11/03/2016 - 9:25pm It's kind of hard to blame

It's kind of hard to blame Illitch for wanting to win now, rather than rebuilding.  He's 87 now, and not getting any younger.  Taking 5 years to rebuild might mean that they never win a World Series while he's still alive.

Absolutely.  Our raw numbers TFL and Sacks are being hurt a lot by the fact that we're giving up so few plays.

I'm not sure.  I think even if OSU loses that game they still control their own destiny when it comes to getting in the CFP, they win out, beat Michigan and win the B1G championship game then they're in for sure.  While losing to Wisco would have dropped them in the polls, their whole season essentially comes down to their game against us (just like ours comes down to the game against them).  I don't think a win or loss changes the CFP calculus that much

10/17/2016 - 9:54am I'm pretty surprised with

I'm pretty surprised with that switch.  While beating Wisco definitely builds their playoff resume, it definitely made OSU look like a more fallible team then they led on before.

I think it comes down to Louisville having a better win than we do.  Even if FSU was overrated, they still are a lot stronger than Colorado—or UCF and Hawaii for that matter.  If we keep winning, we'll keep moving up.

Before the season I was just hoping our linebacking corps would be vaguely servicable.  With a couple of servicable ILBs, our defense could be one of the best in the country.

If our LBs actually turn out to be good—like legitimately a strength—Watch the fuck out.  This defense can be something truly special.

04/08/2016 - 9:56pm I actually just had a Bourbon

I actually just had a Bourbon Barrell Scotty Karate for the first time an hour ago, and while Backwoods Bastard is amazing, I honestly think those two are pretty close in my book (I feel like i'd have to try them back to back to really pick one).  Both great brews either way though

Broke out some of the nice beers today.  Finished Bourbon Barrel Scotty Karate (delicious), and Prairie Artisinal Ale's BOMB! Stout (which was amazing).  Going with an AA brew next with an Oro de Calabeza, but I might have to call it after this one, so i am not dead tomorrow morning.

03/21/2016 - 9:40pm Not sure if there are any in

Common misconception. With enough companion development you can convince Piper to switch Publick Occurence to become a Michigan recruiting blog. Spoiler though, she thought Elliott was gonna stay at Michigan so what does she know.

01/30/2016 - 1:46am I could see the peppers

I could see the peppers comparison to the em dash for sure. But Gary's versatility and pure value at DLone (be it DE or DT) makes him somewhat em dash worthy. Although I do agree, if any Michigan player had to be and em dash it'd be Jabrill.

Nah. That's some Call of Duty level recruiting scoop. I'm skeptical at best. If it was a battlefield scoop I'd somewhat trust it, but nowhere near a counterstrike scoop. Those are where the big money is. TomVH made his career off of scoops from counterstrike.

01/16/2016 - 12:01pm Eh, Stanford has won the

Eh, Stanford has won the Director's Cup every year for the since 1995, they have to be doing something right with their general athletic recruiting.  I think the big difference between stanford and major football schools, was that they weren't a strong conduit to the NFL before.  Nearly every highly recruited FB player has NFL aspirations, so they want to go to a place which will help them realize their goal.

Back when Stanford was a cellar dwellar in the Pac, they couldn't appeal to High School players as well because of it.  However, since they have put out some really strong NFL talent in the last few years, its now viewed as a viable NFL conduit (and if you don't make the NFL, you still get a free Stanford degree, which is incredibly valuable on its own).

Non-revenue sports are incredibly strong at Stanford, possibly because they can be viewed more as a way to get a free education, rather than a stepping stone to the professionals (as with Football and Basketball).

And lets be honest here, Ole Miss has a reputation regarding its hot women, but California isn't exactly known for its homely women.  Whether or not you can say that the student body at Stanford is more or less attractive, they're probably going to be no shortage of attractive girls around.

01/16/2016 - 11:47am Stanford has the draw of

Stanford has the draw of being one of, if not THE, best university in the country, while bieng located in one of the most desirable cities in the country (Palo Alto), in a area with nearly perfect weather all year around.

As long as their football team is halfway decent, recruiting should not be a problem at all for them.

11/19/2015 - 5:21pm There's a lot of reasons to

There's a lot of reasons to hate the Lions, but I'm not sure if this is one. Or at least, I have no idea yet.  President handles the business side of things for the most part, so if it seems like he can do it then that's great.

GM is the much more crucial hire here, as they'll control personnel.  If we hire a good GM, then we should be in good shape.  That being said, its the lions, I dont know if they'll ever be able to hire a good GM.

11/14/2015 - 12:15pm As long as we win out and MSU

As long as we win out and MSU loses once more than we are guarenteed the division.  Ohio State could lose every remaining game of theirs and we'd still be above a two conference loss MSU.

That being said, if we want a longshot chance at going to the CFP, then we probably need to beat undefeated OSU and Iowa.
