Very OT- Looking for a TV series to start watching, need some "mgoadvice"
I think it's safe to say we all share a love for Michigan Football, and Michigan in general around here. But I noticed a lot of "TV talk" as well. With Game Of Thrones ending for a while now, just thought I'd ask the board for some help finding a new show to watch to hold me over for the next couple months while we wait for football season to kick in.
Maybe a Top 3 from everybody?
from the ones most people have seen, i.e. Breaking Bad, GOT, Walking Dead, etc., watch:
1. The Leftovers (HBO)
2. Rectify (Sundance/all episodes on Netflix)
3. Bloodline (Netflix)
4. Mr. Robot (USA)
I would still put the first 5 seasons of Rescue me up against anything.
Silicon Valley is my new favorite show
And as always, can't go wrong with Trailer Park Boys
Yes, Breaking Bad and The Wire are as good as everyone always said they were.

RuPaul's Drag Race (start with Season 4).
EDIT: And Rick and Morty! Season 2 just went up on Hulu a couple weeks ago.
Please tell me you are kidding.
Not at all, Rick and Morty is great! But I will admit that Rick's constant burping is pretty off-putting.
Haven't seen Rick and Morty so I can't comment on that.
I guess I am not into divas since I don't find RuPaul's Drag Race the least bit entertaining. To each their own tho.

Also, Sherlock is spectacular. If you haven't watched it, you should immediately. I think there's only 9 or 10 episodes, each about 90 min.
Love Sherlock.
Think I only made it through season 2. Definitely need to catch up. Fantastic show.
If you're a car perosn like me, it was wonderful, even if you're not, it was pretty entertaining television. The specials (save India) were great, and great travel shows. The filming and production was amazing. They did lots of stupid, yet entertaining things. As someone who works in the auto industry, this segment was pretty great:

The F1s going through round-abouts in traffic was hilarious.

Diff'rent Strokes
Gimmie a Break
Who's the Boss?
McGyver
Three's Company
Hawaii Five-O (original Jack Lord edition)
Facts of Muthafuckin' Life
A very solid list indeed. If I might add a few:
"All In The Family"
"The Bob Newhart Show"
"Night Court"
Over on the BBC side:
"The Fall And Rise Of Reginald Perrin"
"A Bit Of Fry And Laurie"
"Fawlty Towers"
"One Foot In The Gave"
"Blackadder"
Hawaii Five-O is going to take you a while. There's 12 seasons and 279 episodes, at an hour long each.
Silicon Valley is great
shows like the walking dead, house of cards, etc. just go on way too long, they get so boring. Anything more than two seasons of something that is not comedy is too much.
Good shows can go on forever, but most do tank after 2 - 3 years when the orginal vision has expired and they are now trying to stretch it only to make money.
Jump the Shark, anybody?
Play PC video games instead.
Video games are the worst.

Daredevil was mindblowing. I haven't been so thoroughly floored by a show or movie for that matter since Breaking Bad.
+1 for Daredevil. I haven't enjoyed a show that much in a long time.
+1 for first season of daredevil.
Second season didn't seem to start as well, but first season is just fantastic.
Sirens on Netflix - hilarious show, ended way too soon
Mad Men - discovered it late, but get the luxury of having all the episodes
30 Rock - I've rewatched this like 15 times
Others that I love:
Parks & Recreation
MI5
Sherlock
Dr. Who
Wallander
Arrested Development
House of Cards
I could go on forever... I'm now realizing I have a TV addiction.

1. Deadwood (HBO and maybe Amazon Prime)
2. The Americans (FX and Prime)
3. Hannibal (Prime)
Flip or Flop (HGTV)
"Her husband must have the patience of a saint, the hearing of old dog, and Hugh Hefner's appreciation for fake-titted bleach blondes."
is my baby! Tarek is a lucky man!
Edit: Those funbags are real, pal!

I know it's faked for the drama, but I like watching the transformation and I like Tarek and his lead contractors. The shows an easy way to kill some time and when I need some background noise when cooking or cleaning up the kitchen.
Time to find another house to flip.
LOST
Mad Men
All are available to run through on Netflix. Can't go wrong with any of them.
The Wire was awesome and with all the sh_t going on around Baltimore, still very topical.
Edit: I did see it fine print in one post above. Deserves more than that. Second highest rated series on IMDB after Breaking Bad.
