Clever word play,  but can you respond to my post?   Why would Harbaugh lambast Michigan for lowering their standards for football players?

Remember a decade ago when Harbaugh bashed Michigan academics for it's athletes?  Mike Hart came out and said he wasn't a Michigan Man?

https://www.mercurynews.com/2007/08/02/michigan-players-coach-lash-out-…

Harbaugh told the Ann Arbor (Mich.) News, “I would use myself as an example. I came in there, wanted to be a history major, and I was told early on in my freshman year that I shouldn’t be, that it takes too much time, too much reading, that I shouldn’t be a history major and play football.”

The latest controversy started when Harbaugh, who was hired from the University of San Diego in December, told the San Francisco Examiner in May that Michigan lowers its admissions standards for football players and advises them to take easy classes.

One or

Swing and a miss.

One or two of the links I provided were after he won the B1G.

02/25/2018 - 5:40pm Izzo favored 20-game

Izzo favored 20-game schedule: "because fans, TV, even the coaches, you want to play the best people." Likes "truest champion you can have."

https://twitter.com/chrissolari/status/921027738932269056

Izzo said there will be strength at the top and the bottom will be a lot better too.

He then addressed the schedule, saying he was reluctant to go to 18 but wanted it to go to 20.

He said everyone wants to play the best people and while it takes away playing other teams, the schedule determines the true champions and lets the performance on the court do it.

https://www.landof10.com/michigan-state/michigan-state-tom-izzo-big-ten…

“One of the things that I miss is the full round robin,” MSU coach Tom Izzo said. “Now I think in saying that, the Big Ten would probably be happy with that. I don’t know if coaches would all because you want to play some non-conference games.

https://www.lansingstatejournal.com/story/sports/columnists/graham-couc…

"It's still a grind," MSU coach Tom Izzo said this week. "And it's still impressive that you've lasted the 18 games in some capacity. But I wouldn't say it's the same as when it was a true round-robin or even closer to it. I think what you're going to see happening in our league is what happened in the ACC and Big East, and that's the tournament becomes bigger than the (regular season), which makes no sense when you really look at it. Because you have a hot game or a bad game and you're out and here you withstood 18 games. That should be your true champion."

02/25/2018 - 5:20pm Besides their cupcake filler

Besides their cupcake filler games, Michigan State played Duke (loss), Uconn (blowout win), North Carolina (blowout win), and Notre Dame (blowout win) in their OOC schedule.  They can't pick their conference schedule and in most any other year,  that would be one hell of a gauntlet to run through.

Michigan has a great coach and a very good team this year ,  when they are defending well they are as good as any team in the country IMO.

Good luck in the tournament.

02/25/2018 - 5:14pm For as much as you guys rip

For as much as you guys rip on the RCMB,  the responses in this thread show that the collective maturity here is no better.

You get your wish,  I'll log off now.

02/25/2018 - 5:10pm Another example of someone

Another example of someone covering their ears when provided facts.

I'm having a debate by myself against your entire board and this is the best you can respond with?   Come on, don't let me win this easy.

02/25/2018 - 5:08pm Harbaugh is starting a

Harbaugh is starting a convicted felon.

He has been there 3 years,  these should not be bragging points for you.

02/25/2018 - 5:05pm Do some more research.  When

Do some more research.  When MSU said they would not bid on Bowen and cut ties,  he came out and said he has no relationship with MSU.

02/25/2018 - 5:02pm So when the FBI investigation

So when the FBI investigation is complete and if MSU and Izzo are shown to have completely above board,  will you still be calling him a cheater?

How about when the FBI, DOJ, NCAA, State of Michigan, however many other instututions are done investigating the Univeristy.  What if they find no conspiracy or cover-ups taking place,  will MSU still be a rapist University?

The cout of public opinion,  and especially the butt-hurt Michigan fans,  will always ignore the facts and claim otherwise.  It would be difficult to have a larger microscope placed on the Univeristy right now,  so if any form of corruption took place I'm certain it will be exposed.

You guys are betting it will,  I'm betting it won't.  Are any of you willing to to admit you will sing a different tune if the investigations turn up a culture of compliance?

02/25/2018 - 4:55pm I was asking an honest

I was asking an honest question to the Buckeye that I was told yesterday was as valued and level headed poster.  You in turn responded by talking about MSU having their season vacated.  That's deflecting.

