12/12/2018 - 8:25pm Mike Hart was a highly…

Mike Hart was a highly productive back right from the start of his freshman year.  Not one of the many backs Harbaugh has recruited has been even close to that good, at any point.

12/09/2018 - 10:10am Bo also beat OSU half the…

Bo also beat OSU half the time, and actually won a LOT of Big Ten Championships.  Harbaugh...0-4 says it all.  No championships of any kind, not a single signature win in 4 years.  What you've seen is what you get under Harbaugh.

12/09/2018 - 10:07am You saw the passing game…

You saw the passing game that Harbaugh wants this year.  Dink and dunk most of the time, with a strict limit on deep throws and using elite receivers to their capability.  Patterson is a solid QB, but that's all.  He's not a difference maker, he's not a big game player.  Nothing is going to happen to improve that.  We are still completely lacking in speed and home run threats on offense.  And our defense certainly isn't going to get any better.

Harbaugh has peaked.  That's the unfortunate reality.

12/09/2018 - 10:01am Seriously?  Sorry, but this…

Seriously?  Sorry, but this game is meaningless as far as recruiting goes.  No one is going to flip no matter how much we win by.  By the next day, no one is going to care how Michigan did in another third tier bowl game.  We lost the game that mattered big time.

12/09/2018 - 9:25am We're just as far now as we…

We're just as far now as we were three years ago.  Harbaugh has peaked.  It's pretty clear that we're going to be somewhere between 8-4 and 10-2 about 90% of the time. He is not an elite coach, and giving him more "time" is not going to change that.

12/09/2018 - 9:19am Hey, stars don't matter,…

Hey, stars don't matter, right?  The three star, 106th safety in the country that we get to replace him will be just as good because hey, we trust the coaches!

12/06/2018 - 4:01pm Agreed. Our receivers were…

Agreed. Our receivers were badly underused. We ran an uninspiring, dink-and-dunk passing offense all year with far too few deep throws and very few opportunities for our receivers to use their size and make plays.

12/06/2018 - 11:12am Is it the same PR firm that…

Is it the same PR firm that is handling the Nasser scandal for John Engler?

12/06/2018 - 10:39am Avoiding the rumor or…

Avoiding the rumor or refusing to deny it makes things even worse.  If the media try what you suggest, then the next time the rumor comes up, HARBAUGH can put up a video of the media spouting bullshit.

12/06/2018 - 10:14am No, he’s not. If the rumor…

No, he’s not. If the rumor is truly groundless, all he needs to do is issue a one line reply: “I am not interested in the {insert sucky NFL team} job. I’m staying at Michigan”.

If he won’t or can’t say that, the rumor will persist until the job is filled.

12/05/2018 - 7:55am It’s bye games, btw

It’s bye games, btw

12/02/2018 - 4:31pm And ACC in basketball just…

And ACC in basketball just as bad as SEC in football.  ESPN has been deep-throating Duke all season, even worse than usual.

12/02/2018 - 7:59am We had one...Ohio State…

We had one...Ohio State. Didn't go well, which is why we're relegated to another third tier bowl.

12/01/2018 - 6:18pm Just to note, Purdue was…

Just to note, Purdue was averaging 83 ppg....we held them 26 below that.

11/19/2018 - 2:50pm Bottom line, if we can…

Bottom line, if we can generate a pass rush in the second half, we’ll win. If not, it will be like the Maryland game, and will come down to the final minute and the refs.

11/18/2018 - 11:31am OSU is what matters.  10-1…

OSU is what matters.  10-1 is nice, but 10-2 with a loss to OSU, no division title, no conference title and no playoff is just another good season from Harbaugh.  We already know he can go 9-3 +/-.  Now he need to show he can win the big games with something on the line.  And he's not going to run up against a softer Urban Meyer team than this one.  If he can't beat him this year, I don't know when he's ever going to.

11/18/2018 - 9:58am It is, in fact, possible to…

It is, in fact, possible to be too big to play OT.  A guy who is 360 in high school is almost certain to have a lot of bad weight, and will probably have a lot of trouble controlling his weight all through college.  Would rather see a guy come in around 275-300 at most, and let the S&C coach bring him up to ideal playing weight in a good way.

