01/17/2019 - 4:14pm I would not listen to…

I would not listen to RockinLoud. I have been doing a ton of research on this lately (see, my 16 yr daughter), and the owners' boards are full of people who are happy with their cars. Obviously there are certain issues (i3 tire treadwear is terrible), but other than range anxiety, the owners are quite satisfied. And to me, limited range is a huge plus for this purpose.

There is no engine more reliable than an electric motor. Those things do not require any maintenance and last forever. I am most definitely buying an electric car within next few months.

You mean auto shops with no experience in dealing with electric cars? I think it is more of their insecurities shinning through...

01/17/2019 - 4:02pm This is just illogical…

This is just illogical. There is nothing simpler than an electric motor. It is just a big magnet with coil around it. Compare that to thousands of parts required for a gas engine with fluids and cooling system everywhere.

The only real maintenance items for electric car is brakes and battery. Most companies have 8 year warranty for battery so you are covered for at least that period.

Looking at owners board for these cars, most of them are extremely happy with their cars.

01/17/2019 - 11:48am I am going through this…

I am going through this right now with my 16 year old. I am leaning heavily toward an electric car for a couple of reasons.

First, range limitation is actually a positive for this purpose. I don't want her driving around more than necessary.

Second, she can just plug in at home and won't need a credit card for gas.

Third, used car prices are VERY LOW for electric cars. I can get a fairly new Leaf or Fiat e for $10k, and even BMW i3 for $15k.

Does anyone own any of these cars? How do you like them? Probably would be a good Tuesday car talk topic - feedback from electric car owners.

It does not matter. Anyone even remotely related to Nassar case is not someone the university should be mixed with. I don't care if she is the greatest coach in the world and every gymnast wanted her on board. The university's reputations is far more important than hiring someone who has no ties to this university. It may be completely unfair to her, but she is radioactive at this point.

This really is an issue that no one is talking about (including the OP)...

If he gets an immediate clearance, that is actually not a bad news for us as we can use "are you sure you want to go to a school where racism is so prevalent that NCAA said you can get away from it without paying a penalty?" to every black player thinking about going to Georgia (and we seem to be in play with Georgia recruits a lot).

Either this is a little late or way early for Festivus....

12/31/2018 - 8:55am Regression to mean is a…

Regression to mean is a cruel lady. Where we stand today, it is far likelier that our defensive performance will regress towards average, no matter who we hire.

12/31/2018 - 12:07am We have ranked in top 10…

We have ranked in top 10 before and we will again. We will be ranked regularly in top 10 and when we regularly recruit top 10 classes.

Yes, I still don't care about the bowl game results... So, what is your point?

12/30/2018 - 7:20pm If it means a double digits…

If it means a double digits wins and a top ten recruiting class like this year, he can stay as long as he wants. Anyone who thinks different is dilusional and will never be satisfied even if we win like Alabama (like Alabama fans), so no use listening to those nutjobs.

12/27/2018 - 12:11pm You go backs as long as you…

You go backs as long as you want. It still does not change the fact that only 2 to 3 bowl games mattered each year for the mythical national championship. Just like it is today. The only difference is that you know which bowls are going to matter before the season.

12/27/2018 - 12:05pm FFS, it is just an…

FFS, it is just an exhibition game designed to line the pockets of the organizers and the host city. You people need to seriously get over it.

And this will not be over until Brian pins Seth!

Yes, let's air some grievances. Why are you people so damn negative all the time???

12/18/2018 - 3:34pm This is silly. There are…

Let me REALLY blow your mind!

There are PROS, who get PAID MLLIONS to PLAY THE GAME, that sit out regular season games just to save themselves from getting too tired/injured for the playoffs. THE THIEVES!!! You would think there would be a riot from the fans when they learn about th... oh, fans don't care? Cool.

Why can't college players who don't even get paid do the same?

There are studies that say an average football player bring close to $200k to the program. The star players like these are worth at least 2 to 3X.

12/18/2018 - 2:04pm This is a deranged take.

This is a deranged take.

NFL draft eligible players have brought in FAR MORE money than what they took in scholarship. You should be paying them if anything.

And many teams have refused the invitation.

12/18/2018 - 1:57pm Yeah and people used to keep…

Yeah and people used to keep their own hot-takes to themselves instead of publishing it where the whole world can see it.

Times change, people's behavior change.

