TWIS is up....(hint: WE MADE IT!!!)

The Texas stuff continues to be classic. This made me have to get out of a staff meeting so I could laugh:
"I want to apologize to all Texas fans in advance," said a visibly-shaken Brown. "66-17 is unacceptable. I'm as disappointed as anybody about how the team will play against Oklahoma on October 12. But you can't look back at next month's loss and torture yourself with ‘What ifs?' You have to move on."
I like that time and space and conventional notions thereof no longer have meaning in Austin.

It's a good season for Texas to make TWIS, as their defense is going through a GERG-level meltdown. Literally.

My favorite.
Wisconsin did get hosed... Feel for their fanbase. And Pelini is becoming a joke in Lincoln. The fanbase is just aching for a "Nebraska" man... A nod to Hoke's success, perhaps?

I love State-ND week. Because no matter the outcome, we get to see one of the fanbases we most hate riot.

Good, old M-Dog. Enjoy the 15-minutes of fame! LOL.

Thanks! I'm still wiping up the mess.

That was a clusterfuck. A total clusterf---. The word 'clusterf---' was invented for clusterf---s like that.
One of the clusterfucks isn't f---?

Buy 3 clusterf---'s and get 1 clusterfuck free.

(hint: WE MADE IT!!!)
which is not a good thing...

Eh. Embarrassing, over-blown meltdowns is something that binds all sports fans, and especially college football fans. I think there's a perverse sense of pride in making TWIS, in a totally harmless way. I mean, the fake press conference with Mack Brown was hilarious and knowing. And Michigan's entries are pretty tame.

BIG TEHNNNN!!!

Hey, we could be Nebraska, Wisconsin or State fans.
Someday we'll all forget this ever happened (trying to accelerate the process through copious amounts of Founder's Centennial IPA).

I'm not saying he "is" or he "isn't", but if this was Salem a couple hundred years ago, I think we'd need to worry more about him being burned at the stake than declaring for the draft.
Just my 2 cents.
I think this is one of the better quotes I've ever heard.
September 17th, 2013 at 3:30 PM ^
The first time I read this, I read "than" as "then." As if their concern would be that Manziel would be burned at the stake, survive (presumably because he's some kind of super-witch), and go on to leave A&M for the NFL afterwards.
September 17th, 2013 at 4:02 PM ^
That's even better.

..."The staff needs to spend more time coaching & less time shopping at Tim Hortons."
That's my blog and I have no idea what he's talking about.
Tim Hortons provided the doughnuts before the game.

Thank you.

I thought the funniest bit, was Jason Kirk's reply to the comment that explained Brian's confusion. Kirk wrote:
I've always maintained one of the best uses for SB Nation is explaining mgoblog happenings to Brian Cook.

Also if anyone didn't know, Bert Bielema's wife tweeted #karma after the game. Wisconsin fans didn't take that too kindly. This picture made me laugh my ass off though.

It's only fair that Michigan makes it after Brian includes MSU fans in TWIS two weeks in a row after wins. Some might call it karma. I might agree. At least Michigan won, which is pretty much the only consolation for having to sit through that game.
September 17th, 2013 at 3:44 PM ^
There were far worse melt downs that the one Brian selected. Including that dude threatening to fight everyone in the Sweet Baby Jesus thread.
