Still a wee bit nervous though that we have not played well on the road yet.

This is the source of the small sliver of doubt that I have about our chances this weekend.  Everything else tells me that we match-up well against MSU and if we play a clean game, we should win comfortably, but we just seem to not play well on the road.

But I can't believe that not every one of these guys is focused and determined.  I mean, if we're tired of hearing the narrative around how Dantonio "has our number', I can't even imagine how it must make the players feel.

"The offensive line continues to grow and improve, just as Ed Warinner’s lines did at Ohio State. By the time Thanksgiving rolls around, this will be a cohesive unit with only veterans on it. What they lack in individual talent will be made up for in technique and execution. That’s just how it goes."

Wow, that's almost like premeditated "surrender cobra".

Yeah, it's funny I was in a debate with one of the OSU accounts about how I think OSU has dropped the ball in State of Ohio recruiting, and he blamed all of their major in state misses on Warinner since most were OL, therefore implying he was a bad recruiter.

So when I said, since our OL recruiting sucked anyway, I'd rather have the improvement that Warinner seemed to be bringing to our OL, he basically agreed he'd rather have that too.

The cognitive dissonance to get rid of a guy who could turn lower rated guys into a great OL because he couldn't recruit 5* ........that is the definition of hubris.

It's interesting that you crap on a fan base for wanting to get rid of a guy that couldn't recruit 5* OL.  Because, that is essentially the main complaint against Drevno - that he whiffed on every big time OL he tried to recruit.

The comparisons in actual coaching aren't good, although everyone of us enjoyed how the 2015 and 2016 OL's played (all Drevno, all the time).  We knew the personnel had issues, but the lines generally played above their talent on the whole.  The 2017 OL was a mash up of two OL coaches coaching the OL.  All we hear growing up is that the OL must be a cohesive unit, and spend time together, to be any good.  So we split them up with two coaches that had very different OL strategies.  That plan didn't work...

I will readily admit that the improvements we've seen with Warinner this year, appear more impressive than what we saw in both 2015 and 2016.  But I'm not sure that the addition of Greg Frye last year didn't derail some goodness that was growing with Drevno.  Then again, I don't that anyone could have made last years OL decent at football...

There's definitely some apprehension in this write up.  I think the depth of Warriner's work with the O-line, save the ND game, is becoming an "Oh, shit" type of realization for future opponents.  Even in 2016, an above average O-line closes out the ohio and Iowa games.  Now it's becoming apparent that this group is proving capable of doing that, all the while Don Brown's defense is now fully realized and terrifying (while holding out Gary and limiting Solomon).

I got the snark aspect, was still struck by the weird tone of his writing, then again, I was probably reading too much into it.  He's been hedging this year, as if he's managing expectations.

Enjoyable to see that from the OSU side once again

" and in so doing they joined 4-3 BYU as the only two teams in the nation to have beaten the Badgers this season "

That's the typical snark I've come to expect.

My favorite bit of snark:

If you can't run the ball, you can't win this game. One of these two teams is hitting it's stride in the ground game. The other is hitting a defensive line. Repeatedly.

Lots of stuff here that is complementary toward Michigan but this is one he repeats:

"I wrote yesterday and probably tweeted that one of the main differences between the Ohio State defense and the Michigan defense is that the Buckeyes always look like they’re about a man-and-a-half down, while the Wolverines generally look like they’re playing 13-on-11."

As we’ve also seen, without pressure, Haskins doesn’t make too many mistakes. With pressure, however, those mistakes come at a much greater clip.

When we do get to The Game, whatever state we're in at that point, this is what I am most interested in seeing - Haskins with someone in his face for the entire game as he's not experienced it too often yet.

The line I like best was written last week: "...bringing a one-dimensional offense against this Michigan defense is just asking to be debacled."

Ask Wisconsin if this is true...

Michigan Monday has reverted back to its original purpose . . . to keep a very wary, concerned eye on that dreaded Team Up North.

It's not all shits and giggles anymore.
