OSU RB Chip Trayanum enters Transfer Portal
I realize that Ohio State always has a lot of talent but they are losing a lot at RB if Henderson enters the NFL draft.
December 6th, 2023 at 8:19 PM ^
You hate to see it, eh?
December 6th, 2023 at 8:24 PM ^
Pretty sure if they lose anybody else the same player will need to do both the O.H. and the I.O.
December 6th, 2023 at 8:44 PM ^
You expect them to remember all 4 letters? They don’t go there to play school
December 6th, 2023 at 9:14 PM ^
They are so stupid it takes 2 of them to spell Ohio.
December 6th, 2023 at 9:23 PM ^
"That would be the capital O, Bob. You know, Big O, little h....do I have to spell the whole thing??"
December 6th, 2023 at 9:23 PM ^
You win the internet today, sir
December 6th, 2023 at 9:31 PM ^
Harbaugh has that covered.
December 6th, 2023 at 10:32 PM ^
This is fantastic. T shirt!
December 7th, 2023 at 10:48 AM ^
I second that emotion!
December 6th, 2023 at 9:05 PM ^
Will he have to give back any of his signing bonus?
December 6th, 2023 at 10:13 PM ^
Did Conor Stalions get a signing bonus?
Too soon?
December 6th, 2023 at 10:17 PM ^
At this rate, I'm not sure Ryan Day will have hung 100 on us by the end of next year's game.
December 7th, 2023 at 5:24 PM ^
Was their best RB and hardly had any carries this year in the Game
December 6th, 2023 at 8:20 PM ^
Lol. There are signs in Columbus that are not worth filming!!!
December 7th, 2023 at 10:50 AM ^
Well, was gonna ask: Is this mass exodus a result of dissatisfaction with Day and OSU? Or the desperation with which Day is moving guys on? Likely to create some resentment, no?
The more guys you lose the more unstable the floor may become. . .
December 6th, 2023 at 8:20 PM ^
So they're going into a complete rebuild on offense? QB, top three rushers, top four receivers all gone (assuming Henderson, MHJ, Egbuka, and Stover declare as expected).
December 6th, 2023 at 8:29 PM ^
Just gonna sit back and watch how 11Whiners will explain this away as “he wasn’t worth our time anyway”. The offensive rebuild is going to be very interesting to watch from afar this off-season.
December 6th, 2023 at 8:54 PM ^
They think everyone's coming back other and Burke and MHJ (although some think he will come back too).
December 7th, 2023 at 8:41 AM ^
If MHJ comes back because he wants to win a national title and/or finally beat Michigan, in some small way I can admire him for that, but I'd have to call out the absolute sheer stupidity of doing it.
His stock can't ever go higher than where it is right now. He's absolutely, 100% guaranteed to be the first non-QB off the board in this year's draft. Why put all of that on the line to come back next year, risk getting injured, and tanking your earning power by millions? Maybe even tens of millions.
I'd say the same thing if this were McCarthy we were talking about. If he was getting talk as being a consensus top-5 pick, he'd need to go. Of course I'd want him back, but he'd be foolish to come back, because all it takes is one injury to take all of that away.
December 7th, 2023 at 9:59 AM ^
He'll come back if he can make more money at OSU than as a rookie in the NFL.
December 8th, 2023 at 1:28 AM ^
MHJ does have the advantage of having dad's financial backing unlike most players. Money might be less of a priority for him when he can pay for insurance in case the worst happens and if OSU boosters throw the money bag at him.
December 6th, 2023 at 11:03 PM ^
They are already spinning it as Ryan Day is reloading. It’s also a backhanded way for Day to blame McCord for the loss.
Day has zero morals and the signs of a narcissist. He can’t take the blame even now (after the 5 plays, one half, and his PI sign stealing excuses) and has to have someone new to blame.
December 7th, 2023 at 12:51 AM ^
Myself, I prefer 11Worriers, but 11Whiners is pretty good.
December 7th, 2023 at 11:56 AM ^
Thank you! I appreciate that! :-)
December 6th, 2023 at 8:42 PM ^
I can’t imagine any one of those guys would decide to stay with all the uncertainty at QB looming.
December 6th, 2023 at 9:24 PM ^
A few reporters on the beat are saying that due TreyVeon Henderson’s injury history, he did not receive the draft grade/projection that he wanted and he is leaning towards coming back to hopefully prove that he can put together a full season.
Henderson’s two major injuries were relatively unrelated to each other - Last season, he played in a broken foot that he got surgically repaired during the offseason - This season it was an unnamed “upper body injury” during the Notre Dame game that lost him a good chunk of games.
December 6th, 2023 at 10:19 PM ^
I actually think Henderson should come back. If he has an entire season like he played the last half of the season, he will skyrocket up the draft boards. The only knock I will give him is he is way too easy to bring down. He has elite speed though and will be just fine at the next level.
December 6th, 2023 at 10:54 PM ^
my favorite T. Henderson highlight was seeing him get trucked by Mikey Sainristil.