11/17/2018 - 8:07pm Horrible, cowardly play…

Horrible, cowardly play calling all day. No confidence in the passing game any time it mattered.  Terrible mental preparation.  And will one of the coaches please tell Kwitty Paye to keep coming until he hears a whistle? That one stupid mistake set the tone for the whole game.

11/17/2018 - 9:46am It can be doubted whether…

It can be doubted whether even Patterson himself  knows yet whether he's going to return for another year or not, so anyone else's take on that should be filed under Hot Smelly Clickbait Garbage at this point.

11/15/2018 - 10:19pm Not having a QB that is a…

Not having a QB that is a threat to run changes OSU's offense fundamentally from what it's been for a long time. And makes it far easier to defend, as we'll see in a week.

Bag man is an honorable profession south of the Mason-Dixon Line...

11/13/2018 - 7:22pm Michigan isn't being …

Michigan isn't being "punished" for playing that game.  They are being rated lower than the team they lost to in that game.

11/13/2018 - 7:18pm If the circumstances were…

If the circumstances were reversed, EVERY single person on this board would be saying "We're undefeated and we beat them head-to-head. Case closed"

You know that.  I know that.

11/11/2018 - 9:28am For a little perspective,…

For a little perspective, Oklahoma gave up 501 passing yards yesterday. In one game.

11/04/2018 - 2:55pm The one thing they don't…

The one thing they don't have this year is a running QB.  I don't think people quite realize just what a huge advantage that's been for them for a long, long time.

11/04/2018 - 2:52pm Can we please stop being…

Can we please stop being obsessed with the idea of "slot" receivers?  They're just receivers.  They do nothing in our offense that other receivers don't do.   I hope this guy turns out to be a productive player, but we've failed to effectively use guys with his purported skill set pretty much without exception.  So let's just make him a "receiver" and leave it at that.

11/03/2018 - 11:09pm LSU is horribly overrated at…

LSU is horribly overrated at #3. They have nothing.  They are a classic example of why there should be no polls until October.  Their ranking got a huge boost from beating Auburn and Miami early (when they were both still top 10 teams), before it became obvious that neither of them was that good.

Fortunately, they are out of the playoff picture for good.

11/02/2018 - 12:49pm Penn State has some players,…

Penn State has some players, but they just don’t pass the eyeball test as a strong team and a stern test for us. I think we lay a bad day on McSorely and win by at least a couple TDs.

11/01/2018 - 7:09am So who exactly does Klatt…

So who exactly does Klatt think the committee included in the top tier that is horribly undeserving?  The committee is never going to satisfy everyone, but they are trying to differentiate teams based on very scanty information, the most obvious deficiency being that many of the teams being considered either won't play each other at all.  Even if you expand the playoff, there will always, always be gripes about the last teams in and the first teams out.

10/29/2018 - 4:31pm We were in so much trouble…

We were in so much trouble that we won the Big Ten tournament and went to the NC game.  If Simpson puts us in that kind of “trouble”, I’ll have some more, please.

10/29/2018 - 10:32am What he most needs to do is…

What he most needs to do is improve his free throw shooting. Big disadvantage at the end of close games to have your primary ballhandler such a liability at the line. A bump up on 3 point shooting would be nice, too. Even if he’s only hitting 33-35%, that’s enough that defenses need to pay attention to him.

10/28/2018 - 7:06pm Have to think that line will…

Have to think that line will see an adjustment in the real world of betting, but on the field, Penn State does not pass the eyeball test for a strong team.  I will not be surprised if we beat them by quite a bit more.

10/27/2018 - 9:51am Question 1- Hard to say, but…

Question 1- Hard to say, but definitely not Sanders. Probably Aikman, but any of those other guys are at positions I would also spend a high #1 pick on.

Question 2-Obviously not Mandarich (sorry Packers). Maybe still Aikman, and in 1989 maybe Sanders. Today, definitely not Sanders.  The NFL is just too pass-oriented any more. You don't need a great running back to be succcessful in the NFL these days, and using a high pick on one is overspending, even for a generational talent.

10/27/2018 - 9:42am Or put it a little…

Or put it a little differently...and more hypothetically...suppose you're an NFL GM, and you can either draft a guy you know will have the career of a Barry Sanders, or a guy you know will have the career of a Tom Brady. Which do you take?

