What this thread is for: It's an ad-hoc way of tracking what threads and comments get removed. Mods that remove a thread should post the title here with a brief reason as to why the thread is gone.

Don't comment in this thread unless you have to: if you leave an irrelevant comment in this thread it will be deleted (see: "cumbrously long").

Things we moderate a lot:

  1. Politics. Don’t you get enough of this everywhere else?
  2. Noise/snowflakes. We ask our moderators to try really hard not to censor ideas but some ideas are so tiresome and retread and badly argued that they’re not worth keeping around. If you’re getting a substantial amount of downvotes we’ll look to see if you’re posting an unpopular opinion that you can support. If you can’t support it politely and rationally, or if you don’t acknowledge the holes in your argument, it’s noise.
  3. Useless content from other sites. Clickbait is annoying. 247, WTKA always get the benefit of the doubt.
  4. The Drew Sharp Memorial Don’t Feed the Professional Trolls Rule. Pete Finebaum has taken the place of the late Sharp. Valenti and Chatsports are the other two on the ban list. Bleacher Report is off the list but still under close observation.
  5. Bewbs and general misogyny/objectifying of women. We tried one year of this and our female readership shot up after being really low. This means it’s a good rule: however much you enjoy cutting loose with the guys, we have tens of thousands of readers it drives away.

jfc. i didn't self impose anything because i'm not that account. just go read the posts, it's dead simple to see the difference.

The multiple account person uses CamelCase to make their usernames, I use lowercase.  All their accounts showed up in Feb-April 2018, mine was 2016. They make pretty short comments, I write novels.

go look at the Wayback Machine for SkyPanther, MichiganFan1984, mineral-king, none of these accounts showed up until early to mid- 2018. SpilledMilk was around in Oct 2017.  

as i said multiple times, i have no idea if any of those accounts were the same, but I. Am. Not. Them.

Crickets.... that's disappointing.

Well here's the best I've figured out how to do.  Since my comment history is blocked now, you can scroll through the Wayback Machine captures of my comment history to see everything I posted here from the beginning all the way up to June 2018 and you can see that:

  • there's nothing vulgar or remotely trollish in the least
  • my style (capitalization, tenure, comment length, cockiness) is not at all similar to the multi-troll, easy to tell it's not the same person
  • basically i'm just a normal poster

since nobody took any effort to do this kind of comparison as far as i can tell and hung me without a trial, I'm just dropping this here so the intellectually honest can make their own judgment.  does that user history look like it's the same person as MKing, 1984, skypanther, smugbastard?  

So it's still unexplained why I've been banned except for just being victim to the public lynchmob.  this is the thread "to get the mods attention" supposedly.  anyone want to offer an explanation?

Hey mods here are some accounts that kept dragging out the multiple usernames issue - attacking the innocent like me and making the board generally insufferable recently - you banned a bunch of people, 1984, panther, spilled milk, and me - just take a look at the comments others made in response - ban them too

Deleted a response by Walter Sobchak (the user) regarding Kaepernick because I don't want to deal with this on a gameday. If it makes you feel better I also deleted 1/4th of the article Raj submitted for this same reason.

StraightDave has a nice long history of racist, homophobic trash posts. If the liberal conspiracy moderation theory of MGoBlog were real, he would have been banned a long time ago.

However, he crossed a real line with the personal attacks on teenagers in the game thread. Needs to be gone.

Yeah, he should be banned, but why are you replying to yourself?

 The post is basically the epitome of #5, objectifying women. If we are to take this ModActionSticky seriously, the post has to be deleted and aaamichfan should be banned.

Literally 90% of the open thread is/was bitching about the coaches and calling for JH’s Head 

at yah, I created my account a decade ago, never have much to add, but I can’t sit in my basement and yell to the tv anymore or I will wake the baby and my wife will murder me - so I have to come on here to let out my anger and the coaches

Might want to check out this user. Tells people to f off quite a bit. I think he's a previously banned user that did the same. But, he could just be someone just like him. His comments are a lot like docblueberg.

Another "Valenti" thread; the second in a week.

It's specifically against the rules to create threads about him (see rule #4 in this OP, for example) and it's a very very good rule.  Can this be deleted this time?  Really, he is a nobody.  Threads about him put money in his pocket for no good reason.  He doesn't deserve this attention--he has done nothing to earn it, and never will.