December 7th, 2023 at 7:44 AM ^
I wouldn’t fault Henderson for choosing either direction. I don’t think the decision is as clear-cut for him.
The 2nd half of this season showed that when fully healthy, Henderson is a top-tier RB, but he has essentially had 1.5 seasons worth of play taken from him at this point.
Last season, Henderson played thru a broken foot and he said it was extremely painful to drive his legs thru hits or to accelerate like he wanted too. If he heals up fully and stays, he has a chance to show he isn’t just elite speed, but has some power/short-yardage ability in his repertoire as well.
December 7th, 2023 at 9:19 AM ^
Don't know your perspective here when you say skyrocket up the draft boards. If you mean get back into the mix with whatever other 3/4/5 running backs are taken with the first group when NFL teams start making the run on backs in the 2nd/3rd round, then yes he has a chance to move up there. He'll get a shot at the NFL, but he's not going in the first round.
December 6th, 2023 at 10:33 PM ^
Another season isn’t going to help that. That’s another year of abuse on you body as a RB. Henderson, like Edwards, would be better off risking being elected in day three and going from there then coming back and potentially suffering another injury.
December 7th, 2023 at 7:05 AM ^
It is definitely a gamble, so he might still declare... but if he thinks he's a Day 1 talent vs. a risky Day 3 draft pick, then he could be making much more:
Illinois's Chase Brown was drafted on Day 3 and signed a ~$4.1 million/4-year contract with $286,156 in guaranteed money.
Texas's Bijan Robinson was a Day 1 pick, and signed a ~$22 million/4-year contract that is fully guaranteed.
The gamble may even be worth being Day 2 pick, Zach Charbonnet's contract was ~$6.9 million/4-year and $3.8 million of it was guaranteed.
Depending on Henderson's NIL situation, he's probably fine making the gamble to get a dramatic increase in guaranteed money for his rookie contract.
December 7th, 2023 at 9:15 AM ^
RBs have short lives. I think all of them should go. I was surprised Blake came back and obviously happy but again RBs have only so much tread on them.
December 6th, 2023 at 9:28 PM ^
Rumor down there is Henderson is coming back... But until he formally announces, who knows...
December 6th, 2023 at 10:56 PM ^
While I am sure this would please the t(tm)OSU fans it's almost always a bad decision for running backs to stay any longer than necessary in College. The stats bear out a career expectancy in the league is limited and, as such, earlier the entry then sooner to second contract (if possible) as that is where the real money is located. Corum coming back (post surgery) made sense if only because the league would have markedly downgraded him mid-rehab. No injury last season he would have had to leave.
If Henderson is made of balsa wood, however, perhaps an extra year of t(tm)OSU NIL is the right move for him.
December 7th, 2023 at 7:18 AM ^
I agree with your last point completely. Henderson seems to get injured a lot and I don't see him lasting in the NFL for more than a couple seasons. I wonder what he gets in NIL money down there..
December 7th, 2023 at 12:28 PM ^
If he's made of balsa wood and gets injured again next year, that will surely hurt his draft stock even more. This year he's played well post -injury, and if he looks good in the bowl he should go. Corum got hurt at the end of last season: the timing of it hurt what chances Blake might have had in the 2023 draft.
Timing of injury is a critical factor in these decisions.
December 7th, 2023 at 8:15 AM ^
None of the osu players are going to know what its like to play in The Game. Its going to be Michigan men vs the osu portals.
December 7th, 2023 at 1:07 PM ^
I expect them to have top transfers. They won't take a step back from a couple skill positions leaving. We beat them with depth in the trenches anyway.
December 6th, 2023 at 8:22 PM ^
I don’t know if I could handle hearing Gus Johnson exuberantly call him “Chipper the Ripper” again.
December 6th, 2023 at 10:49 PM ^
I'll be honest, I loved Gus Johnson.... Until I watched him do several games in consecutive weekends.
December 7th, 2023 at 9:39 AM ^
Gus lost me during The Game 2019 when he was constantly slurping Dobbins and his incarcerated father.
December 7th, 2023 at 1:08 PM ^
He's silly funny for like a half and then his schtick gets old pretty quick.
December 7th, 2023 at 10:16 AM ^
I like Gus and I think it's very evident that he's a positive guy with a lot of enthusiasm for the game of football. That enthusiasm and positivity come out when he's calling the game, no matter who he's talking about. I'll take that passion and enthusiasm when he's describing a big play for Michigan or for our opponent.
I'll say this - I would take Gus and Klatt in a heartbeat over whoever ESPN has lined up to call the Rose Bowl.
December 6th, 2023 at 8:24 PM ^
Big if for Henderson. I say start working towards that 2nd NFL contract young man!
December 6th, 2023 at 8:48 PM ^
Henderson would be crazy not to declare with his injury history. If he is actually healthy end of season, he def should leave before he gets hurt again. IMHO
December 7th, 2023 at 9:12 AM ^
True. If he’s healthy and can show out at the combine, he’ll be a 3rd rd pick.

Something strange is afoot at the shoe.