You take the QB in a heartbeat,100 times out of 100.

10/24/2018 - 3:16pm Still a little skeptical…

Still a little skeptical about whether Gary will ever be back. If this were just an ordinary injury hiatus, with a reasonably likely duration, why have the coaches been so cagey about his status?

10/21/2018 - 9:33am The committee won't give any…

The committee won't give any consideration to how our defense is ranked.  They are looking at game results, not stats.  And our schedule may turn out not to be as tough as it looked when the season started.  Certainly neither Wisconsin or MSU are as good as expected, and probably not Penn State either (not after we take them behind the woodshed in two weeks).  That's one of the main reasons why they don't release rankings until the end of October, when they have a better idea how good teams really are.

10/21/2018 - 8:21am No need to report that…

No need to report that beating, Urban..the whole country saw it

10/20/2018 - 9:33pm I have the feeling we won't…

I have the feeling we won't see Gary in a Michigan uniform again. His injury will still take a long time to truly heal, and he's not going to risk his draft status just to play 1 or 2 games.

10/19/2018 - 9:15pm Well, we'll know by about 3…

Well, we'll know by about 3 PM, won't we?

10/18/2018 - 2:03pm They made plays on that last…

They made plays on that last drive. Throwing and catching. Penn State didn’t. Penn State made mistakes. Everything that happened on that last drive was controllable by one team or the other. That’s not “luck”.

UTL I- Robinson to Gallon. Was that “luck”?

10/18/2018 - 1:46pm No, they didn’t get “lucky”…

No, they didn’t get “lucky”. They did a better job making plays that mattered than Penn State. The fact that something is less likely than average does not mean it’s “lucky” when it happens.

10/18/2018 - 1:42pm The dropped INT was not …

The dropped INT was not “luck”. Catching balls or not catching them is a matter of skill and talent, not “luck”.

10/14/2018 - 2:13pm If our Oline can give our…

If our Oline can give our RBs decent room and protect Shea all day, and if they can grind out first downs with a lead in the 4th quarter, then I'll be willing to call them at least good.  So far, we've played only one legit defense, and we didn't get the job done then.

And how many times have we been better than MSU "on paper" and lost?  A few.

10/14/2018 - 10:11am Franklin did the same dumb…

Franklin did the same dumb thing we did three years again. Tried to drain the clock with nothing but run plays against a very good run defense, got stopped on downs and had to punt. Every coach in creation seems to get a tight sphincter at the prospect of throwing a pass to get a first down in that situation, 'cause OMG if it's incomplete, the clock stops and I'll get second guessed! I have seen SO many games, college and pro, lost by that kind of conservative play with a lead at the end of the game.

10/14/2018 - 9:20am Blanket Felton Davis. They…

Blanket Felton Davis. They will need him to have a huge game in order to win. Do that, and get pressure on Lewerke in spite of all the holding they will do, and we'll win comfortably.

10/11/2018 - 6:52pm Winovich is an elite pass…

Winovich is an elite pass rusher.  How many better have you seen this year?  That alone may get someone to spend a first round pick on him.  Second round at worst if he keep playing this way against better competition.

10/08/2018 - 10:38pm People have this delusion…

People have this delusion that trickery is more important than talent and execution, but it just isn't.  We really, really don't have a whole stack of plays that we're holding back that opposing DCs have never seen before.  There is also a big difference between being deceptive on any particular play, and simply not being predictable on down and distance.

10/08/2018 - 10:31pm Except that all of that…

Except that all of that supposed cunning has never worked.  Harbaugh has yet to win a big game against a favored opponent in 3 1/2 years.

10/07/2018 - 3:13pm Since we haven't played a…

Since we haven't played a quality opponent since week 1, it's a little hard to tell if we're actually "getting better week by week".  We're getting solid wins against teams that are nothing special, but we still have done nothing against high quality opponents, especially on the road.  Still in wait and see mode.

10/07/2018 - 3:10pm No, the late season losses…

No, the late season losses that have been a hallmark of Harbaugh's tenure are not the result of "dumb luck" (whatever the heck that even is).  Very little in college football is a matter of luck.  It's a matter of doing controllable things better than the opposition, and we haven't done that when it's really mattered.  It's only when you don't do those thing and end up losing that you call it "luck".
