Be prepared for 2 home night games
Heard this from someone I know who has it on good authority that Michigan-Penn State will be a night game and it has been confirmed as a night game even before the season started.
I've never been one to make a thread like this but I'm calling my shot on this one and let the chips fall where they may.
This morning when the news came out about next weekend being a night game I checked with them on it and even after asking them about how there was a 2 for 1 deal with 2 night game sin 2017 in exchange for 1 in 2018, they still told me it's happening.
So prepare yourselves. Be early, be loud. For all the remaining games starting with this Saturday at Noon.
Go Blue!!!!!

if this was already known, why would it not already be announced?
October 1st, 2018 at 5:34 PM ^
If each team has 3-4 losses by then it will change. It's basically like the NFL flex policy. They have games in mind but it can change.
October 1st, 2018 at 6:44 PM ^
Just as long as they don't make the game a 6-day announcement/flex. 12 days I can live with, but 6 is awful from a planning perspective. And those 6-day announcements happen way too often.
Outside of Week 17, even the NFL doesn't allow their TV partners to make 6 day flexes.

Are you planning on making the trip this year?
October 1st, 2018 at 10:57 PM ^
WOW!! You are such a good guesser!!
October 2nd, 2018 at 12:03 AM ^
Did that really take you 4 hours and 4 minutes to come up with?
October 2nd, 2018 at 8:11 PM ^
You're not as witty as you think you are boston. You are a bland, predictable commenter.
October 1st, 2018 at 7:53 PM ^
Night games have to have a 12 day notice.
October 2nd, 2018 at 7:52 AM ^
I would gladly take night games against Wiscy and PSU if we don't have to play at night in EL. Any news on that game yet?
Also, all home night games should be automatic maize outs. I still remember the awesome sight of the maize out with yellow pompoms in the first UTL game against ND.

Like a silent commit, but only different.
October 1st, 2018 at 10:56 PM ^
You don't know what you're doing.
October 1st, 2018 at 5:28 PM ^
How can I prepare myself? Carrots for better night vision?? Start going to bed later to acclimatize myself to cheering late at night?? Power drink from noon until midnight during the week to get my alcohol tolerance up??? HELP!!!

Hotels for folks traveling from a long ways.
Or mentally preparing by not working on Fridays.
October 1st, 2018 at 6:05 PM ^
I've been not working mentally on Fridays for years, so I'm all good there.
October 1st, 2018 at 6:25 PM ^
Yeah I think I'm gonna go ahead and "work from home" on Friday.
October 2nd, 2018 at 7:55 AM ^
That's exactly what I thought last Friday as I was in my car heading to the casino for a full day of poker.
October 1st, 2018 at 6:50 PM ^
I see you with that self-deprecating comment WD
October 1st, 2018 at 5:33 PM ^
Fun fact, the narrative that carrots give you better night vision was created by the British during WW2 to prevent the Nazis from learning that they had radar and were thus able to more easily shoot German planes down at night.
October 1st, 2018 at 5:35 PM ^
So they lied??! Typical of the British. Smh.

That's pronounced baastards.

No, no, no, just a misstatement.
October 1st, 2018 at 5:36 PM ^
Yeah, we’ll i invented the name “carrot.” They used to be called Orange Dirt Sticks until me
October 1st, 2018 at 5:48 PM ^
Orange dirt sticks is what those nasty things are.
October 1st, 2018 at 10:58 PM ^
Maybe MGoRedneck would be more appropriate.
October 1st, 2018 at 5:33 PM ^
My preparation will be that I subtly maneuver social obligations and visits from the in-laws to Friday night or Sunday. Maybe Saturday morning I devote myself to finally helping the wife hang the kids’ framed school artwork. That sort of thing. At least that is what I assume The Devotee to mean.
October 1st, 2018 at 5:33 PM ^
Bloody Marys all day every day---with a dash of carrot juice, of course.

October 2nd, 2018 at 7:57 PM ^
AAGO.
There's only 9 holes to choose from, so good luck!
:-)
October 1st, 2018 at 5:41 PM ^
I will prepare by slaking my thirst on the blood of the vanquished while howling tribute to the Moon God...wait. That's after night games. I'll prepare by smoking a bowl and listening to "The Victors." The usual.
October 1st, 2018 at 10:02 PM ^
....but will you....
October 1st, 2018 at 11:00 PM ^
Inquiring rednecks, like you, want to know. You like that Deliverance song, don't you.
October 1st, 2018 at 6:13 PM ^
Fun fact: Carrots don't actually help with vision. This was attributed to the British in WW2, see they figured out this whole "radar" thing and it was still classified. When asked how they were so good at identifying German planes even at night they said carrots.
October 1st, 2018 at 6:33 PM ^
Sorry buddy you're 45 minutes late on that factoid!
October 1st, 2018 at 8:18 PM ^
Spending time finding old school, Jurassic Park nightvision goggles for navigating to and from the game.
October 1st, 2018 at 5:28 PM ^
It’s too cold for 4.5 hour night games on Fox.
October 1st, 2018 at 5:31 PM ^
Right and Give me the CORRECT Kickoff time
1;30 meaning 1;50 pst, brutal.
20 extra bs minutes of commercials and talking heads.
October 1st, 2018 at 5:57 PM ^
I checked the schedule on ESPN to see if we're done with that (probably? perhaps not if MSU ends up on FOX and ALCS/NLCS bump us) and what fresh Friday hell is this......
October 1st, 2018 at 6:13 PM ^
Michigan-MSU will be on a Fox station. They announced that before the season began.
October 1st, 2018 at 9:07 PM ^
ESPN screws up things like this all the time. They are a terrible place to look for scheduling. They also screw up lines on games all the time too. Use www.fbschedules.com instead.

IU ticket is 5 dollars? What? I can buy tickets instead of lunch. Am I reading this right?
October 1st, 2018 at 11:01 PM ^
Sorry Zeke, that you didn't know about kickoff times. TV is hard sometimes.
October 2nd, 2018 at 6:35 AM ^
Aww, you sound upset. Poor guy. Everyone is so mean when You're Always A Troll.
October 2nd, 2018 at 8:16 PM ^
I'm not upset at all. You have little scope of imagination. That's why you have such a high point total. You fit right in here.
October 1st, 2018 at 5:36 PM ^
I get the fox thing but not too cold. It's football weather
October 1st, 2018 at 5:29 PM ^
I've heard the same thing through connections in the AD... staff was being told to prepare for Wisconsin and PSU as night games. I heard this prior to the SMU game a few weeks ago.
October 1st, 2018 at 5:30 PM ^
Fuck Penn State. Let’s go.
October 1st, 2018 at 5:33 PM ^
Good. Big games like this should be at night.
October 1st, 2018 at 6:10 PM ^
Plus I feel like the 60 year old season ticket holders are less likely to show up and be lame as hell since it's late. Like either they're liquored up or selling to someone who will go and make it a better atmosphere.
