Think maybe it was on Madonna.

Its one thing to say thanks but no thanks, but its entirely different to start questioning a college freshman's mental state. That's just shitty.

I'm going to say it - his parents have been too soft on him. Dude is 20 and acts like a 12 year old drama queen.

What's his status? Does he have to sit all this and next year before playing somewhere else?

Two years is a long time to sit out. I assume he could transfer and start practicing somewhere next year

Butt may or may not be here next year. Even with that, we could have him and TW Jr as our starting TEs for the next two-three years after that. Though he may turn 20 soon, he's still months out of high school. The calling out his parents and "toughness" makes people sound more immature than him.

I knew about this the week before that. Best of luck from me, too.

i think JH can land some quality future TEs w/o Clark's baggage, especially since JH has showcased all 3 TEs already this year in just 2 games.
September 13th, 2015 at 2:16 PM ^
I'd still rather have Upshur, not that he's coming...

Yeah, we don't want a 5 star TE because he's leaving UCLA makes him soft or something. UCLA is doing well in the rankings, but the culture there is a shitshow. There's no reason to believe that he didn't walk into that program and was like, Yikes, the weather and the girls aren't worth this, especilaly when he's living across the country from his friends and family.
It's just as likely that he got to UCLA and realized that he made a huge mistake not coming to Michigan and being coached by Harbaugh.

Bruins Nation is, of course, on it but no real reason for the departure just yet, at least not explicitly given. They talk a little about the events just prior to the announcement, if you're interested:
It mentions, in particular, a tweet sent on Thursday alluding to him already being in the "201", or the Ridgewood, New Jersey area as the Bruins were preparing to play UNLV.
September 13th, 2015 at 2:26 PM ^
The most important question is: Why is Clark still follwing a Twitter account named UCLA FOOTBALL EQUIPMENT?
Was the new style helmet with the little floating U shape in the front involved? Conspiracy theories abound. There are so many layers and here, we may never know the truth.
September 13th, 2015 at 2:40 PM ^
Maybe he just got homesick. It happens sometimes.
September 13th, 2015 at 2:46 PM ^
That can happen but the kid knew full well when he committed to UCLA he'd be going across the country. We might never know the full truth but I think its more than just being homesick. I think he realized what many have witnesses with Mora is that he's a dick to play for.
September 13th, 2015 at 2:42 PM ^
He wants nothing to do with either of em. The notion that Harbaugh would now want him is silly at best and frankly I wouldn't want a headcase like Clark on my team if I am Harbaugh.

Since you seem to be an expert on the personal lives of everyone connected to the program, how exactly are their situations different? Please elighten us with your personal knowledge.

If you're going to call someone dumb, at least make sure you're using coherent sentences.
September 13th, 2015 at 3:54 PM ^
Sorry you are got bent out of shape over my comment. I should have elaborated due to his various verbals I "believe" that he is a headcase. Deal with it.

Oh god. Maybe you need to grow up a bit. Some people just aren't mature enough to comment on MGoBlog and that's fine if you're one of them. Maybe spend a couple years at Maize 'n' Brew, then come see us.

The irony is that you're saying someone else failed. First, look at oneself.
September 13th, 2015 at 3:00 PM ^
If JH and staff are interested in Clark, I am interested in Clark. Although I have my reservations. If they are not, I am not. There is always more to a story and I am not a professional coach. Neither are any of you....
September 13th, 2015 at 3:05 PM ^
Acutally there are many coaches on here, some professional.
September 13th, 2015 at 3:21 PM ^
You're right. I was being presumptious and became exactly what I was railing against. I simply trust our coach to make the right decision. This is what I should have stated. Please accept my appology.
September 13th, 2015 at 3:10 PM ^
September 13th, 2015 at 3:24 PM ^
Maybe not. But I do know who professionally makes the decisions for Michigan Football and I trust his judgment. Sorry if you were offended.
September 13th, 2015 at 3:26 PM ^
I'm not saying homesickness isn't the reason for him leaving, because who the hell knows at this point why he left, I would just find it surprising if it was something like that considering he went to a prep school 5 hours away from home so is used to being away at school.
September 13th, 2015 at 5:57 PM ^
It's like moving to an entirely different planet. I'm not sure anything in my life could have prepared me for moving there when I was 18 years old.
If you are not an LA type of person, it is a very very strange place.
