He was out with Jake Ryan, Kovacs & some current guys.
One of the guys was talking about the 4 hour practices and another one said aww, they're not so bad, which caused an immediate loud outburst of laughter as refutation from everyone else! Which turned into "well, it will be good for us in the long run" :)
There was also a comment about the new coaches being unbelievable, in a positive sense.
Vastly different rules apply.
What part would be a violation, that he met alums?

And I can't stop laughing.

Michigan v Iowa is not on the schedule for 2015
Michigan will play at Iowa on Saturday, November 12, 2016, however.
Choose wisely, Kirk.

Give the man to us for 2015, when it can't hurt you, or we will destroy you as payback in 2016.

Give us Rucock and, yes, you will get destroyed in 2016, but it'll just be the normal kind of destroy (well, the kind that will become normal under Harbaugh). Withhold Rudock and you get the Angry Harbaugh kind of destroy--the kind that leaves you so humiliated that your children will deny they know you.

I think the implication being that there's no downside to letting him come here this year, but if you refuse there will be punishment the year following
March 19th, 2015 at 10:41 PM ^
If he doesn't come here, then we break in a new QB in 2015 who will be experienced in 2016 when we play them, whereas if he comes, he'll probably be the starter in '15 and then we'll be breaking in a new guy in '16.

Iowa is the new Purdue for snake oil.
March 19th, 2015 at 10:47 PM ^
Ferentz already said he could come here and play if he wanted.
March 19th, 2015 at 10:52 PM ^
What I respect about the guy already is that in spite of us having somewhere between 8 and 1,456 quarterbacks already on the roster, Rudock wants to come here and compete.
I really like that as compared to players like a certain Detroit area high schooler who shall remain nameless that went to OSU because Michigan (allegedly) promised him we wouldnt recruit any other RBs.

It will happen. The only thing Delany dislikes more than flack from his buddies at Wisconsin and OSU is negative PR. The negative PR nationally for not allowing a QB who doesn't (right now) have a lot of pro potential go to a school with a top 10 medical school and use his last year of football eligibilty would be enough for Delany to allow him.

ADs would have input and a transfer upsetting the normal way of building programs would be a legitimate argument against allowing this transfer. It's not other teams or rivals fault that M has not developed or recruited QB talent and this isn't the NFL where you can trade for players to shore up weak areas. Michigan has to build their program the right way like everybody else. That's going to be the rhetoric anyway. I believe the argument for this transfer is that making M competitive now is good for the leagues major rivalry and the bgtn image if M is a respectable program and the sooner the better. Not sure that it's an automatic approval.

In their defense, the B1G couldn't provide an immediate yes because Rudock hasn't even officially decided that he wants to come to Michigan (yet...).

I don't know how you could swing any grad program and play football at the same time given the time commitment that football requires. I had a helluva time just getting A's and B's at UM and I basically did nothing but study. And there's generally no hiding academically at the grad level, whereas in undergrad you can Sports and Daily Life in Ancient Rome or The History of Witchcraft or Greek Mythology if you don't want to work hard (not that I would do that...but seriously, the Classic Civ Dept is a gem when it comes to easy classes).
It's definitely doable. Nine credit hours is fulltime in grad school (sometimes 6 hours with an assistantship). It wouldn't be that unusual to have one or more sections online. He could do 9 hours in the fall then jump to a heavier load and focus solely on his studies in the spring.
