Cut me a fucking break, man. The Lions lost this game because they're the Lions.

The Browns and Lions, two of the most pitiful organizations in professional sports, lose in gut wrenching fashion in the same week.

I knew they would blow this game after being up 17-0! They're perennial losers!

Why is Calvin on the sidelines?

Maybe he is hurt?
He usually sits out when we play Green Bay.

Strangely enough, there were quite a few people that I had talked to - even a few in the media - that were convinced that the Packers would somehow make this a statement game. That didn't happen, of course - indeed, the Lions got off to a nice start and the Packers crept back into it, but it took a low-percentage play - a very Lions turn of luck - to get a good kick in the loins.
In reality, as much as the end made me mutter "DAMNIT", I am not upset.

In a lot of ways, this is the best possible result. The Lions demonstrated that they can hang with one of the better teams in the NFL, but they didn't ruin their high draft pick, so the new coach next season can start shaping the team as he wants.

After this game it should be agreed that he is not a fit or fix for the University of Michigan. His second half adjustments and play calling were not MgoReady.

This might show my (lack of) age, but there was an episode of Sister Sister back in the 90's where they were going to a Lions game and were stiching together some sort of a sign that said LIONS in big letters on it. Except they misspelled it LOINS and had to fix it. Whole credit scene was them hastily sewing the letters back on and pricking themselves over and over. Aaaaand that's pretty much all I remember from that show (except for the time they sang The Victors).
