Anyone putting OSU in top 4 is a JOKE
Navy, Virginia Tech, Kent State, Cincinnati, Maryland, Rutgers, Penn State, Illinois, Michigan State, Minnesota, Indiana, Michigan.
That schedule is hot garbage. That list includes TWO teams that don't flat out suck.
TCU is #4 with a bullet. They've played SEVEN legitimate teams.
It's a damn joke that this is even a conversation.

Unfortunately, you might be right. I mean they replaced their heisman candidate QB (Braxton Miller) with a heisman candidate QB. Urban Meyer runs a system, Ohio State recruits in such a fashion, and their schedule typically affords them the opportunity to break in new QBs. That said, I don't think the playoffs is a "break a QB in situation" but the point still stands.
Also, the Urban Meyer hype machine will be in full force if they win the B1G title game. We all know how good he is at that.

Will, Melvin Gordon is going to expose ohio. Wisconsin wins by 2 + touchdowns.
November 30th, 2014 at 1:56 PM ^
Oh, totally agree. This one is Wisconsin's to lose. I really just meant that if this were week 1, that 3rd stringer would have likely led Ohio State to the same record (maybe, just maybe one loss vs MSU.)
November 30th, 2014 at 12:16 AM ^
They beat TCU, and their only loss was to a ranked team on the road (West Virginia).
This will, however, become a moot point after Melvin Gordon racks up another 200 yards rushing on OSU and Wisconsin wins.
November 30th, 2014 at 1:17 AM ^
Baylor won't beat KSU, especially without Petty if he's out. The Baylor defense is atrocious. TCU's defense just had that one aberration against Baylor.
November 30th, 2014 at 1:21 AM ^
my money would be on KSU in that game.
November 30th, 2014 at 6:09 AM ^
TCU should be undefeated right now. They just decided to take a nap in the 4th quarter, and let Baylor score 24 points to beat them
November 30th, 2014 at 12:16 AM ^
Tell us something that we don't already know. It doesn't matter cause they'll lose next week.
November 30th, 2014 at 12:17 AM ^
TCU's win over Minnesota actually looks really good now. It sort of just looked like "Lol Big Ten" a few months ago, now it's a sold win for TCU
November 30th, 2014 at 12:42 AM ^
they kicked their fucking heads in.
If style points matter as they've never mattered before, the Horned Frogs have been styling.
November 30th, 2014 at 12:18 AM ^
Chill. No way OSU gets by Wisconsin with Jones at QB.
November 30th, 2014 at 12:42 AM ^
so OSU has that goin for them.
November 30th, 2014 at 12:18 AM ^
The only undefeated team in the country is ranked 3. Despite my negative feelings towards FSU, that poll is already a joke.

Which they should be. However, with their strength of schedule lacking and close calls in that lack of strength they also deserve to not be on top. I am not sure how you are being objective here? The word 'joke' is a long way on the wrong end of the spectrum. Maybe 'questionable' would be better? Debateable might be another as well as 'suspect' or maybe another synonym of your choice. Dont take this as an attack just a different perspective on wording.

Well the backup ain't been playing school, so it's time to see how good he is.
November 30th, 2014 at 12:19 AM ^
They are a good team. Road wins at MSU and Minnesota are good, but they need a decent OOC win to boost their resume. I don't think they have a championship caliber defense, but Alabama just gave up 44 points so what do I know?
November 30th, 2014 at 12:19 AM ^
J.T. Barrett probably won't be able to play anyway. Who wants the Big Ten to be represented in the first playoffs by a team quarterbacked by Cardale Jones?
November 30th, 2014 at 12:24 AM ^
I just also think it's outrageous that this is even being put forward - and make no mistake, it's being put forward by plenty of national talking heads.
They had an AWFUL ooc schedule, they play in an awful Big Ten, and they even had the shit version of the Big Ten schedule (missing Neb, Iowa) (also were missing Wisky, although that is about to be remedied).
But having only two games against teams that aren't awful, I mean, that is pathetic for a team being considered for the top 4.
November 30th, 2014 at 12:20 AM ^
Karma's a bitch, as OSU is about to find out. In 1973, a small group of people screwed Michigan's post-season hopes because their quarterback (Dennis Franklin) got hurt in the season's last game.
Same thing is about to happen to the Buckeyes.