Bowl games are meaningless. I only care about the additional practice time, which means the seniors and those going to NFL can sit out. If we lose a game because of it, so be it. Not sure why these kids need to risk a lot of money so that some random bowl executive can make a million just for arranging a single game.

12/18/2018 - 10:55am Not sure how saying that…

Not sure how saying that having an NBA talent who did not perform well on the court to merit an All B1G selection is a compliment...

12/18/2018 - 8:42am WAAATTTT? Beilein finds…

WAAATTTT? Beilein finds diamonds in the rough and polishes them. It is just as likely for Beilein players to get all B1G votes and not get drafted (Harris, Walton JR, MAAR (honorable mention)), while guys like Sims, Morris, Hardaway, Levert and Stauskas got the selection and drafted.

The only times where Beilein player did not get selected in All B1G teams and drafted was Robinson and Wilson.

And to think Man U could have hired Klopp instead of Mourinho. It is not hard to think that Man U would be right there with City if Klopp is at the helm.

You would be suprised at unique angle that each point of view provides. I find them enlightening.

I have it as kind of a background noise while I work, coming in and out of focus as I hear something interesting or I have free time. I listen to them twice since I miss a lot from the first listen.

And I read plenty, but they take more free time than just listening to something while doing something else.

I've got a bad news for OP. EVERYBODY uses PED in football, including our school. Do you think 320lb athletic linemen happens naturally?

12/06/2018 - 8:17am You are a terrible, terrible…

You are a terrible, terrible failure of a human being.

11/21/2018 - 12:29pm Yeah, this is kinda useless…

Yeah, this is kinda useless without first adjusting for each team's average offensive output (like the one about the common opponents).

11/12/2018 - 2:54pm We are #27 on Kenpom and I…

We are #27 on Kenpom and I think that is about right for where we are right now. Villanova is #6 on Kenpom, BTW.

I would say we can beat Nova if we hit better than 38% on threes and 70% on FTs.

You can gauge how likely that is on your own.

11/12/2018 - 11:39am Nope, Alabama is much more…

Nope, Alabama is much more likely.

11/11/2018 - 1:35pm And you think SEC is going…

And you think SEC is going to just standby if 12-1 Alabama is left out? And guess who has the most pull these days?

11/11/2018 - 1:21pm This is patently not true.

This is patently not true.

In the case of everyone winning out except Alabama losing to Georgia, you can EASILY argue that Alabama deserves to be #4 instead of Michigan.

In that case, Georgia jumps to #1 or #2 (easy since ND's SOS is weak and they just beat friggin bama and remember 1 loss LSU was ranked above ND). In which case, Alabama's loss is better than Michigan's loss and Alabama is in over Michigan.

To me, the current rankings of ACC/SEC teams are pointing exactly this scenario. Not sure what this is so hard to believe for some...

11/11/2018 - 1:00pm That was an ugly game to…

That was an ugly game to watch. Unless Poole and Simpson find their game, I am not sure if B1G title is in play for us.

Poole is really disappointing so far. I would feel helluva lot better about this team if Poole was doing what Iggy is doing and Iggy was doing what Poole is doing. At least I can chalk that up to lack of experience and know he will get better. Poole really should be performing at a much higher level. I am afraid that he might be on Tim Hardaway track (great 1st year, not so great 2nd and 3rd, and really turned it on his senior year) instead of Stauskas track.

Which could be mitigated if Simpson was playing better, but he isn't. He is getting absolutely no respect on outside. His defender is collapsing to help on every drive, leaving Simpson. This is making our drive penetration much more difficult. There is very little drive to 3 point buckets and I think most of that is on Simpson. He was fine when we had other shooters around him like last year, but with this team, I am not sure if you can really afford to have Simpson out there even with his elite defense. He is like a black hole on offense. I know this team will get better, but unless there is some major development on new guys, I am not sure if this team can hit a much higher ceiling than barely making the tourney.

11/07/2018 - 11:47am Is this really even a…

Is this really even a question. Of course they will. I think the committee would put 3 teams from SEC in to CFP if they could.

B1G, PAC12, and Big12 should just bow out of CFP after this season and form their own playoffs (winners from each conf plus one wildcard), and let ACC and SEC have their own playoffs. Then the winners of each can meet for the national championship. The current system is WAY to slanted for ACC/SEC.

10/22/2018 - 5:28pm I vote for both as well. Not…

I vote for both as well. Not sure what the point of this thread as if we beat OSU, we are in the playoffs. There really is not a scenario where we get in after losing to OSU.

