Hugh Jackman fired from Browns

Somewhat inexplicable that a guy who went 1-31 was retained, but then fired for going 2-5-1 with 4 overtime games played. The team besides yesterday has seemed to show improvement.

Why i'm trying to find logic in anything out of Cleveland though might be the more baffling question.

They are an “almost” football team, and I think the coach has been holding them back from getting over the hump. They should have more than 2 wins really.

Also how hard is it to find a kicker???? Geez.

Now all they need to do is hire a new GM, then draft a new QB in a few months.

They should also do something about those uniformz.  Like add in a fade helmet like Jacksonville & digital numbers like Tampon Bae.

Browns gonna Browns

Didn't know Hugh Jackman was ever hired in Cleveland....Things must be going really bad in Hollywood for him if he decided to completely change careers and work for the Browns instead.

Snarky jokes aside, how could you not fire him? No word in the English language can adequately describe the level of failure his teams have achieved in Cleveland. It's not like they don't have talent there.

You ever take a bite of a sandwich and it’s just awful? You’re so hungry so you convince yourself the next few bites have to be better than the first. You really don’t want to look around and pay for another sandwich so you say fuck it even though you know you’re gonna throw it away soon. You take a few more bites and you realize you should’ve just quit after the first...

Thats Hue Jackson. A really bad sandwich. Probably Arby’s.

Your analogy is close.

Imagine though your Jimmy Haslam and your reputation is being the most picky eater in the world and a guy who never, EVER finishes his sandwhiches.  No matter how good they are Jimmy just eats one or two bites then fires the sandwich.  So Jimmy decides to show the world he isnt that picky and is going to finish the next sandwich he gets no matter what.

Hue Jackson was that last sandwich.

Most hilarious stat I saw about this (via Adam Schefter): this is now SIX STRAIGHT Browns head coaches fired the week after Cleveland's second game against the Steelers.

media (cbs) already using other media speculation (nfl network) to list Harbaugh as a potential candidate for position.

Jim Harbaugh, HC, Michigan

This one is going to make a lot of people in Michigan mad, because Wolverine fans are firmly entrenched in the idea that Harbaugh will never leave Ann Arbor, but I heard it floated by Daniel Jeremiah on NFL Network and it makes sense to at least consider. I'd like to remind them that many people were putting Harbaugh on the hot seat prior to this season because of his inability to beat Ohio State and the other B1G rivals or, at the very least, starting to make waves about whether or not Harbaugh was the answer in Michigan. Harbaugh won 10 games in each of his first two years, but people wanted more. He might be getting it this year, starting the season 7-1 with a 5-0 in-conference record. Harbaugh could end up winning a conference title and maybe even winning a national title (or at least playing for one) and that could solidify his standing with the team. Or maybe winning big could ultimately result in Harbaugh trying to get back in on the professional level. He and Dorsey seem like a duo that could work together, and the Browns fit a similar mold to the 49ers when Harbaugh took over in San Francisco. There's a young quarterback, a lot of young talent on defense and it doesn't feel like the Browns are that far off if they can land a huge head coaching upgrade. Harbaugh took the Niners from the dregs to an NFC Championship Game in a single season. He might not be a beloved figure in Ohio because of his status as a Michigan guy, but this would be an opportunity to win big and resurrect a floundering franchise.

Haslam is an activist owner, no way Harbaugh goes to another team like that with a strong activist owner, and a very strong personality at GM like Dorsey (who keep in mind had issues coexisting with Andy Reid in KC and lost the power struggle there).

They probably never liked him and didn't want him to win.  Now that he is and the team is coming around they'll hire a coach they actually like who will do a worse job.
