O.T: Cris Carter advises rookies to get a "fall guy" for crimes they commit.

Cris Carter is right--we could all use a little Lee Majors in our lives to take that flack for us.

What is more offensive is that he's clearly only talking to black players.
He brought Bridgewater from Miami up on stage acting like the guy can't wait to roll up and down South Beach drunk and high. He didn't bring up Blake Bortles.

Project much?
August 23rd, 2015 at 5:54 PM ^
Yeah, I'm sure he would use words like "crew", "rolling on bankroll" and "homeboys" if he was talking to white players.
"Andrew Luck, lemme bring you up here, you from Stanford right? I know you can't wait to roll around drunk and high with your homies on yo bankroll but when you get pulled over make sure some other fool in your crew goes to jail for it."
Riiiight.

Chris Borland was in attendance. He wrote about it before but didn't name Carter. I'm sure there were other white guys in the audience as well, but you do realize there are a lot of black dudes in the NFL, right? It's not like he picked Bridgewater because he was the one black guy there.

Ben Roethlisberger says hello.

Goodell has clearly been using Tom Brady as one of his fall guys to mask over RG's gross incompetence in handling all of the other recent cases of NFL players getting into real trouble.

This is actually good advice for all of us. Looking at you, Uncle Jang Song-thaek.

... for so eloquently illustrating why Rashan Gary's mom would never consider letting her son get involved with the OSU.

I am sure Cris has a good excuse as to why his Buckeye teams lost to Harbaugh and UM back in 1985 and 1986. Probably the refs fault or he had an injury or some other obnoxious excuse.

I'm sure he'll love the spotlight if media members bother to look at the video.
August 23rd, 2015 at 6:04 PM ^
Apparently he had no fall guys when he was picking up prostitutes.

Good to know that my initial impressions of Carter being a douchebag when watching his football commentary is confirmed from this rookie symposium.
How about: "Don't be the jackass who gets caught in the situation that he NEEDS a fall guy?".

so-called team. They have no respect nationally ... except bye ESPN so thats legit.
Send your kids to Ohio to learn how to cheat and cover things up. Nice.

But this is fucking ridiculous.
I hope he has a fall guy to take the blame for that comment and "advice"

No doubt Cris gets canned for this. Which is ironic after his crusade against Tom Brady and deflategate regarding "legacy".

does not have a fall guy (Reggie certainly won't do it!) and he is on the hook for $300k...at least that is the last episode of Ballers I "seen."
August 23rd, 2015 at 8:10 PM ^
Nothing really surprising, thats why these guys have entourages. Even Kenny Powers had a fall guy.

He could advise them that now that they have some serious coin it's time to break away from the hood. If the player wants to "give something back", then CC should have been advising them to help somebody else to break away from the hood. CC does nobody any favors by advising them to remain in the hood with the caveat that they retain a fall guy.
August 24th, 2015 at 9:05 AM ^
and I'm sure he (and it's also obvious), but would they listen? Would people change their behavior? The fall guy makes sense for certain people.

Probably not how he wanted it to come out, but if I'm a player sitting there I'd rather hear real-life applications of the things I'm going to run into as a newly minted young millionaire than someone droning on about whatever else I'm sure they're forcing me to sit through...