10/22/2018 - 5:02pm That is not quite what I…

That is not quite what I meant. I do not think the OSU loss will encourage a ref to call the game any differently. However, I do think that it would encourage B1G office to make sure they assign the most unbiased referees that they can find (especially someone not from Ohio or has ties to the OSU program). Just having unbiased referees for THE GAME probably is worth 4 to 7 points on our side. Let's face it, all Delaney cares about is the Benjamins and if it looks like Michigan is the only hope for the playoffs for B1G, I would think he will do what he can to help us out.

10/22/2018 - 1:02pm I endorse this message.

I endorse this message.

10/22/2018 - 9:52am Bronx, you and I share the…

Bronx, you and I share the over-arching dread about refs ruining our playoff chances. What do you think about my hypothesis that OSU losing to Purdue is even bigger than it looks because it definitely puts us in a much better path to the playoffs and it will be in B1G's best interest for UM to win in THE GAME (and hopefully will not assign a bunch of Ohio homers to ref the game). I am almost hopeful that we may get a fair shake. What do you think?

10/21/2018 - 12:28am I think you need to take…

I think you need to take your rose colored glasses off. Alabama is in (even if they lose one), ND is probably going to win out (even if they lose, it will not be by 29 to Purdue). Clemson ain't losing. That only leaves probably one spot. Georgia/Alabama/LSU finishing with one loss will be ahead of OSU. If Oklahoma/Texas finishes with one loss, they will be ahead of OSU as well.

Yes, crazy things can happen and OSU could be back in, but right now, that is pretty unlikely. And as long as B1G believes their best chance lies with Michigan, we should get a much fairer outing at Columbus.

10/21/2018 - 12:09am I don't know if we are going…

I don't know if we are going to end up winning B1G East, but I know one thing for sure, OSU ain't going to the playoffs, even if they win out rest of the season. There is no way the committee is going to put a team that lost by 29 to Purdue in playoffs.

And that is going to be a HUGE help in our cause. Why?

If we go to OSU game undefeated in B1G, it is in the league's best interest that we win that game, because we will be the only team that will be playoff eligible. That means it is much less likely that we will have bunch of homer refs that OSU routinely has for the game. B1G will probably make sure that we have every chance to win that game, for their own sakes. That is a HUGE factor in our favor. I feel much better about our chance for THE GAME, after tonight.

10/06/2018 - 7:32pm Who would have know Ronnie…

Who would have known Ronnie Bell was such a huge pick up for that class? He is going to play a huge number of snaps for the next 3 to 4 years.

10/02/2018 - 1:48pm I've been on Warde sucks… I've been on Warde sucks bandwagon for awhile, and I could not care less if he yells or not. I want to see some results. We are arguably the top brand in B1G and we are not getting the treatment we deserve. We should demand favorable treatments, never mind fair treatments. If not, we should actively investigate leaving the conference (or at least threaten it). But I suspect nothing will change until we get a new AD. I really believe that we will not win another B1G championship until the change is made.
10/02/2018 - 1:42pm No this is why Gene Smith is… No this is why Gene Smith is not fired even after all the recent shenanigans. While our AD is just sitting on his hands whistling sweet nothings.
10/02/2018 - 1:37pm As someone who is well… As someone who is well versed in kimchi, the video of that guys sitting there eating kimchi like some snack is just very wrong. Kimchi is and always will be a side-dish whose acidity and spice-level is meant to balance the sweetness and fattiness of meat and rice. Even Koreans don't just sit there and eat kimchi by itself.
09/30/2018 - 11:36am I couldn't care less about…

I couldn't care less about public display of outrage. I only care about the results. We lost our B1G championship in 2016 because of homer refs that OSU featured. Things should have been fixed then. It has not gotten any better. We are not even getting our share of home game calls let alone away games. That is on Manuel. He is the only one who can fix this issue.

09/30/2018 - 11:14am Yup, I don't expect things…

Yup, I don't expect things to get any better with Manuel in charge. This is where we really miss having somebody like Bo as the AD. He would be raising holy hell at B1G officials right now. Forget the calls that are getting called on us, we are getting boned on calls not being made on opponents as well with non-holdings and no PI's like we saw against Nebraska. We are going to lose more games and probably half of that will be due to poor officiating.

Manuel might be THE biggest reason why we may not win another B1G Championship for awhile.

09/24/2018 - 10:22am It is not very predictive…

It is not very predictive after only 3~4 games. It will be more accurate later down the year.
