conspiracy, and Psychotic Supper.

I thought Zeppelin II-Untitled! Great job! Haha.
My two cents on recent work is
LCD SOUNDSYSTEM/ SOUND OF SILVER/ THIS IS HAPPENING
all three are incredible records.
Three albums released and they're all amazing, James Murphy is the man. I can't wait for their new album to come out.
Got to them live a month of so ago, definitely the best show I've ever seen.

I'm going to see LCD tomorrow for the first time. Can't wait!
Was thinking of buying the day pass, but the HEAT and the crowds and the island... it just seems overwhelming. Hoping they do a show at Barclays Center or MSG and I can beat the Ticketmaster scammers and get a seat.
Kill Em All
Ride the Lightning
Master of Puppets
It's the holy trinity of Metallica albums with Cliff Burton.
My second choice is REM
Life's Rich Pageant
Document
Green
Come on, does it get much better than that?

Or maybe Reckoning, Fables, Pageant. As you say, "so much great music for a long time".
Night Moves