November 30th, 2014 at 1:37 AM ^
Nah, it'll never come to that. They won't win in Indy. OSU's shaky rush defense is going to get destroyed by Wisconsin and their offense with Jones at QB won't keep pace.
November 30th, 2014 at 1:57 AM ^
Shaky rush defense? Did you not see #97 today? He was in Michigan's backfield all day long
November 30th, 2014 at 7:31 AM ^
And yet Drake Johnson ran for 5 yards per carry against them.
November 30th, 2014 at 12:20 AM ^
the top 4" - that's the question this jackass asks.
You fucking muppet, they AREN'T IN the top 4, it's just OSU media hype.
If you aren't hearing the coverage out there banging the drum for OSU, you aren't listening.
Rod Gilmore hasn't been able to shut up about this for weeks.
November 30th, 2014 at 1:56 AM ^
I fucking hate ESPN for that crap. It makes me sick they have so many games televised on their networks.
November 30th, 2014 at 12:26 AM ^
You play the cards you're dealt...
Not saying OSU would beat TCU or vice versa, but could OSU have done any better this season besides the VT game?
November 30th, 2014 at 12:28 AM ^
I'm just saying you put the two teams merits against each other, and man, TCU has showed up week after week against tough comp. OSU scheduled a crappy OOC, and play in a terrible conference. Sucks for them.
November 30th, 2014 at 12:31 AM ^
Well they could have not consistently struggled with shit teams, so yeah.
November 30th, 2014 at 12:45 AM ^
up until ~5:30 to go in the game, fergodzsakes.
November 30th, 2014 at 3:23 AM ^
And, Miss St. lost to a 3 loss Ole Miss team, Bama struggled with Auburn and FState barely held off a putrid Florida team...so, a 2 touchdown win over your most hated rival ain't bad. To put it bluntly, Mizzou is in the ESS EEE SEE Title game and they lost--at HOME--to Indiana. Yes that Indiana that UM beat. If Bamma doesn't find some defense, they may lose to a no account team from Columbia MO!!!!! I don't like Ohio, but i'm done with the Hype of A&M, LSU, Georgia, Florida, Miss. St, and Ole Miss. You realize that Ole Miss went from nobody to #3 by beating Bamma, at home, and then went on to lose 3 games....Mich St. and Minn and a convincing win over your arch-rival UM...not to mention beating Wisky if they get in the playoffs....is every bit a validation for the playoffs as Miss.St would have been or Mizzou if they beat Bamma. BTW, you did see Baylor BARELY survive unranked TTech tonight, right? And Baylor Beat TCU. Baylor's only loss was to a 5 loss WVa team by 2 touchdowns!!! OSU beats Wisky and they are IN...and should be. Sorry, but gotsa speak the truth.
November 30th, 2014 at 7:23 PM ^
I will disagree with your 'truth speak'. Alabama beating Mizzou will have not impact on Alabama's credentials. So the point that Mizzou is in the ESS EEE SEE Title game and thier bad loss to Indiana will be mute. Alabama's one loss to Ole Miss is not a bad loss regardless of Ole Miss' three losses. If Oregon takes care of business against Arizona their credentials are solid for the playoffs. If Arizona wins I would argue they have a better SOS and their losses are not as bad as the one osu loss?
I agree with your point about the hype on a&m, lsu, georgia and ole miss. Miss St. was beat by an excellent Bama team. Their loss in a rivalry game should be taken into account (see Ohio playing close with Michigan)? I would point out that osu's win vs. Michigan was Not convincing. Two touchdowns difference at home in which one of them was a Defensive TD vs a fumble prone QB?
Baylor's close call with TTech is of no consequence to their credentials as Baylor's D has not been elite anyway? They sure can score in a hurry though. TCU's loss to Baylor is not bad because Baylor's escaped a scrappy TTech team. As the Big XII is tougher top to bottom than the BIG. TCU's SOS is unquestionable strong.
I do not believe that osu beats a good Wiscy team (down to an unproven QB in a conf. chmp) Even if they do Alabama winner of SEC is better, a Ore conf chmpshp over a good Zona team is better than osu. FSU is iffy for me in the top 5 but they are undefeated and probably will remain that way. TCU plays in a better conference, has better sos, their loss is a better loss. Leaving osu out!

This is incorrect. The selection protocol is here: http://www.collegefootballplayoff.com/selection-committee-protocol and it doesn't call for the best team at the end of the season, but rather for the four "best teams" in terms of body of work, with acknowledgement of injuries.
I'd argue that OSU isn't one of the best four teams by those protocols even without the injury issue. With injuries, I do agree with your conclusion even while challenging your assumptions.

He's being a jerk, but it's probably not your best day to be over here if you want to avoid that kind of stuff.
Besides, what are you going to hear that you have not heard five times already from this board? Here's the synopsis:
- Hoke sucks.
- Meyer is a good coach but we hate him anyway.
- We've talked about Harbaugh so much that we've convinced ourselves he's coming here without any real evidence.
- OSU people are not as mean to us in the Shoe as they used to be.
That's about it. You're good until the new coach is hired. C'mon back then.

Whatever, I don't give a fuck about the difference.
November 30th, 2014 at 12:52 AM ^
If you guys get past Wisconsin, what do you think the final score would be in a hypothetical Bama-Ohio St 1-4 game? I'm thinking 49-14 Bama.