To your comment,  the dinner was $70, not $400.  Bridges wasn't there,  and there was no link to any actual money changing hands.  A dirty agent who has already been charged with 3 counts of embezzlement placing "Miles Bridges Mom" on an excel sheet does not indicate a player was bought.

The reason he was cleared to play was that evidence was provided to the NCAA that no infractions took place.

I'm quite confident that MSU will not be impacted by this Yahoo report and there will be nothing vacated.

Are you willing to talk like an adult now?

02/25/2018 - 4:49pm So because your brother is

So because your brother is full of shit, that means that I am as well?  Sound logic.

How much money was proven to be paid out to the fab 5?

How much money was proven to be paid out to any MSU player?

02/25/2018 - 4:45pm I think you just took your

I think you just took your ball and ran home.

Throw shit against the wall,   have someone ask you to explain what you threw against the wall,  then claim I'm going down a rabbit hole.

02/25/2018 - 4:43pm I think this is what's called

I think this is what's called trolling.

Plug year ears,  ignore the conversation,  then scream "GO BLUE GO BLUE GO BLUE".

Very mature.

02/25/2018 - 4:41pm Where am I trolling?

Where am I trolling?

02/25/2018 - 4:41pm So me proving your comments

So me proving your comments completely wrong mean nothing because you are going to move the goal posts?

02/25/2018 - 4:39pm No,  just pointing out the

No,  just pointing out the baseless insults.

You guys don't realize the glass house you live in,  it's comical to the outside world.

02/25/2018 - 4:37pm Link to 16 assault complaints

Link to 16 assault complaints please.

02/25/2018 - 4:35pm It's not a claim when it's

It's not a claim when it's supported by facts.

02/25/2018 - 4:34pm Your theory is not backed by

Your theory is not backed by any fact.  Until then,  it is evidence of you hoping that is the truth.

02/25/2018 - 4:32pm You do reazlize who the

You do reazlize who the ingham county prosecutor from 1996 through a year or two ago was Stuart Dunnings, Jr.

Dunnings was an avid Michigna fan (has season tickets to M football / basketball),  as well as a graduate from Michigan.  He had a reputation of being harder on athletes than normal prosecutors because of his bias.  This doesn't fit your narrative,  but unfortunately these are facts.

The fan favorite of Michigan State wrote this in 2015:

http://www.espn.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/111518/otl-msu-athletes-accused-of-crimes-face-same-prosecution-rate-as-non-athletes

02/25/2018 - 4:27pm Except with Gibbons and

Except with Gibbons and Lewan?

02/25/2018 - 4:26pm I posted football because I

I posted football because I was pretty sure the post I was responding to was lumping in Football,  as I'm not sure how else he would be making the claim he did.

02/25/2018 - 4:26pm Are you seriously having this

Are you seriously having this discussion?  You are talking about a culture at Michigan State and have a football coach that has been there 12 years and a basketball coach that has been there 22 years.   Please take a loot at your program over that same time period.

02/25/2018 - 4:22pm What team do you think OSU

What team do you think OSU has a better chance against in the B1G tournament, Michigan or MSU?

I know OSU and UM both smoked MSU this year,  but are you confident that would happen again if they play?

02/25/2018 - 4:21pm How many rapes did MSU have

How many rapes did MSU have this year?

02/25/2018 - 4:15pm You sound civilized.

You sound civilized.

02/25/2018 - 4:14pm Well since Michigna State has

Well since Michigna State has not been proven to have paid any players in the last 25 years,  I think Michigan still takes the cake there.

As for arrrests?   We can look recently if you'd like:

Nate Johnson (September 30, 2017)
Grant Perry (December 21, 2016)
Alex Malzone (April 26, 2016)
Jim Minick (May 9, 2015)
Frank Clark (November 15, 2014)
Csont’e York (August 8, 2014)
Jake Butt (April 2014)
Graham Glasgow (March 15, 2014)
Taylor Lewan (December 2013)
A.J. Williams (October 27, 2013)
Fitzgerald Toussaint (July 21, 2012)
Frank Clark (June 2012)
Will Campbell (April 7, 2012)
Josh Furman (February 11, 2012)
Darryl Stonum (January 6, 2012)
Darryl Stonum (January 5, 2012)
Marvin Robinson (November 2011)
Darryl Stonum (May 6, 2011)

Or if you want to make program comparisons ,  we can look at this guy's research from 2015.  I'm sure the last year would put MSU on the list,  but please get off your ivory tower.

