Goodbye: O’Maury Samuels
Title says it all. This was news to me but apologies if it was previously known.

Every time i hear someone mention Barrett and Haskins in the same sentence it always takes me a minute to realize they are talking about our team.
February 7th, 2019 at 11:30 PM ^
Maybe the upside is we will be forced by personnel to run less, at least between the tackles and field more receivers.
February 8th, 2019 at 1:07 PM ^
All the attrition of late at RB is an even bigger problem after Michigan missed on Gray in the last recruiting class. That only gives us one true scholarship RB in the 2019 class.
February 7th, 2019 at 9:19 PM ^
WTH? Make it stop
February 7th, 2019 at 10:56 PM ^
He wasn't even on the team. Chill out.
February 7th, 2019 at 11:35 PM ^
Sarcasm
February 7th, 2019 at 11:37 PM ^
Would you like a Xanax
February 7th, 2019 at 9:22 PM ^
Guess this means we'll have to pass the ball more!
February 7th, 2019 at 10:58 PM ^
I guess it means nothing since he hasn't been on the team in months.
February 7th, 2019 at 9:22 PM ^
Having no running backs on the team is one way to insure we run a pass oriented offense next year with our 5 Star Senior qb and stud wr's.*
*I've been wrong before
February 8th, 2019 at 12:49 AM ^
ie: insure vs ensure
February 8th, 2019 at 6:15 AM ^
assure vs insure vs ensure
February 8th, 2019 at 7:30 AM ^
I'm unsure
February 8th, 2019 at 12:15 PM ^
...they all said with great surety.
February 8th, 2019 at 12:43 PM ^
And they bonded together afterwards.
February 8th, 2019 at 11:57 AM ^
No, then we hand off to the tight end
February 11th, 2019 at 4:13 PM ^
mbrummer is this the same "5*" QB that the site PFF rated as higher than Haskins this past year? No clue what formula they are using but in every sense it is wrong. Shea is not the answer, We HAVE to open up the QB comp in Spring and give Shea a push to actually throw deep balls that don't get under thrown or he doesn't panic in the pocket
February 7th, 2019 at 9:24 PM ^
Whuh? Michigan announced his departure a month ago.
February 7th, 2019 at 9:52 PM ^
December 12th to be exact
February 7th, 2019 at 9:24 PM ^
I hope this is an early indication that Samuels has seen Charbonnet and decided he's a dude
February 7th, 2019 at 11:00 PM ^
I think the fact that Samuels has been off the team for months and hasn't seen anyone, much less Charbonnet, means your indication is incorrect.
February 7th, 2019 at 9:32 PM ^
At least Samuels has his health and the rest of his life ahead of him—Keith Jackson is at death’s door, sadly.
*Update—he passed.
February 7th, 2019 at 9:39 PM ^
Hilarious man, well played!!
February 7th, 2019 at 10:34 PM ^
Not again.
February 7th, 2019 at 9:33 PM ^
Sweet. This means more Bench Mason at tailback.
February 8th, 2019 at 9:23 AM ^
Agree. We probably see more single back Mason sightings, or....wait for it....a Mason-VanSumeren jumbo package that makes opposing defenses quake. That could be fun in small doses.
February 7th, 2019 at 9:37 PM ^
Goodbye yellow brick road
February 7th, 2019 at 9:43 PM ^
This may have had something to do with today's tweet. Hope he gets back on the right path. "There is no proof that I hit a woman" is not the best line to leave town on.
February 7th, 2019 at 10:04 PM ^
I'm so confused.
Hey, guys, Derrick Green is no longer on the roster.
Also, Justin Fargas is transferring.
Just thought I'd let you guys know.
February 7th, 2019 at 10:20 PM ^
LOL, anyway Magnus have you polished off your recruiting capsules? I would like to read those. Thanks.
February 8th, 2019 at 11:52 AM ^
I'm still going through them. #10 comes tomorrow morning.
February 7th, 2019 at 11:01 PM ^
Magnus, thanks for the updates. Any word on whether opportunities for carries will open up for Justin Feagin, Austin White and Kareem Walker?
February 8th, 2019 at 9:55 AM ^
I have it on good authority that Justin Feagin is transferring to Colombia.
Not the university, but like the country.
February 8th, 2019 at 10:55 AM ^
That made me chuckle! LOL
February 7th, 2019 at 11:04 PM ^
Do you think Ryan Mallet is going to transfer? Rumors are saying Carr advised him to leave.
February 8th, 2019 at 12:09 AM ^
I don't want to alarm anyone but I heard rumors that Antonio Bass got hurt. Could be a leg, maybe a knee; sounds bad- idk
February 7th, 2019 at 11:39 PM ^
Thanks for the insight. Cool.
You're 100% sure that before today there was zero chance he could have a shot at coming back?
February 8th, 2019 at 9:53 AM ^
I'm not 100% sure of anything.
But 99%, yeah.
February 7th, 2019 at 11:21 PM ^
Must have been living under a rock
February 7th, 2019 at 11:40 PM ^
There is no evidence that former Michigan defensive end Chris Rock was his upstairs neighbor. When last we heard of him, Chris Rock had joined the Ohio State football team as a walk-on in 2013. LINK
February 8th, 2019 at 12:52 AM ^
ooo boy we are about to see a lot more passing this year. Going to be fun to see.
February 8th, 2019 at 12:55 AM ^
Well that settles that. 2200 points is still too low a threshold to be able to post a thread. How does someone here for 10+ years still think Samuels is a part of the team?
February 8th, 2019 at 7:14 AM ^
I agree with that neither Evans, Samuels, nor Taylor have shown those abilities (pick up blitzers, block, etc.). So, we just have fewer bodies, but all of which lack proven ability. I will say I was very excited about Samuels potential and athleticism and dude was yoked. Good luck to him.
February 8th, 2019 at 9:40 AM ^
Good luck O'Maury. Sorry to see you go.
February 8th, 2019 at 9:51 AM ^
Wilson.
February 8th, 2019 at 9:54 AM ^
RB is a huge problem. Charbonnet is a really good recruit, but I do not expect him to be able to step in and be our lead back as a freshman. I love his agility and vision, I wish he had a little better speed and burst though.
I am 100% in favor of finding a grad transfer RB. We need someone to carry the load.
I really like Christian Turner, but if he was better than Chris Evans he would have gotten more carries last season.
Does anyone really think Tru Wilson getting 20 carries a game is going to be a good thing?
February 8th, 2019 at 10:30 AM ^
A really good OL helps cover up a lot of issues you might have at RB. Four of five starters return on the line (I believe only JBB is leaving), and they definitely made big strides last year under Warriner. No reason to assume they won't continue to do so next season.
I agree in that its not an ideal situation at RB, but I suppose I'm more optimistic than you are.
February 8th, 2019 at 8:51 PM ^
Except that none of our returnees is really good. We're still ok, but nothing great on the OL.
February 8th, 2019 at 10:25 AM ^
Feel like this has been news for a while. But we'll be fine w/o him. Tru Wilson looked pretty good in the chances he was given this past season, Christian Turner should be a good one, and then you've got a great RB in Charbonnet coming in.
If there is any position on the field where a true freshman can come in and make an immediate impact, its RB. As long as the OL keeps progressing, we will be fine at RB. It will also help our RBs that Patterson is always a running threat himself. One more guy that the defense has to account for.
