kOT: What To Do TODAY??! Thread
I'm sure everyone is as excited as I am, this Sunday is going to feel like a week and tomorrow...is going to feel like a lifetime.
What are you guys going to do to pass the time?
I wish someone could put me in cryosleep until 9pm tomorrow, because every second I've been awake has been thinking about Michigan/Louisville.
Anyone going to watch all of the other Michigan tourney games?
Maybe watch coverage on ESPN/BTN all day to get your fix?
Or maybe go the opposite route and get outside, do work around the house, etc.?
This is one of the most painful yet glorious days to be a fan. Just wondering what everyone is going to do in honor of "Pre-Championship Sunday."
BTW, kOT = Kinda Off Topic (for those that didn't catch that).
I don't want to speculate how long that will last, but assuming it won't be until Monday what do you plan to do with the rest of your day?
That'll extend it.
...you knock'em down.
what is this, rcmb?
Because I said so.
Because phonetically, Louisville does not sound like Nucky.
I am going to Breakfast. I live in upstate (eastern) NY.
I am going to order ALL THE ORANGES THEY HAVE. Now, I think what you may have read was that I'll order a lot of oranges. But what I want is ALL THE ORANGE THEY HAVE
...but I love you.
Welp, I guess I know what I'm doing today.
I'll be implementing a plan of work around the house, some job-type work, and ...HAIR OF THE DOG.
I'm debating on if I want to go back and watch every tournament game and totally consume myself with Michigan Basketball or if I want to go run the dog, go to the store, grill, get outside and totally get away from everything NCAA/Sports related.
It's one extreme or the other.
I'll probably get started working on my taxes today and trying to find out as much about Louisville as possible.
Good luck on the PE. I am MSCE '08 and I passed it 2 years ago. Dont overthink it. It will be easier than you think. Have a beer between the morning and afternoon sessions.
Watch all the talking heads continue to pick against Michigan. It's already started.
Get ready for tomorrow. And generally just enjoy today and all the fun the last three weeks have been watching this team. As somebody who actually remembers the 1976 game believe it or not, I had missed a deep tourny run and the building suspense and excitement of each subsequent game.
That's the wonderful thing about this tourny IMO. Each game brings higher stakes and tougher opponents so each win (if you get them) is just a bit sweeter than the one before. And the acticipation for the next game goes up proportionally as well.
So here we are the precipice. Roughly 34 hours away from jumping........it's been one hellofa fun ride and I'm going to enjoy today and tomorrow a LOT thanks to my team!
I was not paying attention in '76, but I certainly was in '89, '92, and '93.
We are blessed to be in the internet age for this run. Back then, you got a few minutes on ESPN, a Sports section headline in the USA Today, and then . . . . nothing.
No coaches press conferences, no on-demand replays from every angle, no schadenfreude from the other team's blogs, no discussions on your own blogs about matchups, and uniform colors, and game-watching locations.
Nothing. Just roaring silence for 40 hours.
Folks, enjoy this run. Milk it for all it's worth. They don't come along that often.
WE GOIN' TO THE NATTY!!!
If you think today is bad, wait until Monday at work. I'll be useless.
My problem is, I'll be equally as useless on Tuesday.
Been running my usual sunday errands around sleepy north port, florida rocking my michigan gear, and have already had four different people start conversations about the game last night. Work tomorrow is going to be the longest eight hours ever.
Probably study for finals. Hopefully go to the gym. Try this new chicken breast slowcooker recipe I found on pintrest.
Gotta work today. What's that Mitch?
"LET'S WORK!"
That is where I will be. Doing that and sleeping. You have to store up energy for tomorrow because there you will expend it all.
Michigan defense have allowed .87 PPP for the NCAA tourney which would rank them at top 10 in adjD at KenPom.
With Kansas game, Michigan allowed .93 PPP which is still a very good defense.
Defense is the biggest difference between Michigan playing for the national title and staying home. The offense is at their usual self in every game. Defense is another reason why Michigan needs to lean on towards winning the NC.
I found my VHS tape of highlights from the 1989 tournament, and might try to find the game tape from the Seton Hall game. It's around here somewhere. That'll do for a good afternoon of basketball.
Am I ever glad that I do.
And get that nostalgic feeling.
The BTN actually aired the '89 championship the other day. They probably will again today or tomorrow.
Let's give them a new one to air next week.
