Otto Graham and Jimmy Brown put that city on the map.
Ok post 60’s...Lebron put Northeast Ohio on the map.
Except he's not saying it's a good thing. He said he's glad to not have to deal with the drama every year which I understand and agree with.
When Lebron came back to Cleveland he did so with a 1 year contract and a pledge to sign a longer-term deal that he never did. Which meant every year we had to wonder will he stay or go cause even his 2 year deals had a player option.
Sad he's gone. Appreciate 2016 and the finals runs. Not mad this time around cause he delivered on the promise of a championship.
Wish he would've stayed.
well I wonder if Urban will still have a locker for him?
I was just wondering what Jack will look like courtside again.
+100
Warriors in 6.
Quick someone go do a wellness check on MgrowOld
I would not be surprised if KD didn't make his way to LA at some point.
I think Magic will get Kwai to Lakers somehow and Magic will most likely get his pick of next years FA class, which will be a good one.
Where's the edit button?
I would be surprised if KD didn't team up with LBJ in LA next year or so.
AIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YAS SLAY KING!
MY BODY IS READY
MO WAGNER GOTTA BE HOARDING KING JAMES' DIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome to LA.
It's crazy to think Moe could be on a championship team in his rookie year, assuming they don't trade him in a deal for Kawhi Leonard (or Boogie Cousins)
Great day. Added APB Gray out of Tennessee and Bron to LA. Anything to see the so called dynasty of the Warriors fall apart and die! Anytime a starting five that's a dynasty that has guys like Clay Thompson and Draymond Green is just pathetic and sad. Watch some tape of those guys a few years back and tell me how they are even in the NBA. The NBA just sucks in general. Very sad. Good luck to Lebron for sure. Cant wait to see him dismantle those no talent yups from a few miles to the south.
South? Did Diego get the Clips back?
Great news and solidly in line with Lakers tradition, grab superstar in his prime, add him to a talented young core, Profit!!
Does Walton get replaced now? I haven't paid much attention.
All I care about here is what does this do for Moe. Hopefully he remains on the team and gets to win a ring or two.
From a brand standpoint, this was inevitable. The Lakers are suddenly relevant again (can't wait for the Christmas Day matchups), and LeBron can focus on his post-basketball career. From a competitive standpoint, I'm not sure that Kawhi alone will be enough to emerge from the West. Not sure what the missing piece is exactly (maybe LiAngelo?/s), but it feels like he basically just went to "Purple and Gold Cleveland."
Overall it's kind of sad to see. He really could've had a greater legacy had he stayed in Cleveland (either time) or even in Miami. Hubris I guess.
Yeah. I don't fault him for wanting to go to a better team (and leaving Cleveland in general) but it waters down his legacy a bit IMO when he goes chasing after a ring elsewhere again. I like to see guys ride it out in one city.
James can sign wherever he wants, of course.
But I don’t think this is good for the league. The NBA is star-driven, yes, but the teams need to have somewhat consistent personalities. Stars jumping from city to city as much as they have recently makes the idea of rooting for a particular franchise seem somewhat silly. And I have to believe that isn’t good for keeping people as fans of the sport over the long run.
He must have a better accountant than me. His taxes will be insane out here. Not that he need money.
I live in SoCal but am not a Lakers Fan and I absolutely Hate Lebron,,always enjoyed that selfish egotistical losing. It will be interesting to see the one man show in LA not get out of the 2nd round.
I'm sure you've made up your mind at this point but I think his obvious self-consciousness is a product of being in the spotlight in a way nobody else really has since he was 16. Sure he lays down for 17 minutes after a hard foul and does his cheesy dad workout videos, but he's a good teammate and does as much good off the court as anybody.
Don't count your chickens on a second round defeat. The West is brutal but the Lakers have more young talent than you realize and they'll get the best of the older guys willing to take the minimum or the cap exceptions.
Lebron will win 2 championships wit the lakers. Mark it down now I promise it will happen.
Stop it, no other team is winning a championship while the Warriors are together. He sure as hell won't do it this upcoming year with the 4th best team in the West, and then after that he will be 35 years old.
The only team that will have a chance is Boston because of their athletic ability to defend.
Boogie Cousins to the Warriors. Lol.
Western Conference Playoffs, Round 2.
#5 Seed Los Angeles Cavaliers get swept by the #1 seed Golden State Warriors.
Cousins took a 1 year deal at 5.3 milllion. Is this the future of the NBA? 3 maybe 4 relevant teams? I just don’t see how this is good for the league.
But it doesn't seem to hurt CFB.........I mean if 10 pct of the NBA teams (3 out of 30) have a shot next year at winning it all then what can we say is realistic in CFB, it's not 10 pct (13 teams out of 130). Is it even 5 pct (6.5 teams)? Not saying I like this either but the point is hasn't seemed to hurt CFB and the popularity it has despite the fact that 95 pct of the teams have NO shot of winning it all.
So, I have not watched a full NBA game since the BadBoys years and I really don’t follow it either... even to me, it seemed like a no-brainer that LeBron was going to sign with the Lakers.
