"Detective" Scott Bell notices something interesting about Twitter activity today from our coaching staff
Looks like one side of the ball is quite active on the Twitters while the other is strangely quiet.
A foreshadowing?

I believe it's been discussed or brought up in a few threads already?
December 16th, 2020 at 1:01 PM ^
It very well could have because I'll admit I havent read all the comments in all the recruiting threads. I didnt see anything specific to the topic posted as a thread for discussion which is why i created it. Seemed "interesting" to say the least, to me anyways.
If this is redundant news I apologize and I'm sure the mods will delete it.
December 16th, 2020 at 1:06 PM ^
I wouldn't say redundant. I would say that we're getting a number of indicators just in the last day or so that may tell us something about the disposition of the staff. And we don't really have an organized conversation about it.
And it would be a pretty big deal, all told. Because if we conclude that the entire D side of the staff is scheduled for defenestration but that the O side is staying (a theory of which this data point is but one component), that tells us a lot about what to expect going into next year. Harbaugh is committed and Michigan is committed to him for the season; an extension will be signed; the offensive staff will be retained; the defense is cleaning house.
This is as much information as we've had available to us in quite a while. I think it's very worthy of discussion.
December 16th, 2020 at 1:12 PM ^
I agree with you 100%. I believe all indicators point to the Defensive staff not being retained and the Offensive staff told that they are. Thus, you have to deduce that Harbaugh is staying and an extension is just a formality. Hopefully with a significant reduction in pay that can be thrown at hiring a talented DC and coaching staff.
December 16th, 2020 at 2:35 PM ^
It boggles my mind how just a year ago this D completely dominated Notre Dame. It's the last game they lost! I think they had 50 yards rushing or something like that. And now the defense is a complete dumpster fire. How does that happen so quickly ?!?
December 16th, 2020 at 2:46 PM ^
Unfortunately, It may just be coincidence, but as more and more of the defense has become Harbaugh / Brown recruits and not Hoke's the defense has gotten worse every year.
December 16th, 2020 at 3:58 PM ^
The front seven, seemed to have gone from Hoke type big bodies like Mone and McCray, to the tweeners like Kemp and Barrett... different philosophies brought different body types.
December 16th, 2020 at 3:47 PM ^
Keep in mind that that game was played in a monsoon. Neither QB could throw but Kelly was slow to figure that out.
December 16th, 2020 at 3:59 PM ^
Remind me why Greg Mattison left. What exactly were the circumstances? Other than this one game against ND, our defensive prowess seems to have dropped precipitously after his departure.
December 16th, 2020 at 4:24 PM ^
He got promoted from DL coach to DC with double the pay?
December 16th, 2020 at 1:13 PM ^
I think guys like Zordich and Shoop not tweeting is sort of irrelevant in that Shoop is gone regardless and Zordich doesn't seem like a guy who tweets much at all. My guess is Zordich would be the only guy likely to survive a defense apocalypse regardless.
December 16th, 2020 at 2:10 PM ^
Wondering out loud: Can Shoup actually be “gone” when he was never “here” in the first place?
December 16th, 2020 at 7:01 PM ^
I hope so. Zordich is our in with the '22 trio of corners in Jackson, Gould and Johnson. The recruiting of those 3 will take a step back if he's gone.
December 16th, 2020 at 1:16 PM ^
Naw. You’re good. I like the post. Some people just have to look like real assholes. Seek attention! Lol
December 16th, 2020 at 1:24 PM ^
I appreciate this thread because I haven’t read through all the threads today. Most of them usually end up going on and on about the same shit and not even discussing the original topic of the post.
December 16th, 2020 at 1:50 PM ^
Didn't mean anything by it but i guess an official thread was needed.
December 16th, 2020 at 1:53 PM ^
I appreciate the thread - it offers some concrete evidence to what I've only seen implied elsewhere. And granted, I haven't read every comment of every thread because I only have time to scan mgoblog in little breaks from work, but that makes threads like this even more helpful
December 16th, 2020 at 2:16 PM ^
I appreciate the thread too, but it's just tweets man, not concrete anything. For all we know some of them not Twittering might have better things to do.

Umm - have you visited this site lately?
The posters here kick the dead horse, keep stomping it, then chain it up and drag it down the dirt road behind their rusty Ford pickup.

While "True, true" may not match the scintillating wit of all other MGoBlog comments, I'm not sure it required downvotes.
So you might want to consider an alias. Something clever that no one would figure out, like Chuckeye.

Thanks. 'Pershiated.

But Huge's show is unlistenable and therefore, not huge.

December 16th, 2020 at 12:55 PM ^
Assuming Harbaugh is retained, if those four are the coaches retained...I suppose I’m okay with that.
Im only iffy on Moore.
December 16th, 2020 at 12:59 PM ^
Moore is the highest rated recruiter on the staff.
December 16th, 2020 at 1:17 PM ^
And the worst coach on the staff. His TE group has been not good...
December 16th, 2020 at 1:54 PM ^
Outside of Warriner that's kind of a low bar to clear right now, isn't it?
December 16th, 2020 at 1:00 PM ^
Moore better be back. He's far and away our best recruiter and it isn't even close. We should be trying to find 5 more like him not get rid of the one we have.
December 16th, 2020 at 2:38 PM ^
If Gattis is retained he must be demoted!
December 16th, 2020 at 12:56 PM ^
Hell, our lack of defensive signings today in itself should be a 'foreshadowing'.....
December 16th, 2020 at 12:56 PM ^
Donavan Edwards: But can he coach zone?
December 16th, 2020 at 12:58 PM ^
Right, at this point we need to start recruiting two-way players... who are also willing to be player-coaches.
December 16th, 2020 at 1:01 PM ^
Perhaps we need three-way players. Player-recruiter-coaches.