02/25/2018 - 4:08pm For your sake , sure,  I'll

For your sake , sure,  I'll find a quote in a bit for you.  It's been stated many times over the last few years.

02/25/2018 - 3:56pm Yes, we actually do.
Has

Yes, we actually do.

Has Michigan ever experienced cheating, players beating women, or convicted felon getting playing time?

02/25/2018 - 3:52pm Actually he has mentioned

Actually he has mentioned publicly it takes the significance of winning the regular season conference championship away. That includes this year.

He will be the first to say the unbalanced schedule benefitted his team this year.

Don't let facts get in your way.

02/24/2018 - 11:41pm Yes the trolling will go away

Yes the trolling will go away as well. I originally felt compelled to create this schtick because of the UM trolls on the MSU board doing the same thing. It has ran it's course and I'm fine dropping it.

Civil discussions are a much better use of time.

02/24/2018 - 10:17pm You don't make a whole lot of

You don't make a whole lot of sesne but I'll try to respond.

I have many friends that are UM grads and I've hired a few UM grads. They don't talk or act remotely similar to the "fans" from the internet. They understand a predator (albeit UM grad) did horrendous things for many years and fooled many in the process. They hope , as do I, that anyone found with direct knowledge of the events that did anything to prevent Nassar from being exposed are brought to justice. This goes way beyond sports allegence and is appalling to all of us.

This has nothing to do with MSU football or basketball. If facts are presented that link the two, I'll stop defending them. I guarantee you I'm as informed as anyone on this board about the facts , and the facts don't support a "culture of rape" at the University. That is a narrative that the sports fandom hope exist, it's far from a fact.

02/24/2018 - 9:43pm The craziest part of all this

The craziest part of all this is that your sports fandom has made you giddy about predator molesting women because he wasn't in your corner.

I won't point out the inaccuracies in your post , I'll just pity you.

02/24/2018 - 9:07pm It must suck looking up to

It must suck looking up to MSU in football and basketball for over a decade.

Let's hope for another banner year for Harbaugh, maybe reach for a 3rd place finish in the division this year ? What happened to him running college football? Have the goal posts moved again ?

After the loss this upcoming year, you will be 3-9 against Dantonio.

Cheers.

02/24/2018 - 8:43pm Absolutely, and like most

Absolutely, and like most Spartans fans I want anyone involved to be identified and brought to justice.

Unfortunately for you, Izzo and Dantonio are above board and the investigation will ultimately prove that. If not, they need to be fired and face consequences as well.

02/24/2018 - 8:29pm Why would they not play him ?

Why would they not play him ? It's becoming abundantly clear there was nothing shady in his recruitment. He turned down money from multiple schools to play for Izzo and continue the Flint pipeline. Timing matters , and the $400 allegeded to his Mom came 6 months after he signed with MSU. He also turned down millions to come back for his sophomore year, despite his mom wanting him to go pro so she could get the financial stability from his success.

As for vacated wins, you do realize Michigan still carries the banner for the largest pay for play scandal in college basketball history ?

02/24/2018 - 7:19pm Pretty sure MSU just won the

Pretty sure MSU just won the big ten and Michigan is looking up at them. Props on the win in EL, it's a shame you got your teeth kicked in by Northwestern and couldn't win the games you were supposed to.

Looking forward to a rematch in the BTT

02/24/2018 - 5:49pm You don't think the -95

You don't think the -95 points is a giveaway ?

02/24/2018 - 5:43pm You are a super sleuth.WD

You are a super sleuth.

WD and I actually have a ton in common.

*We both have zero affiliation with Michigan
*We both have an obsession with Michigan sports
*We both live in our parents basement

It must be difficult living life in the 10%

02/24/2018 - 5:31pm I made it first , he stole it

I made it first , he stole it from me.

02/24/2018 - 5:15pm Hate to break it to you, an

Hate to break it to you, an excel sheet with names, not even naming her "Cynthia" , isn't evidence she took money.

02/24/2018 - 5:13pm You are one of the most

You are one of the most insecure whiners on this board , I love it.

It must be difficult to go through life with such resentment.

02/24/2018 - 3:44pm Did it ever occur to you that

Did it ever occur to you that both the NCAA and MSU knew about this prior to Fordes article ?

02/24/2018 - 3:00pm Oooops

Oooops

02/20/2018 - 9:43pm Ah yes, the fab five did so

Ah yes, the fab five did so much for us. I can't wait to have another bankrolled team that sets our program back 20 years.
